I watched this as a joke because I'm familiar with the game, manga, and live action movie, not to mention the episodes are shorts, so you can finish watching the whole thing within an hour...... But WHY? Why does this exist? The animation is poor, the story tries to be funny but it comes off as cheap, and after about 3 episodes in the voice acting just sucks.

Save your time and eyes, once you've watched about 3 episodes you've seen all that this anime has to offer. The anime tries to make a joke of the game and characters by having them die in ... each episode in weird ways. It's supposed to be comical but comes off as cheesy. The animation honestly looks like something that can be done with a cell phone app.

I honestly want to know just how this anime came to be lol.

Now I have read so many different options on this anime and people seem to love it or trash it. In my option many people go in thinking its gonna be one thing when its not. the story's not really apocalyptic as in zombies and monsters but as in a modern day dystopia. The manga is also pretty every on the si-fi close to where the anime ends.

The problem I see people talk about with Coppelion the most is it's pacing. The first 3-5 episodes focuses are single stories to help create world building and I can understand how you go from that to the ... main plot and feel kinda weird. But its not as bad as other popular anime's (Tokyo ghoul not a bad show but the pacing for the first season is weird) Now the other problem I find with the show is the 3 main female characters. Aoi is especially I understand why she's winy (because she doesn't know what her power is) But people who only watch the anime and haven't/don't want to read the manga won't know that and that's a problem with any anime that tries to build characters but runs out of time due to episode restrictions.

Now the good stuff I love the look to this anime, every review I've read says the animation is amazing and its true! It feels very trunoble. The Next thing is the story. Its feels like if the Fukushima nuclear power plant disaster happened but in Tokyo; And instead of it being "contained" Things just got out of hand leaving the whole city to become a toxic waste land The thought that went into the story is very fun. The manga does have the problem of feeling kinda slow because they add so much info on why things are happing, but the anime fixed that right up. (too much world building but also kinda needed) idk if this is why people say the pacing for the show is weird idk it seems fine to me.

In all I have given it a high mark because its a unique story (hard to come by nowadays with every anime feeling so similar) But also because I really enjoyed it. Yes it has some problems but nothing big enough to wreck the viewing experience.

OK! I'm first gonna start off by saying that "for anime based on an otome game it's not that bad" I've played the game and I watched the anime when it was first airing and have rewatched it a few other times. I can see where they were going with the story and how she never really goes for one guy (that's usually how it is with reverse harem anime, any ways) but it honestly makes sense because there different timelines and worlds, to begin with. I do kinda wish they could have gone more into each character's routes or not have changed the original ... story for them. Like for Ikki's and Ukyo's episodes they have very vague parts of the original story and scenes that are cgs put in, but the context behind it is weird compared to the original story.

Final thoughts are for an anime adaptation of an otome game, it's actually pretty good.

I would first like to say that the story isn't the same old one based on Disney which I really liked. the Cinderella in this story is also super sweet but also complains unlike other versions of Cinderella where she just doesn't talk about her struggles, this girl is more open.

OK and now the real point of this review... I first watched this anime in dub and I couldn't help but notice that throughout over half the movie, there's a generic bird chirping sound. like in the background noise it's birds chirping I found it super annoying once I noticed it and wonder if ... it was the same with the Japanese. I couldn't actually find the Japanese dub of it so idk if it is? it's just a weird thing. It's not just the copy I watched, everywhere that I've seen this movie it's the same lol. But if you can get past that this is actually a really great Cinderella movie.

Ok so being a fan of the original game I thought that an anime for this series would be great, to get more people into it. The game was originally an otome game so it's not too hard to follow the main plot of the story. This was such a mess... I can't express how disappointed I was when I first watched this. The story is very different from the plot of the man game which was kinda straight forward so I don't know how this mess was made. Even going in with an open mind just the story they used in the anime was ... weak and basic. A positive is that the colours are nice and are kinda cool because the game uses lots of colours, but everything else is bad. I would honestly just suggest playing the game. It's so much better, you can play it on steam in English.

The only reason I marked this low is that for a movie I did not feel it had much-rewatch value. I find for a movie that you have to have some rewatch in it, and I just don't feel it with this movie. you watch it once and your good.

BUT! I got to say I love all the music in this movie. If you haven't seen the live performance of "sparkle" I really suggest you watch it on youtube.

The characters are fine but I wasn't really attached to any of them. But the biggest problem I find with this movie is the ending. ... I personally did not like the ending at all. there are just too many questions that are unanswered. I personally just don't like that.
