Why can't we just have a female MMA/martial art story like Teppuu. Why does it have to be a 60 year old man reincarnating into a highschool girl and becoming a fighter instead? Could've just had a girl find MMA during a tough time in her life and pursuing a passion. Rikudou and Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru did it but here we get a old old man in a highschoolers body seeing what happened to her and getting his commentary. I do not need to know how this old man feels in her body. It's just weird man. Art is nice to which is disappointing
...
because it's wasted on a mid story.

I enjoyed this anime and give it a solid 8.
Art (10), Sound (10), and Enjoyment (8): The vibe of this anime feels very grungy and underground. Rough, experimental, and pushing boundaries. Its vibe is accentuated by how closely it imitates anime from the late 80's and 90's (hyper sexualised and violent). Acid trip visuals with a unique score that elevates the animation. It may be hyper sexualised and violent but it's done as a modernized homage to the original Devilman.
Story (7): Starts off as a monster of the week and half way through becomes more serious and plot driven. Problem is... the transition from monster
...
of the week to seriousness is jarring. It’s not smooth and some of the “symbolism” is just too vague.
Characters (6): Most of them are pretty basic and one dimensional which is alright but the Christian father has some good layers to him (like an onion). Specifically episode 8 which really slaps.
Overall (8): The vibe is nice and has a feeling of rawness that isn't found in many anime. I can't explain rawness but I feel the same "rawness" whenever I watch Re:Zero and Parasite. Good visual, sound, and overall enjoyment.
TL;DR: Applause to Masaaki Yuasa for somehow being able to make a 50 year old manga new and refreshing.

This is the only manga I have ever read that gave me the same chills and vibes that a really good H.P Lovecraft short story gives. The art further exemplifies this effect causing shivers to go down your spine at certain panels and key points.
The first 3 chapters (Spiral Obsession pt. 1, pt. 2, and the scar) are probably the best chapters of the whole manga while chapters 12 (the storm) - 19 (completion) are the chapters that really delve into the H.P Lovecraft vibe.
The first 11 chapters are used as little 1 to 2 chapter short stories to give you an eerie idea
...
of what's going on. Slowly building up the question of whether something otherworldly or humanely incomprehensible is going on and it does this really well. As you go further into the first 11 chapters crazier and crazier stuff starts happening until finally we reach the aforementioned chapter 12. This is when all the crazy stuff starts to line up and give you something.
Chapters 6 (Medusa), 10 (mosquitoes) and 11 (the umbilical cord) are also really good and deserve a mention.
TL;DR if you like H.P Lovecraft, horror, good art or a unique story you should check this out. If you hate all of the points I just stated you should still check this manga out. Its really good at setting up and executing that eerie other worldly vibe that you get from H.P Lovecraft, and by using Junji Ito's art style it because visually horrifying at points.

I'll keep it short.
Its a great mystery plotline mixed in with a well handled large cast of characters. And if you're worried you shouldn't be because the ending was done with extreme care and all loose ends were tied up. If you're a fan of mystery drama's that slowly unfold while you try to unravel the mystery yourself I highly recommend this series.
My recommendations while watching the anime: If you can you should skim the episode discussion on a forum page and listen to the audio dramas. After each episode was released a small 1-2 minute audio drama was released on alongside it on the
...
"Odd Taxi's" official YouTube channel which slightly fleshed out the story and provided more details and perspectives on the mystery that was unfolding.
Official "Odd Taxi" WireTap Pen Audio Drama Youtube Channel: オッドタクシーOfficial
There's also a guy named "generic nostalgia" who uploaded fan English translations for audio drama.
You could also check out the official twitter account that was made for one of the characters in the anime though a deep dive into may provide too many spoilers.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis The Wise? I thought not. It’s not a story the Jedi would tell you. It’s a Sith legend. Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and so wise he could use the Force to influence the midichlorians to create life… He had such a knowledge of the dark side that he could even keep the ones he cared about from dying. The dark side of the Force is a pathway to many abilities some consider to be unnatural. He became so powerful… the only thing he was afraid of was losing his
...
power, which eventually, of course, he did. Unfortunately, he taught his apprentice everything he knew, then his apprentice killed him in his sleep. Ironic. He could save others from death, but not himself
tl;dr great movie. All you need to know going in is that the author/director made this movie while he was questioning his faith. There are many interpretations and perspectives as to what the movie is actually about and technically all of them are right and wrong cause the author doesn't even know what this shit means. There is a lot of Christian subtext as well as some Japanese cultural/Shinto subtext as well though minimal compared to the Christian subtext.
tl;dr of my tl;dr - Shit slaps with great art, ambiguous story, and phenomenal ambient score.

Summary of review: Art is amazing(100/10). Characters are bland and 1 note. Near the ending the characters make uncharacteristic decisions which are then poorly explained. Aside from the last 2 arcs the manga itself is a fun read if your can turn your brain off. Action is decent as well.
Story 5 - Decent: Starts off pretty fun but as time goes on it slowly starts to fall off. Arcs don't really feel like they're connected and instead they feel like stand alone stories. The final arc is also pretty whack. There is no overall goal that any character really wants to accomplish. The ending lacks
...
any emotional reward that a regular ending should have. Since there isn't any foreshadowing it makes no sense why certain situations are occurring or why certain characters make random 180 degree personality decision especially in the final arc. Sometimes a character will make a random uncharacteristic decision and they just roll with it for an arc and then retcon it all by giving some half assed explanation even though there was no evidence of that actually happening.
Art 10 - I genuinely do not believe words can define the magnificence of Boichi's art! The art is of the same caliber as Takehiko Inoue's Vagabond, Shin Ichi Sakamoto's Innocent, Tomo Takeuchi's Ballroom E Youkoso, or Kentaro Miura's Berserk. Body anatomy is superb, and the detail is unparalleled!
Characters 4 - Decent: The characters are serviceable until the second half of the story. That's when they start making unexplained uncharacteristic decisions with no explanation or hit of malice. Which is all then retconned with a half assed explanation and flashbacks which don't really explain much.
Enjoyment 7 - Good: It's quite an enjoyable fighting gang manga but unfortunately it falls off in the last 2 arcs. But if you can turn your brain off and just enjoy it for what it is then you'll probably like it.
Total score: 7
Scoring Math: 5+10+4+7.5 = 26/40 = 6.5 -> 7
Note: Honestly, the saving grace is the art and that's what allowed for a 6.5 which in turn rounded up the final score. Otherwise this manga is mid tier 6.

This is trash. One of the worsted endings I've read in awhile. It literally makes no fucking sense. I wanted to read some light hearted romance manga and I didn't want to waste my time reading reviews since it's so short. O regret that decision.
5/10 Story is ok nothing special but I knew that going in. You can't really expect phenomenal writing from some shitty 15 chapter romance manga that looks old as hell.
4/10 Art is shitty but it's from 2013 so I can't hate. Art style makes sense in the time that it was made.
6/10 There are only 2 (main) characters and you
...
follow them in the story. They're ok
5/10 Enjoyment was completely ruined when the final chapter was read. It went from a solid 4-5/10 to a trashy 2/10
SPOILERS
3/10 overall it makes no sense as to why the side character was chosen as the winner. Like deadass the two main characters developed feelings for each other over the course of 14 chapters and then for no reason at all he chooses the girl who rejected him on chapter 14 and she accepts. If you like being cucked great read I guess.

I just want to preface something before the review starts. Everything I'm about to say pretty much aligns with the other two reviews on this page. It probably wont be anything new but I thought I'd share my thoughts anyways. If you found this review helpful please like their review and not mine.
Story (6): Just like RefinedTyro and Nervin said this is a Shounen manga. You essentially get a monthly villain who does something to a friend of Misaki. Misaki comes in to save the day, the end. Each new villain is slightly stronger than before but worry not the power of friendship will persevere.
...
Its very formulaic and at some point becomes very predictable. This does not mean the manga is bad in any way because it does what it does well. It gives the typical shounen manga a little twist by adding delinquents. Its a nice twist and the character development helps with making it very enjoyable. Unfortunately the ending felt a bit abrupt with 2-3 questions left unanswered. No spoils: There's a 10 chapter fight arc right before the ending and right when the fight is over it cuts into the future and we get 3 chapters concluding the manga. Also quick note: The manga isn't always serious and when it isn't serious its pretty funny. It does a great job in switching tones.
Art (7): The art starts off like any old school manga (wacky as fuck) but give it some time and it evolves into a pseudo-realistic art style (RefinedTyro). I personally loved it and it gave the manga a bit of style. Only problem is that all the chicks look the same and technically all the dudes look the same to (RefinedTyro) but they're given differentiation via clothing and hairstyles. You could probably make them all bald and they would all look the same just like how you can make all the male characters in DBZ bald and they all look the same. Unfortunately, the female characters get no love they all look the same dress the same and got the same hairstyles (Nervin). I didn't really mind because none of the female characters were apart of the main cast and as a result them having less detail put into them didn't push me away from the series. Overall the art style is nice and the semi realistic art helps give off a delinquent manga style. When shits about to go down it does a good job in expressing it with sharp lines and great composition and when its getting light hearted its able to strip all detail away and make it look very goofy.
Characters (7): Everything RefinedTyro and Nervin say is correct. Misaki is a lovable loud mouth and of all the manga I've read he's probably the most endearing. He's just a really good guy and always sticks up for his friends. The main 4 characters get a good amount of development but obviously our boy Misaki gets the most. None of the side characters get as much development but their fleshed out enough to the point were you don't really complain to much. The interactions between the cast is natural and done pretty well. It never goes against how the character was developed.
Enjoyment (9): This manga is a very entertaining read. Never once did I feel like it was getting boring or stale even though the story writing formula was very predictable. The fights were great even if there wasn't much choreography and it just resulted in a slugfest and attrition with a spice of friendship. The comedy was nice and the development of the main cast made me feel attached to the characters. Even the small bits of development for the side characters got me attached to them. Great manga that makes you feel pretty hyped when Misaki beats dudes up

My Synopsis: Set in a futuristic Japan (you won’t really see too much stuff outside earth) where Earth’s borders are open for space travel . Aliens are common place and come to Earth to visit/work (you’ll get some world building as you read through.) Our main character is Kumika a chick who doesn’t need to eat because her species can absorb the nutrients needed through the air. (again enough exposition is done to know how this is done)
It’s a good manga with some really cute moments. It makes you feel nice and fluffy when you read it.
Story 7: Again fluffy manga so the story isn't
...
crazy or anything but it has romance which has good progression. The manga is very episodic each chapter has its own self-contained plot and every now and then the plot will stretch across 2-3 chapters.
Art 8: The art really fits with the manga it’s nothing unique but it’s done really well. Key moments of the manga are especially well drawn. Great art with some unique alien designs and the few planets that we see are also pretty unique.
Character 6: Kumika herself has good character development but aside from her everybody else stays the same. Watching the character grow through the 30+ chapters is nice. Nothing is rushed it’s a smooth ride when you read it.
Enjoyment 8: If you’re in the mood for some feel good fluffiness then pls read it. It’s a nice read whenever your feeling like you want to read something nice and cute. Plus the art is good. Not only that but it has some funny moments to so what more do you need am i right.

This is a solid movie.
Its story is pretty basic but enjoyable. A kid is in danger and bumps into a lone samurai. This samurai ends up killing dudes to help the kid. Now the Samurai and the kid are on a small journey that lasts about an 1.5hrs and bam movie is done.
I like this movie because almost anyone can pick this movie up and end up liking something about it. I'm saying almost just in case there's some person out there who only watches romance anime without any action whatso ever and sees this movie and is like "Actually I didn't like this movie".
The
...
art is great and its fluid as fuck. The fight scenes are awesome.
Shit analogy:
This movies animation is like when you poop and its super smooth and it just slips out of your butt. No mess super clean super smooth. The animation is like that clean and smooth.
