Absolutely amazing. Astonishing. As a manga reader, they did an amazing job of adapting this arc. It was so much better than I remember it being when I read it. Akasaka Aka managed to pull off the best confession in any romance anime TWICE. Not only that, the themes that were expressed in this movie were beautiful, and it made me feel really jealous of what Kaguya and Shirogane have. The only downside to this movie was how lonely it makes you feel because you know that you'll never have what they have. I can't recommend this more to anyone. Absolutely amazing movie, 10/10, one
...
of my favorite anime movies of all time.

Idk what to say other than definitely read this. It's amazing and it's one of my favorite manga ever. Don't judge the series by the cover, while it may look like a happy, plain ol' idol/acting series, it's much much deeper and darker than that. It's insane how much thought went into every detail in this series.
It's hard to give a proper review without spoiling anything, so I'll leave whoever's reading this to read the manga themselves. Plus if I spoiled what happens, it won't be nearly as interesting and won't have that shock factor when you actually read it.
10/10 Manga, as expected from
...
the great Akasaka Aka sensei.

Disclaimer: This review is a review of the entire series, not just season 1. This includes the manga as well. I will not give any major spoilers though.
Where to start... This show has everything. I went in expecting a pretty standard rom-com, but oh boy was I surprised and delighted. This is the best anime I've ever watched (I've watched about 20-30 anime, not too much compared to some but I think it's enough to be credible in this review).
Let's start with the comedy. The comedy is fantastic. I usually don't laugh out loud whenever I watch funny things. The most that I'll do
...
is just smile. But Kaguya-sama: Love is War, is different. I've laughed out loud several times while watching this show. Even when I'm not, I'm either smiling 'til my whole face hurts or nearly crying at the emotional parts. I'll get into that later. There is no dull moment. The pacing is wonderful, not too fast that you're not sure what's going on, but not too slow that you're falling asleep while you're watching it. The comedic timing is perfect too. The creators of this show know exactly what they're doing in terms of comedy.
Now we'll get onto the emotional parts. The emotional parts, while few, they steal the spotlight without any trouble. Despite being a comedy, the deeper, more emotional moments of the show are some of if not the best moments. They don't feel out of place either. MINOR SPOILERS For example, Kaguya wanting to see fireworks, while not explicitly stated until the part was shown, there are hints all over the place that her family is messed up. It sounds confusing since I went from fireworks to family, but once you watch the show you'll know what I mean. That entire episode was one of my favorites as well, and the comedy was actually kept to a minimum, proving the writers could not only pull off a flawless comedy, they could also pull off a tear-jerker without a sweat.
The characters are all great. The entire main cast has a lot of depth, each with their own unique and quirky personality types. Kaguya is very stiff, very formal, etc, but when she's driven by emotion she turns into an idiot. Shirogane presents himself as a perfect student in front others, but in reality he too can be an idiot when it comes to love. Ishigami, well, you'll see. Iino is also like Shirogane, although a lot less flexible when it comes to rule breaking... unless someone compliments her or is nice to her. There's a lot more, so this is extremely simplified. Obviously the best way to find out how great the characters are is to just watch it.
I've seen someone say that the characters don't progress or develop. Oh boy, can you be more wrong. Just wait. You can't force characters to evolve in episode 1. It has to be gradual, otherwise it isn't natural. It feels very natural in this show. However, it doesn't happen until a lot later into the series, you'll have to read the manga for that. Even so, there are still minor character developments throughout the series. The most notable one isn't very minor, it's a pretty big one, that being Ishigami. The smaller ones would be Kaguya and Shirogane. If you compare them from the beginning of the series to where the anime is right now, you'll see they are actually quite different.
Overally, this is seriously a 10/10 anime. There is not a single dull moment, the comedy, romance, characters, etc, are all executed perfectly. This is the #1 show I'd recommend to anyone, whether or not you like rom-coms. I guarantee you will enjoy it, unless you're a toxic fanboy that trashes on any other anime that isn't their favorite show, which probably applies to about half the people on MAL.

Erika and Karen are down bad and delusional girls. They seriously need mental help, but their stupidity is exactly what makes it enjoyable.
Erika is obsessed with Kaguya to the point where she needs a therapist or some kind of psychological help. She also likes miso a little too much.
Karen fantasizes about the ship between Student Council President Shirogane and the Vice President Kaguya to the point where she also needs some kind of psychological help.
Their interactions together are extremely funny. While one of them fantasizes about their obsession, the other one questions what an idiot they are. They also like to drag Hayasaka
...
in, and force her to partake in their... questionable fan club.
That's basically what you need to know if you want to read it.
This manga is so funny I've laughed out loud several times while reading it.
Their facial expressions are always funny, the author knows exactly what the perfect expression would be to give the strongest effect on the reader.
It's very hard to explain comedy. Basically, it's really funny, I hope it never ends, as it is one of the sole providers of joy to my life right now. Go read it if you like comedy.

HoriMiya is a fun, relaxing, wholesome anime.
Almost all the of the main cast is fleshed out and given depth. The two protagonists, Miyamura and Hori, are both very loveable, and they make a great couple. Their interactions together can be either wholesome or funny, but either way, it's a guarantee that you will enjoy it when they're on screen. But even without them in the spotlight, the supporting cast can do just as well, sometimes even better, at bringing life to the story. All the characters feel real and relatable in some way.
The story is simple yet engaging. The idea of the story is
...
very basic, and while that may be a turnoff for many, I think it's great. It's somehow able to make such a basic idea of a show into a fan favorite romance anime. Even though the series is only 13 episodes long, those 13 episode told a story that is saved deep into my heart.
The art does a fantastic job of conveying the emotions and the mood of each scene. I'm no expert on art, but I can say it looks clean, and it does a perfectly good job of doing what its meant to. Of course it's not going to be as flashy as something like Demon Slayer in terms of art and animation, as this isn't an action anime, but its subtle details do just fine as well.
It's very enjoyable too, the comedy is on point, the romance is realistic and not overly-romanticized, overall, it's one of my favorite anime of all time. I could rewatch it several times and not get bored of it.
