---CAUTION---
------------------------------------------SPOILERS AHEAD----------------------------------------------
After reading the entire full tale of this so called "Domestic Girlfriend" i have come to several conclusions.
The first thing that came to my mind when i finished reading this manga was: "And so that was it ?" , don't get me wrong i loved and cherished this story until the very end for various reasons, but i
...
think the ending even for the most tolerant was a train of emotions, one of the strongest of those emotions being a complete shock.
Given the fact that this manga gave me a rollercoaster of emotions all the through the end, i still have mixed feelings about it. I want to say i don't really mind the fact that natsuo ended up having a child with rui and then married hina, but i just can't cut it. I never tried to take a side on the waifu battle trough the reading of the manga, but when rui started getting a lot of character development i found myself enjoying her character more and more. I liked her more than hina because she had the spotlight for a while and that spotlight made me realize how full of emotions rui was, even though a lot of people prefer hina because they believe rui is clingy and all, i still think i prefer rui, and some of it has got to do with that too! All those emotions she experienced, some stronger than others, and some more "annoying than others" i enjoyed taking part on them as reader a lot! I think those kind of emotions are needed for us humans, i mean if life was just a perfect game without downsides it would also be a whole lot more boring wouldn't it? At least that's what i think.
All this talk about rui was just to enhance the fact that i do feel remorse for the fact that she did not end up with natsuo and instead hina did. The fact that the story ended not only like that but with natsuo still having rui's child and marrying hina was kind of a turn off for me. Once again i still loved this manga and i can't just say i didn't like it because of the end, i can't let go unheard of all the emotions i felt through the entirety of this manga. (For example: togen-sensei's death, it made me cry a lot to be honest, and i don't ususally cry)
So what can you, the viewer looking for a review, extract from this? Should you read it? Should you not?
Here's the straight up answer: Yes, i think you should.
The ending did not define the entire manga, and it definitely did not make all the other emotions felt through the manga disappear. Love, Hate, Regret, Remorse, Hapiness, Sadness, Kindness, Jealousy, Greed... This was just a mere glimpse of what I felt while reading this, and to that i have only one thing to say to the author:
Thank you Kei Sasuga, for giving me the oppurtunity to feel all the things the characters in your story felt. And no matter how hard some critiques might be, don't worry about them, keep writing and keep creating stories like these for readers like us to emerge ourselves into, keep creating these worlds that are only possible to create with the help of our imaginations, please.
Thank you for your work!
