The premise and the first half of the story really might turn off a lot of people and believe me it did the same to me as well. But there's actually a reason for this behavior. The boy was experiencing everything his father did in his childhood which is making his memories mess up with his father's thus the distasteful crush love started. The second half of the story however completely made a 180° jump and we were given Ninomae as the form of a medicine which would later cure our Male lead from his weird complex. The story is worth reading and very ... enjoyable. The art work is especially one should enjoy reading. The love story which started rather slowly in the second half was unique, different, somewhat realistic and very wholesome. I repeat don't stop reading and continue. You will understand why he is doing this and how big of a character growth he will get in the last few chapters.

Akuma to love song is mostly a pretty good but melodramatic story of a girl who is blunt and straightforward. The first few volumes were pretty good and unique and characters such as shin were the most entertaining but the story slowly going downwards towards the gutter after that. Not only did they decide to introduce the rapist of a 14 year old girl as a sympathetic character, who receives no punishment for his crime, who is forgiven by everyone and who goes on about how he loved his victim. The forgiveness angle would have been bad enough if he had to work for it, ... but the entire package and the way its presented just makes it feel not only vile but entirely, laughably actually, false and artifical. It shatters any suspension of disbelief and really ruined the series I think.

For a guy who doesn't want to turn out like his dad, he is sure taking the same path. Musicians especially in the orchestra have the worst relationships. They have to tour around the world every once in a while and to concentrate and practice they need a place with no one around. The series was kinda straightforward romance drama and if it had stayed the same in the end then it would been far better. Nonetheless it was a good read for a Shoujo genre. The last few chapters were unrealistic in every possible way. Akira not only somewhat forgive him but even agreed ... to train from his dad, who by the way is a sc#m and abandoned his family. Akira's words didn't matched his actions. I still want to know what misunderstanding was that foreigner even trying to say?
