I planned to watch just one episode during lunch yesterday and ended up binging the whole thing...
While the premise is similar to other otome and non-otome isekais, the execution is refreshingly original. The MC is a 52-year-old civil servant, a former and current otaku, and—most importantly—a loving husband and father. This matters because the anime subtly teaches life lessons that you’d normally only hear from a happy and experienced parent. It almost feels like someone like that was involved in the writing. But don’t get me wrong—this isn’t some preachy, lesson-driven anime. It’s just a welcome part of the story.

I almost dropped this anime, but I was exhausted and just wanted something simple, lighthearted, and easy to follow—and that’s exactly what this anime delivers.
The MC is an extreme introvert, but not socially anxious—two traits that don’t always go hand in hand. Many frustrating situations could have been avoided if he had more communication experience, but even more could have been prevented if he and the people around him just used basic logic. His maxed-out Luck stat is supposed to justify the plot armor, but a lot of things still don’t make sense. This anime feels like the result of a somewhat ... Mar 26, 2025
As others have pointed out, this anime has some similarities to "How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom", but it still feels unique. Aside from a few unnecessary clichés, nothing seems directly copied—at least from other anime; I can't speak for the manga.
Like "Realist Hero", some of the challenges were fairly obvious, but Uchimura managed to solve them faster and with less information. He successfully applied real-world business strategies, which, being more advanced than those of a medieval fantasy world, helped him improve the country and its surroundings. While I rated "Realist Hero" an 8/10 (rounded up from 7.5), this anime barely ... Mar 19, 2025

A very plain isekai with low production value and somewhat shallow characters, yet still worth a watch.
The art and animation are at most average, the voice acting is fine, and there is not much of a story—but the plot is at least somewhat unique. Unlike many recent low-budget isekai, it doesn’t feel entirely copy-pasted. While it does use some clichés, they don’t stand out too much. It is weird however how an almost 40y old guy who got reincarnated into a 17y old body acts like a 15y old in front of the girls. Overall, it’s a mediocre anime, but it’s easy, relaxing and ... This is probably the best 7/10 anime I’ve watched. Not because it barely missed being rounded up to an 8 with a 7.49, but because it did many things very well, but somehow remained a solid 7/10. The anime has great visuals, a strong soundtrack, good world-building, a decent plot, and likeable characters. The MC isn’t overpowered, but his intelligence, wisdom, and experience shine as he quickly—yet realistically—adapts to the cyberpunk setting.
Unlike traditional "demon lord fantasies," he doesn’t rise to power through nepotism or sheer strength alone but by using his abilities strategically. This would make it seem like the anime deserves an ... Dec 5, 2024

This anime had potential, and I can see why some people might enjoy it, but it didn’t work for me.
The MC is actually well-written—he’s not perfect, but he’s compelling and has depth without being a flat, overpowered character. That said, the "joking" sibling romance subplot, driven by the sister, is straight-up gross and awkward to sit through. It’s not funny, it’s not charming, and it actively drags down the experience. The pacing is another big problem. It’s already slow for something billed as an action sci-fi, with not nearly enough actual action, and those uncomfortable "rom-com" scenes only make it worse. I usually enjoy detailed explanations in ... Nov 26, 2024
I keep it short and simple, as I am sick.
Don`t really understand the hate for the anime. It is mediocre and just a bit bland, but there is not much to make people hate it. The story and mc are decent (but nothing innovative), but the execution is lacking. Relationships develop fast, so it feels rushed, but somehow the makers still put a bit too many common cliches inside. For a non-harem anime it feels a bit too "haremy", but at least there is some logic behind it. It is a simple and somewhat entertaining anime that you can watch with your brain turned off. The biggest reason this anime falls into the fantasy genre isn't just the magic or monsters, but the fact that a healthy human so dense and oblivious as the MC is unrealistic. This trait is shared by many of the characters around him, making it a recurring theme. I must also correct the anime's assertion that the MC has only one strong skill (parry): he and the other characters possess an exceptionally advanced ability to "Jump to Wrong Conclusions"—some are so talented at it, they miss the mark by a mile.
That said, the plot is intriguing, and the MC is likeable. The side characters are ... Jun 1, 2024

Summary: started as a fun and goofy 8/10 anime, which then became more intriguing and complex, meking me binge 22 episodes in 2 days. Like many, I approached this anime expecting a heartwarming and funny adventure centered around dungeon cuisine. Initially, I was skeptical about its 24-episode length, fearing it might become boring quickly, similar to how I felt about "Too Cute Crisis," which had fewer episodes but still dragged on. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The first few episodes aligned with my initial expectations, offering a mix of humor, wholesome moments, and a bit more action ... Apr 9, 2024
If we take the mind of an edgy teenager with 5th grader syndrome and make it into an anime...
The idea behind this type of power is intriguing, and it had the potential to become the "one punch man" of isekai, as some have suggested. However, the execution falls short, resulting in a shallow and disjointed experience. It feels like various unrelated plots were haphazardly thrown together, with only a partial attempt to tie them cohesively. Moreover, the anime assumes too much about the viewer's prior knowledge, leaving newcomers to the anime world feeling lost and confused. The world the characters find themselves in feels like a ... |
