Both series are all about making friends and forging great bonds. Kiznaiver approaches this theme by having its characters connect to feel what other's are feeling so they can understand them more. On the other hand, Angel Beats has its characters understand each other to help each other achieve their dreams. By connecting with the others, they became closer to each other and understand not just others but also themselves. Both shows also feature a kuudere, a silent and reserved girl who was seen by the other characters as someone not belonging to them, an outsider if you will. The MC is different though. He sympathize for her and share a relationship with her and with his help, that once distant girl opens up with them and becomes their friend.

Both started with the male lead in a state where they find living as pointless because of an event that occured in their past. Then by some twist of fate, they have a chance encounter with a beautiful girl, and slowly find purpose and reason to keep on living. Both are stories about what people usually do when they have a limited time left in this world. Both stories teaches us to treasure our lives and keep on pursuing our dreams until the very end, leaving no regret. If you haven't read any of these manga, then I highly recommend that you read them. It's nice to experience sadness and cry once in a while.

Both anime started with a huge cast of characters fighting for something as a group. Basically, the characters are part of some kind of military group (I know that Angel Beats is not military but they have guns and sharp weapons so I guess that counts). As the show goes on, characters slowly "disappear" from the show and they are even removed from the opening/ending credits. If you want shows that has the entire cast in the credits and slowly remove those who are no longer in the show, then these two are for you. :)
