I'd recommend this for my kids to watch.
It's got a good moral foundation and brings light to how passions like art shouldn't just been given up on so easily if there's determination to back it.
Personally, I thought this was a pretty refreshing anime to watch.
I watch a lot of shonen and psychological thrillers, so this is not my usual type to watch.
But I became really interested in the theme of a noble woman leaving her family to work for a life she can live on her own.

The 10/10 ratings I give this anime still isn't enough to detail the overall amazingness of this masterpiece.
I'm not the biggest fan of slice of life anime. But this is a whole lot more than that. It's psychologically thought provoking. The way they were able to delve into such complex characters and their backstories in such an emotionally pulling way is amazing. And the music is AMAZING as well! PS. I am only talking about the English dub. And the company that dubbed this and published it in America found excellent voice actors. When the songs were played, the songs were in original Japanese lyrics ...

This was one of my favorite manga ever to read.
But, I don't feel like the anime does any justice to how emotionally provoking the manga. I felt like the creators fell short in edging the internal dialogues that all the characters had. It felt like they made them more simple, compared the to the intense complexity these amazing creatures really were. Seeing the battles and watching the manga come to life was really awesome, but truth be told, I would re-read the manga a hundred times before I re-watched this anime. PS. I'm referring to the English dub, as I spend too much time ... |
