It was... Alright.
Initially it was quite interesting, and gave good hopes that there'd be some great story. Turns out, that was a lie.
I was hoping for more in depth story, adventuring, world-building, etc. Instead, most of the series was spent in a cave. Its a largely fighting, and battle orientated anime.
It largely stuck to the whole "building a harem" trope, which personally, I find lame and tiresome.
It also has, in my opinion, terrible pacing of time. Some things just happen at random intervals, days passing by in mere seconds to days that will last entire episodes.
There was some hinting near the end that may credit
...
towards future world-building being more in depth, but that's a real 50/50.
Overall, I think its an alright watch, if you're looking for something simple. That or if it seems to have peaked your interest. Its not terrible or what I'd say is "hard to enjoy", its just, meh? I didn't drop it atleast, like with some other anime that I've watched, since those can feel tedious to watch. This at least, isn't that.

I would sell my best friend for Season 3 and the Movie.
I initially put this off because I forgot why I planned to watch it, and the banner image looked fairly "serious", and I just like anime with stupid premises or just dgaf about focusing solely on story. Then I remembered that I was interested in it because of the stupid ass clips from the show.
The show itself is great comedically, has a lot of meta jokes, subversion, etc, visually sells itself well, especially in the isekai genre where you'll find some things are... Mediocre in visuals. This show was a big exception. Overall just
...
got me hooked really good. Probably one of my top 3 in the Isekai Genre.

It's got some odd undertones with the whole "MC is a shota" and the painfully obvious feminized body that they chose for him.
Those oddities aside, its through and through good.
Lets go through the 3 parts that matter to me. Visual Appeal, Auditory Appeal, and Quality of Story.
Visual:
The visual design and work put in was quite good, in comparison to other anime in the "OP MC". There's a lot of intricacy put into the magic art, and a lot of flashy work. You'll see them sometimes switch to Chibi characters from time to time in non-serious settings, but when it comes to fights or battles, they
...
put a lot of detail into each frame. The intro especially kicks off with some flashy animation and fine detail. The only critique I have is their open areas and structures. The town square where traders are seen is very open, and empty. They don't take much detail into the design of any buildings or towns. There's even a city that was shown mostly as a castle if I am recalling correctly. To be fair, the cities are only ever really background objects, the focus is always on indoors or fighting.
I'd give visual's a 8/10
Audio:
Something to take note is I watched in English Dubs. The dubs were very good.
Overall, the audio was pretty good. Nothing crazy, compared to TenSura, whom I loved for their use of Mechanical SFX, and overall depth put in to each sound effect, its not as impressive in comparison, but regardless the audio itself clearly had good care put into it, and was actually pretty good. Still not astonishing, but it was very good! 8/10
Solid 7/10
Story:
I'm not much of a sucker for story, but the story was pretty good. When I was first looking into this anime, I was thinking it'd just be "OP MC is clinically insane and loves magic way too much", but there's a good amount of depth into the story with the characters and events. Its nothing to awe you of course, but still. Its just "Good" to me. Then again story isn't something I'd completely be a sucker for, unless its something that's really engaging me. The only times that I do end up like that is when I'm investigating the wiki, but I didn't find myself doing that for this one.
Total score: 8/10. It's pretty good, nothing to be astonished by, but it definitely sells itself well. It also wraps itself up well enough with an ending. I'm sure there's opportunity for a second season, but its not something I'd expect since they wrapped it up so neatly. But who knows, I'm sure the LN or Manga have more available to pull from to make a 2nd season.
This anime is a good watch just for anyone seeking something light and fun to watch, without having their soul sucked away, wishing for more.

Its controversial. But it's like that to tell a story.
Yes, the MC is a first shown as a pedophile/creep, but he's shown to change for the better.
The anime a strong "slow burner", they practically spend the first few episodes just building his character and who he is, and his regrets.
He's not your typical "Cool Guy" or anything, he's a sad pathetic worthless individual at first, someone you hate, and that's because, the largest part of this anime, and to me, the most important factor that makes it unique, is the development and slow change you see over time with how the MC acts and behaves.
...
His past actions will always haunt him, but he will learn to accept that and choose to be a better person.
He was chosen to be such a controversial character because it makes character development important, otherwise, it'd remain a neutral part of the story, something that lays in the back of your head, like "Oh, huh this dude really become more likeable over the past 2 seasons", instead you'll go "This dude is so fucking disgusting" to "Damn he's a badass"
If this kind of subject is something you still aren't comfortable with, or you don't care much for story, its your right to avoid it, but if you value strong character development and majority focus on telling a deep story, this is perfect for you.

I was hoping for the anime to at-least have some form of character development, but honestly, it didn't. Although its an alright watch if you are just planning to pass time, & don't want to focus on story, this is just a crap.
It lacks the character development, or any meaningful story, the entire premise is "Dude gets OP, cheats at life" and nothing else. The dude literally gets handed everything, and yes I've read the title of the anime, but come on, you'd think he'd at-least had to hone is skills, or face some form of difficulty that would form a change in character, but
...
nope.
Just plain out lame. But still, was decent enough to enjoy whilst playing a game.
