I enjoyed the first season, though I wasn't as over the moon as many others seemed to be. It was fun, mocking classical isekai plots, but the second season totally falls flat. The plot is as nonsensical as the first season, but this time it doesn't feel ironic, resulting in long exposition heavy scenes that are just really boring. The animation budget has been reduced, too. the comedy isn't as funny anymore and to cover for that, they massively increased the cringe and ecchie levels, which isn't for everyone, certainly not for me. After 6 episodes, I really wanted to drop this show and I
...
somehow forced me through episodes 7 and 8. Honestly, I do not get what anyone gets out of this. The anime has turned into what it was trying to parody in season one, and at this point it's just sad and feels like a cashgrab.

Mostly Spoiler Free.
This movie was not made for me, since I do not have TikTok. A lot of the focus of this movie is on Music and dance choreography, and I just do not care. If you are like me and find those Dances a bit cringy, some sequences of this movie are hard to get through.
First, let's talk about the good things. The movie was mostly animated on a good to very good level. Little sakuga like we got with the finale of Wano and some CGI Models that stuck out a bit, but the finale was beautful and many art decisions, like the
...
new character outfits, were really good. It is definetly a visually pleasing movie.
Sadly, the same cannot be said about the story. Overall, it is pretty simple: This Idol Uta uses music to cast Eternal Tsukuyomi.
This is an oversimplification, there is a reason for her actions, but the story is anything but deep. In fact, it often feels like you look at the backbone of a story that could have been a good but basic story for a one piece movie if developed beyond the first few drafts. It really feels like the writers didn't care a lot. Instead, the focus was on giving every single important character a cameo, just to get some hype from the fanbase, which began to feel jarring, especially regarding the relationship between characters that felt wrong.
This need to cram in as much as possible made the pacing way too fast, which is wierd to say as a One Piece fan. Everything was so fast and the good moments were soon met with something stupid and I was barely able to build up any sympathy for the character of Uta before she was revealed to be fucking crazy and basically Obito.
This basically the moment I also realised, what I was watching. This movie was not ment to be watched. This movie is way too fast for that. It's also not cohesive, it avoids storytelling thoughout the movie at most points. This movie is made to be consumed in the form of 30 second clips on TikTok, Reels or Shorts. Not at a homescreen or a theatre, on the phone while you are scrolling. Just take a short, senseless fight from the movie, add one of the multiple original songs from Uta in the Background and have someone do the fitting choreography thats also in the movie in front of it, that was the vision when this movie was made. Once I came to that realisation, it all made sense, but I lost all interest left in me. I actually had to take 3 attempts to get through it because I began to fall asleep all the time.

Isekai de Cheat Skill wo Te ni Shita Ore wa, Genjitsu Sekai wo mo Musou Suru: Level Up wa Jinsei wo Kaeta (what a name) is maybe the most self-gratulating anime I have ever seen. This anime is "and then everybody clapped - the Anime". If this is what you want, pure wishfullfillment, you don't have to use your brain at all, it's just the show for you.
The plot of the anime follows the overweight bullied highschool boy Yuuya who has just a horrible life but then he finds a secret basement in the house he inherited from his grandpa and in this basement is
...
a portal to an isekai world but he already has everything and is op and he levels up quickly and becomes the coolest and strongest and ...
So, now that our relatable chubby guy has turned into the strongest, most handsomes, most desirable man alive, the show is basically just a chain of things that happen to him that make him look as good as possible. Like, he beats bad people up. He safes a princess. He safes another girl. He safes another girl. He is very good as stuff. Everybody claps. Thats it.
The show switches between the real world and the isekai world and show how he builds a harem on both sides. There is little interactions between the worlds and the whole gimmick of having an OP Isekai Protagonist that can go back at will is rarely used at all beyond "He is very good at things." He uses magic in the real world like once, and other then that, it basically only matters in regards of yuuyas calender.
If you enjoy this kind of story, then this is the show for you, but I believe most people see this show as the trash that it is.
The animation is okay, sometimes even good. But in the isekai world, they portray the MC mainly with a CGI puppet that just doesn't look good, especially in long slow shots. The artstyle is overall consistent and all the harem members are distinctable characters, so thats something, I guess.
I really want to shit on this show a bit more because it is just that masturbatory and cringe, but a part of me enjoys anime like that. It is bad. It is really bad. But it knows that and fully commits to being just so bad it is hard not to admire it.
Also, the Opening is a banger track. 4/10

The start of the show doesn't try to hide that they definetly have a certain target audience, but once you manage to get through the first 2 episodes the sus stuff mostly stops and under that is a really well done slice of life story exploring gender identity in a way that feels totally natural and relatable. Also, the production value is increadibly high, and shows like this that rely on the characters emotions as a narrative tool profit a LOT from expressive facial animations and beautiful artdesign. The characters are somewhat unique, somewhat clichee, but none are in any way offensive or annoying, so
...
its easy to enjoy them just having fun together and vibing mostly. The character design is overall on a pretty high level, everyone is easily recognisable, even side characters. The stories are, well, its a slice-of-life story, so its nothing intense or epic, but the show still manages to pull at your heartstrings and makes you just enjoy cute girls doing cute things. Also, the japanese voice actress for Mahiro is doing a great job, with a huge range of emotions in her acting. Just skip the opening like I do, since there are a lot of... lets call it "unpleasant" shots in there.

After a stellar first season, this one was kind of disappointing. While I recognise that the season went full on into shakespearean themed writing, I have to feel like the basic storytelling of the first season was left behind. Because I don't want to spoil anything that happenes, I will talk about what doesn't happen this season, and why that disappoints me.
First of all, and most importantly, the whole romance subplot (if you can even call it that in season 1, it was basically the main plot) is just gone. The main character seems to loose all interest in the cute bunny girl and their
...
romance doesn't develope in any way. Its not like they have a real falling apart over a certain issue, it feels more like the writers just wanted to write something different, so gone is the romance (which was for me the main reason the first season was so attractive). With dear-senpais dissappearing, there should be a lot to be told about her feeling of loss and Legoshis conflict of interest, deepening how the story explored the vulnerability of characters, but no, the show does nothing of that sort and just goes full on... well, I won't spoil that.
Also, what also doesn't happen is a satisfying conclusion. Everything feels just way too... out there. You remember when you were young and didn't understand way certain people would behave in the way they do, because you didn't get how motivations work? I get this feeling watching this as an adult, because the motivations are there, just hidden under layers of philosophy, so far detached from reality that it makes you wonder if this could really be such a strong motivator to go as far as some people do here. It seems less believable, less immersive, less relatable. Everybody is suddenly a larger than life figure, and that really hurt the tone of the show.
But I don't want to just trash this season. Its still better than your average anime. It has great animation and sound, and really good character writing, just the story and the overall enjoyment had to suffer in order to get the pieces into position. Which is sad. Often the simpler, more relatable stories are the one that leave the bigger impact. When season 1 was over, I literally felt lovesick for this wonderfull story. When season 2 was over, I also wanted more, but just so this show could redeem itself and have a satisfying conclusion, not whatever this was.
