So to preface, I only made it 9 chapters in and got annoyed and had to stop.
Full disclosure, this was my first foray into BL since I was a teenager. As a gay man, I'm aware that BL is pretty much gay romance written by women for women, and I'm not the target demographic. But since I'd recently gotten into straight webtoons I thought I might as well try one out. This was the first one I tried, and gotta say I should heed the demographic more in the future.
I saw the other review on here says their relationship is 'healthy and wholesome',
...
and while I did not get to the relationship part I can only assume seasoned BL fans can think this because they're so desensitized to horribly written couples that this looks good in comparison. In essence: My beef with BL is that it will have all the same pitfalls of the carbon-copy annoying love interest, but with the added frustration of: It's not sexual harassment if the victim is a man!
Basically, the plot of this one is that a kinda shitty, shallow, salaryman getting harassed at work because he wasn't attracted to someone in high school. The manwha frames this as a moral failing on the protagonist, and we're meant to be amused that his shallow taste is biting him in the ass.
The boss is a total creep, obsessing over him for years and specifically using his position over him to take revenge for being rejected 10 years ago. No amount of sparkles you put in his cutesy teen self or angst over being too short will make up for the very simple fact that 'No' is a complete sentence and you're a freak if you take it out on someone professionally a decade later. I really dont care if the protag is secretly into it or if their relationship is cute once the freak boss gets what he wants, the protagonist should have gone to HR for sexual harassment in chapter 3.
