To paraphrase Shakespeare: Love and Lies, how do I loathe thee, let me count the ways. This anime is what happens when the unpopular kid from middle school takes a creative writing course and misses the creative part. Despite the beautiful art and soundtrack, this show cannot rescue itself from the unrealistic cringe-fest that it is.

Mixed Feelings
Special A came out in 2008 when I was first falling in love with anime, which is why I was rather surprised I had never heard of it before. Having watched it now, I realize that I hadn't missed much.

Story: Calling this a poor knockoff of Kaichou Wa Maid-Sama wouldn't exactly be fair, as this show came out two years prior, but it is difficult not to compare the two. This was an incredibly touching story that the summary description does not give nearly enough credit to. I tried this after noticing it just finished and thinking the art was kinda cute; it had cute girls so that was justification enough to at least give it a shot. And it was a good choice: the art was cute, not breath taking, but cute, and the story was very funny at first. However, it would be a mistake to think this is all fun and games.
