Hmm.. How to describe this anime? Well the word strange pops into mind. To make it easier (on me) I'll use a general format in reviewing.
Story:6
Well the story is interesting at least and it does have a story going for it. The concept is not totally original and that's fine, but what bothered me about the story was the authors constant (overstatement) reminder of what it is based on. While it is good for an author to give credit and I like that, the story is also it's own.
Art:9
About the art, it's good no complaints. The background is crisp and clear
...
and detailed and the characters are appealing. The two main characters, especially are very appealing that is one thing that interested me that the author had done. And it's not just because they are bishounen either.
Character:9
Along with using the art, the author has established the characters, especially, again the two main characters. I found way more interest in them then most main characters and I ended up looking at them more than the background or anything else. The only problem I had with the way the characters looked is 1. They wore the same clothes for at least half of the show and 2. Why on earth was Hakaze wearing a miniskirt with no tights in the winter? Isn't she cold? She didn't even act cold. (ok back to my review) As far as personality the two main characters were fully established and I really felt a sense of who they were. Aika as well. As for Hakaze and the others they felt a tad cookie cutter to me along with their character design but I was not opposed to them or anything.
Sound: 4
As far as the sound goes it's one of the worst I've seen in a anime. That sounds pretty harsh but it really wasn't that bad, just that sound in most anime's tends to exceptionally good. The OP and ED didn't really fit the anime and it just didn't really work for me with the feeling of the anime. The Music was especially disappointing because it serves usually for 20-30% of my score on an anime. It really matters to me! As far as the background music it was not good, not good at all. Seemed to me they only had 1 or 2 tracks of background music and they just kept repeating them. That wouldn't be so bad except for the fact that they did not use the BG music to help them. For ex. On the serious scenes they would play the same BG music for the not serious scenes and so on. If it didn't hinder those scenes, it certainly did not help them.
Enjoyment and Overall: 7
I didn't find this to be a bad anime at all, it was actually pretty interesting. The characters actually really played into the anime's strength. However the ending to this was disappointing, and this anime didn't have a significant meaning. It played around a lot with ideals, but in the end I never really got a definite opinion, if you know I mean. And in the end I never understood what the author was trying to say.
P.s. This is my first review and in some ways I don't really like this reviewing format but I found it easier in the present moment.
