Both stories share main characters with strong-willed determinations to get back home from their "isekai situation". To the point, some would say they're pretty "extreme". The heroines in both stories also have... "dark" personalities, I would describe. Not to say they're evil or anything, just that they're very different from the typical mary-sue or ditzy/relatable girl-next-door personality. They're both in desperate situations that take their toll on both of them psychologically to the point you're left wondering that even IF they returned home, would they even be okay? Both stories as of now, have a pretty unique storytelling compared to most isekai manhwa with similar plotlines. These two stories also have 3 love interests but go in major different directions with them than the typical love triangles. If you like one of these stories, you'll probably like the other!

Both protagonists grapple with the fact(?) that their parents are manipulative, murderers and go through the dramas of school life while trying to figure out how to "Beat" or get away from their parents, all the while fighting their OWN inner-demons. Both stories have drama, suspense, mystery, and horror (one more so than the other). But their main similarity is the psychological themes that both stories strongly share. If you enjoyed the other story you might like this one too!

Both very silly, have the same type of humor, have main characters that share a similar type of vibe (as well as side characters), and although the two anime have entirely different plots, they're so in sync, that honestly, the main characters may as well be alternate versions of each other.

Both period anime. Both feature sweet main characters who are stepping into situations their society would consider taboo. Both feature a similar type of atmosphere and storytelling that is alike. If you liked one of these anime, I suggest you try the other out!

Both make fun of the "Magical Girl" anime trope, with good humor and in no way bash the trope despite this. While BKCBL pokes fun at the trope and in a way takes itself (slightly) seriously. MSO completely roasts the trope and is more self-aware of itself. Both center around making the "magical girls" into males, but play it out very differently. Both share boys taking on girly outfits, using girly wands, and crying out girly attack names... the list of tropes goes on... If you enjoyed one anime poking fun at the magical girl trope, you'll probably enjoy the other doing so too.

Both share a similar sense of comedy, so much so, I couldn't help thinking about DKnN while watching CnT. One is centered around high school boys and the other being centered around a high school girl. Both are really silly and poke fun at "relatable" scenarios with added mischief. You could place an episode from one anime into the other and hardly tell the difference, theme-wise, that it's from another anime. Atmosphere and characters are both alike. I like to imagine both anime take place in the same world... wouldn't be surprised if Chio and Hidenori were somehow related... CnT has a bit more adult humor compared to DKnN though. But other than that, there are hardly any differences between these two anime. If you enjoyed one of these anime I strongly recommend you give the other a try.

Two red-haired heroines. Both loaded with plenty of fantasy and drama. *coughs* nonhuman love interests *coughs*. Great storytelling and character development. Both touch deep elements in their storytelling and take their viewers seriously. Oh, and great soundtracks! If you enjoyed one, you might really enjoy the other anime.

Where do I even begin on the similarities between these two. Both plots have the main character getting into trouble with cats and have the threat of being turned into a cat also! Both could easily take place in the same universe. The cats in Nyan Koi could easily be cats you see in The Cat Returns (attitude and personality wise). If you enjoyed one of these animes go check the other out if you haven't already!

Both stories have the main characters journey to a whole different realm. Also, humans are considered to bring misfortune to anybody who comes in contact and should be avoided. Plus, there's the side note of very strange and similar-looking creatures in both of these anime. Both are very touching anime that teach good moral lessons to those watching. I suggest seeing this if you enjoyed this anime :D
