This movie was fabulous. It felt nostalgic since it's been about a year since I've watched the series and it felt good be sucked back into that world but also completely knew. It represented the manga very well and was just as enjoyable experiencing this story a second time around.
STORY - 9
JJK is one of my favorite series in both mediums. I loved this kind of spin on the story, taking a break from the current drama and replaces it with something way different and just as thrilling. There were a few things that kept it from being perfect for me though. I could
...
never run out of good things to say about this movie but i would have liked to see more characters than the 5 main cast and patch some things in the beginning. I understand they try to stay as close to the source material as possible but sometimes it's good to stride away if it means it's going to benefit and move the story forward.
ART - 10
Honestly, i feel no need to comment on this. We all know JJK has amazing art and animation. I do feel like there were some minor changes compared to the series but if it's not in my imagination its miniscule. The animation was superb, and MAPPA never disappoints. This was so much better than the series which already was jaw dropping. Something about these fight scenes made me go absolutely feral. (Especially the Nanami one, I do not need to explain myself.)
SOUND - 10
As usual, flawless. It all felt realistic in the most unrealistic way possible. Maybe because I was in a theater it sounded much more real than it would've otherwise, but I am not complaining, nonetheless. Honestly, the music was one of the best parts of the experience imo. The credits music slapped so hard too.
CHARACTERS - 10
Don't even get me started. impeccable. exquisite. delicious. Every character had a personality and made it clear that even if you haven't seen the show, you can still watch this movie because it explains already introduced characters to where it at least wouldn't be confusing. Being a manga reading I knew things that it doesn't get into but that really doesn't matter. There wasn't nearly enough of the supporting cast. Geto was by far my favorite character purely because this is the first time it tells you his true intention and, in a way, who he actually is rather than just the bad guy; Nanami makes me feel a type of way I never knew I could and didn't get nearly enough screen time.
CONCUSION
I think the only reason i did not give this a 10 is because nothing can overcome what i felt when watching the show. I love the 2nd years and liked seeing them in the past, but I don't think there was enough of them. A part of me feels there should have been more introduction to him and the sorcery part on the JJK world. Don't even think before watching this, just do it. I honestly prefer the manga, but this was almost just as good and makes me anticipate s2 even more.

This experience was a doozy to say the least. I originally wasn't going to write a review for this one because I had assumed all the others would have already said what I was thinking but to my surprise, it's pretty balanced. I finished it within a 24 hour window and don't regret a thing. Although I do admit the pacing can be slower than a turtle at times but I can look past that since the conclusions are so rewarding. I don't think I have ever been this effected by an anime since To Your Eternity. I truly don't even know how to
...
begin summing up why I enjoyed this so much.
Story 10
- The premise takes a unique spin on something that has been done so many times before. The first few episodes were very uneventful and definitely not a strong start to such a memorable experience. Some could argue it spends too much time on world building and the conflicts which I agree with to an extent. I would much rather this than have them rush through everything where that would not work with the type of story it has built for itself. I do admit I am being a bit lean with this part, giving it a 10, but I genuinely believe it deserves it. When I think about the story of an anime, I'm thinking more about the plot, world building, character development, and the overall flow rather than pacing and individual imperfections. The boring moments really feel like a chore to get through but I feel it's only because when it's at its peak, anything else compared can feel underwhelming. The fact that the process of getting through every single arc is so tedious really pays off.
Art 7
- This is sorta what drew me in in the first place I suppose. I haven't really seen anything like it where the art style was so unique yet generic. The characters were done the same but very differently. There wasnt really much astonishing I can point out except for the fact that I was always excited to see new characters. The animation felt like a poorly done flip book at times. It wasn't as breathtaking as I feel it should have been. I would have been way more invested if the fight scenes and just normal things like running(they looked very unnatural) would have been animated with a bit more thought and not just good enough.
Sound 8
- The OP and both endings were amazing. The visuals of the second ending song were beautiful and more often than not would I watch it rather than immediately going to the next episode. The sound effects were crisp and realistic enough for me to believe in that moment that they didn't add in a punching sound effect. The background music was nice as well. It wasn't distracting and never left a scene feeling awkward and more tense than it should be.
Characters 10
- By far my favorite thing about this anime. The strong characters were OP and the weak ones knew they were weak. I felt strong feelings towards all of them, whether positive or not and I found myself paying more attention to a new characters introduction than any other scene. I wouldn't say they has super strong 'villains' character wise, but I definitely felt a hatred for them. I got attached to people I've only seen for 2 episodes and sympathized with those who I hated until then. All of the designs were so appealing and unique and I loved all of the outfits/ uniforms.
Overall 9
- There are obvious reasons I can not give this a 10/10 but is still a favorite in my book. I absolutely fell in love with characters like Mikey, Draken, and Chifuyu faster than I had expected. I 100% recommend this if you are looking for something action packed, gritty, and even a bit mysterious if you wanna stretch that far. I look forward to season 2 can definitely see myself re-watching it many times.
Conclusion/ extra
THIS BIT CONTAINS SPOILERS
I was way more upset than expected when Baji died and definitely felt a piece of my soul leave my body when a Chifuyu was killed at the end. I don't know what made me so attached seeing as though we pretty much only knew him for a couple episodes. The whole time travel thing kinda got confusing at times and the ending felt rushed. I do understand that it is not the end of the anime and the beginning of a new arc but in my opinion, I believe they could have spent more time with it and explained where everyone was and why we were there instead of shoving us into everything so quickly. In the end, this was definitely my ideal.
This is all coming from someone whom has not red the manga nor seen past where the anime ends as of the first season.

This is probably one of the few anime I've seen that I can't tell if I like it or not. I do appreciate a BL when i come across one and often find them either being creepy or cute, sometimes even both, as odd as that can sound. This one was a very hit or miss in my opinion. For the short summary, do I think you should go out of your way to watch it? No, not really.
please remember, this is purely my OPINION. Do not feel obligated to agree with me, you like what you like.
Story
- I like the premise.
...
I find the jobs they do to be very interesting and quite creepy at times. Although I definitely feel like they rushed into it, I suppose there are a handful of anime that start off very quickly like this but I feel this time it didn't flow nearly as well as it should've, I often got confused and had to re-watch multiple scenes but maybe that's just a me problem. I'd prefer if they had spent a good amount of time getting into his life currently before introducing Hiyakawa and gradually get him into the exorcist lifestyle over the first few episodes rather than being like "hey you're gonna work for me cause you have good eyesight" "okay".
Art/ animation
- It gives me very much early 2000's vibes. It's not that I dislike the art style, it's just not my favorite. The animation is nothing breath taking. Not good nor bad. I realize I never really have anything specific to say but that's because I don't see anything particular to bring up. It was just meh to look at; sometimes certain angles that could have been proportioned better threw me off as well.
Sound
- Most of the experience was average. I appreciate the realism of sound in some of the scenes like what it sounds like to talk through glass, the wind, and even fear. I was not a fan of the opening. I feel the visuals didn't fit the show itself and music got annoying once you heard it over and over again. I suppose it can be common in anime songs, where they are completely random to the show, but i prefer when the OP's have the same tone as the show, I don't care as much when it's the ending. (JJK is a good example).
Characters
- None of them ever stood out to me. Hiyakawa was creepy and possessive (which is the point) and Mikado relied on him too much. Mukae in a way, was plain(although I sourta liked him) and Erika was overall the most enjoyable. I do like how mysterious the characters are, especially Hiyakawa and find myself being interested when learning more about him. Every other character seemed to blend in and I easily forgot about them.
Overall
- Every episode felt the same. I wouldn't say it's a poor excuse for a BL but there are definitely others I would recommend before this. The two main characters dynamic does get better over time but I keep finding myself disliking Hiyakawa. This anime is nothing special and almost want to read the manga to see how it compares. There's was very little that made it stick out to me and only kept watching it to see what would happen to Mikado seeing as though is love interest was so toxic, even said in the anime. The BL aspect is definitely there but I never found myself wishing they would fall in the and grow old together like I did with others, even ones where the love interest was never deliberately pointed out.
Conclusion
- I try to find good things to say about every anime I watch but this was a hard one. It was mediocre at best. I will be finishing it based on the fact that I'm already this far and a part of me hopes the last couple of episodes will give it redemption. I really really wanted to like this one, based on the fact that the plot is something I'd love; but was sadly disappointed.

Technically, No. 6 is a shonen ai despite not being listed as one on MAL and is a poor excuse for one. I do admit, I found myself rooting for them more often than once but there was no buildup to their relationship. I would like to associate it with 'Banana Fish' because neither anime deliberately said "hey they like each other" during the experience. I was almost tempted to recommend it if you liked Banana Fish but i don't think I would recommend something that i didn't enjoy nearly as much. Is it a bad anime? No, it was rather enjoyable if I'm being
...
honest, but would I recommend it to my worst enemy? Also no because then I would be bullied for my trash taste.
Story 7
- I love the plot and they could have done some much with it but some how failed. There were multiple story lines in this anime that went absolutely nowhere or were unexplained/ unnecessary at the least. If they would've added more characters I feel it would have been more enjoyable. The two's love story was it's own thing, I almost don't even want to call it love. Throughout the entire thing except the last two episodes, Rat was just a plain jerk. You can tell they are trying to insinuate that he is growing feelings for Sion but that is impossible when he had no vulnerable moments except when he spaces out.
Art/Animation 5
- Mediocre at best. I was hoping since the art was nothing special there would be at least a few scenes that were visually aesthetic but that never happened. The animation felt okay, nothing impressive and nothing too bad that I have to point out or even remember at that.
Sound 4
- The sound was not enjoyable. The opening, in my opinion wasn't very bad and was nice visually as well but the soundtrack isn't even in the same category. The music was too loud to where it was almost too hard to focus on the characters at times and it often made me feel like i was watching a cartoon. More often than not, it would have at least like 3 tunes playing at once but despite all that, it got better throughout and I found it easy to ignore it.
Characters 5
- Everyone was annoying. I liked Shion, the rats, and the dogs. Dog keepers only personality trait was "I love dogs and don't want to die" (I did enjoy her the most despite), Rikiga was scared of everything, Rat was an ass, and Safu was the most annoying chick I've ever seen. All she did was complain about how she wanted Shion, got in everyone's business, and when she doesn't get her way, she blames it on someone else. The mother was nothing worth remembering- I do give her props for being a good parent though.
-My Thoughts On The Ending-
-THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS-
The ending was half assed. I think killing off both Shion and Rat would have been good or at least let Shion die and leave Rat being a "changed man". But then they incorporated magic into a sci-fi. After that, I had hope for an ideal ending but was very disappointed. They had one lazy kiss as their idea for confessing to each other and decided to part ways for absolutely no reason then Shion got a kid- what is happening. That whole part with his mom being involved went literally no where, like at all. And the whole conclusion with Safu being connected to that one thing was completely unnecessary but I didn't like her anyway so it's fine. I also don't get why Rat was trying to convince Shion he was just using him and never cared that whole time, saying there was no hope for them to be with each other, what was the point.
Conclusion
- Overall, I give it a 5, rather generous. There were many parts where I laughed in cringe, yes that is possible. This was definitely not the worst thing I've seen and I am not afraid to admit I enjoyed most of it, but that's about all. The plot was wasted and it's painful to imagine what it could have been. I'm just glad there was no CGI, we all know how that would have gone.

Despite not being a huge fan of the Isekai genre, I really enjoyed what is out(as of Nov 13) of 'The World's Finest Assassin'. I usually find myself growing bored of Isekai's and even the fantasy genre because they always share the same tropes and generic characters; this is different. I hurried to the next episodes and dreaded coming to the end of my binge. The series has a long way to go but already has a good start.
Story 8
- The story and pacing was probably my favorite part of the experience so far. It's quite refreshing to see that the main character
...
was OP before being Isekai'd with a bunch of power up's and magic. Although i want to see him older and defeat the hero, I'm happy with how slowly its going, unlike others that solve a problem within 2 episodes. It takes you through every experience he has, from learning spells, training, and even his thought process.
Art/ Animation 7
- The art was boring. Yes, it is appealing to look at and the scenery was lovely but also very generic and rather ununique. I loved seeing all of their facial expressions and clothing designs but I cannot point out anything extortionary about the art style.
The animation is nothing impressive either but also very clean. It doesn't look choppy, become low quality, or unrealistic but nor did I ever go back just to see the characters movements and analyze the impact the animations made towards how the scenes flowed.
Sound 9
- I adored the soundtrack. The opening is already one of my favorites, sound and visuals. Every episode had a tune that you could argue fits the scene but none really stand out to me, they all remind me of each other but despite that, I found myself zoning out into the music rather watching the show.
Characters 7
- I was extremely fond of the fact that it didn't introduce you to every character in episode 1. I do complain that most of the females have the same personality traits and that 'depend on the main character because he's so amazing' type of mindset. Other than the few flaws, I found them pretty enjoyable and have already begin to dislike and root for certain characters. Although I am hoping Lough will be less straight faced and show his emotions more often.
Conclusion
- Considering the state of the anime, I cannot give a 100% review on my opinion, but I do feel very few things will change. It is not my idea of a perfect show by any means but is definitely ideal and can for sure see myself getting engulfed in future episodes and any characters/ arcs to come.
