Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!
add

This is based on only watching one episode of "Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!". Both series are quite random and include "from outside of the box" funny jab-like comments (突っ込み) about what happens. They both have an overall positive atmosphere to them mixed with a pinch of misfortune and some potential love stories. In both series, we have a male main character that is not viewed as popular and don't really talk to that many people. The setting of the two series is different, but the general feel of them and many of their genres seems to be overlapping, although I imagine the fan service level of "Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo!" will be quite a lot higher in comparison. From the opening, it seems like the characters "Majolica "Majo" le Fay" and "Megumin" will also have similar hats as well, although probably not very relevant.

A clumsy girl having a dream of entering the stage and being able to do so on the first day, without any experience, because the girl supposed to do the performance, is unable to. The 'manager' decides that she is the perfect girl for the job, just by the experience of earlier, coincidentally running in to her on the street and seeing her 'do her thing' there. He overrules the female authority in order to get her to the stage, since she is not happy about having a newbie do the stage performance. Although she is a clumsy girl in the show, she is of course special and therefore she ends up pleasing the crowd anyway. Both series have the same colour palette and the stages that the story revolves around, are both the most popular ones in that universe. There's a sort of magic existing in both worlds, although it is less obvious is Kaleido Star. Besides this, both series have costumes and 'legendary moves'. They both have a 'happy' feeling to them, although the girls of course encounter problems. Kaleido star does not use CG however and in my opinion, it appeals to a more mature audience than Pretty Rhythm. This is however based from the first episode of Pretty Rhythm.

In both animes the protagonist is a girl, who used to have a normal life, but who now finds herself working at a traditional in to earn her living. Both of them have been seperated/abandoned from their parents and are having trouble adjusting to the new way of life in the beginning. Besides that, both protagonists are hard-working and tries to do their best in order to help others. This was my impression after only 1st episode of Hanasaku Iroha, though :)

Both protagonists are abandoned by their parent(s) and ends up working as some sort of servant. They are also both quite hard-working and by starting their new job, they encounter a variety of new people who works/lives there. They both seem to speak their mind and try to do justice in their own eyes. Besides that, there is the fact that both series seems to have a comic factor to them - random stuff happening, weird personalities and so on. There might be more, but this was my opinion after watching the first episode og Hanasaku Iroha :)

The idea that a secret organisation, according to the protagonist, is conspiring against him is a similarity. At the same time both series are perverted and both have a somewhat weird/special female side-character. The main characters in both series also seems a bit awkward when trying to interact with 'normal' people, yet somewhat like a leader among their own small clique/group of friends (which seems to be a coding guy and the weird girl in both series). Besides that, they also have in common that reality seems somewhat off or twisted to the protagonist. There might be more, but this is my impression after the first episode of Steins;Gate :)

They're both harem series with multiple types of girls liking the protagonist, who is very unaware of the situaion. Besides that, both of the main character girls are from space, big chested, wear tight space suits and have small helper(s). Both series have ALOT of fanservice as well as a somewhat similar art and story.

Both series has a girl in the center of attention with more than one guy interested. Both girls are also very athletic. Besides that, Okayashi actually reminds me a bit about Usui in his way of always silently helping the girl, but also by teasing/toying with her a bit at the same time.

They both have female main characters, but with important side characters aswell. It is also the same priciple of being able to travel back and forth between a "normal" world and the more fantasy-inspired "old world". They both handle the subject of what problems one might have when crossing over to another world. Besides that, both series also have monsters/demons which can be both good and bad :)
