After years of waiting, the second season of Attack on Titan is finally out. It, like every other anime, has its flaws and strongpoints.

Let's start with the good things. The character development is superb and I was very glad that it wasn't focused on Eren, Mikasa, and Armin. Instead, we got to learn more about other side characters, such as Ymir, that weren't featured heavily in the first season. Each of these characters have their moments to shine and none of them are boring. I especially loved Erwin in the last few episodes. He truly proved himself as a strong leader who will do ... anything to find the truth. The animation in this season is noticeably better. The background looks a lot nicer and the opening looks far better than the first one. The art suits the atmosphere and is amazing for the action scenes. Next, the sound for this anime is also great. At first, I didn't really like the opening song as it sounded like a combination of the first and second Attack on Titan openings. However, it soon grew on me and got me very hyped for each episode. Lastly, the intensity and suspense is stronger in this season. The action scenes really get you and every episode leaves you hanging. It's impossible to look away and each episode ends with you going "What? That was 20 minutes already?"

Now the biggest flaw of this anime is the storytelling. The plot gets complicated, which is expected given it's the second season. However, in the last few episodes, it gets quite confusing and viewers simply don't know what is going on. While you're watching though, it doesn't take away from the enjoyment because the intense feelings and action keep you from thinking. It's something you realize after finishing an episode and take the time to reflect on it. The season also heavily relies on flashbacks. These flashbacks aren't useless and are actually very interesting to watch. I just wish that there was more variety as it does seem excessive.

In conclusion, if you're a fan of action or just want something to pass time with, you most definitely won't be disappointed. This anime, while flawed, is very enjoyable and lives up to the expectations.

Killing isn't easy. Even if you hate that person. Even if that person wronged you before. After all, you are still taking a person's life. Justice isn't an excuse. Nor is "the world is better of without them." When I first read the summary of Akame ga Kill! I was hoping this series would explore the topic of killing. Perhaps reveal the difficulties and controversial role of being an assassin. Sadly, I was quite disappointed. Against my hopes, the characters mostly kill without hesitating. This series is not at all deep and you can pretty much watch it without thinking or having an existential crisis. ... Now allow me to explain different parts of the anime that annoyed me in separate paragraphs.

This series comes very close to being a harem. Personally, I can't stand them. It went a something like this. MC somehow ends up with a female character alone and says the right thing making the female character blush. Later on, she goes "why am I noticing Tatsumi like this?" I could count the number of times this happened. Haters of harem: you have been warned.

Now, let's talk about the characters. They are all painfully stereotypical. Without fail, every character has some tragic backstory. These characters aren't developed well either which is why I hardly feel anything when they die. Oh sorry, I forgot to mention something. There are A LOT of character deaths. Most of them feel forced or just take place conveniently in attempt to tear up the viewers. It gets to the point that you can predict when a character will die. I mean, that's what I was doing for the last few episodes. And guess what? I was actually right. Speaking of characters, I'll like to talk about villains. The villains just suck. They're all the overconfident and "I'm right!" type. Could you not at least be original and come up with a good villain? Villains are important and this anime just doesn't do a good job with them.

Moving on, this anime is full of cliches. As mentioned before, there's the whole cliche of MC getting all the chicks. Secondly, love is presented in a very cheesy way. Lines like "you stole my heart" or "I'm glad I fell for you" just made me groan out loud. Really, all the characters are cliche. I mean, they all have way too much spirit and cheer up quickly. Not to mention the characters shouting out the obvious doing battle scenes.

Overall, this anime had a lot of potential and just completely failed. If you're looking for a masterpiece or something decent, be on your way. However, if you're completely bored out of your minded want to practice writing angry, disappointed reviews, feel free to give it a shot.
