One piece had pretty solid art in the start but gets worse much later on and the story seemed to be interesting with typical shonen tropes at first that worked, however after reading over 1000+ chapters I have to say there is a lot of plot holes in this show and big problems with its world building. People have told me this is a deep matured story with clever storytelling and I have to say they are very wrong, this is a children show given how carefree the author is about not taking his writing serious.

1. Nika/joyboy being a retcon coming out of nowhere ... almost right before defeating Kaido, its well established Luffy was a paramecia from the start and not a mythical zoan and the fact Shanks and the government knew this makes very little sense given how carefree they were at the time (it would have implied the stakes should have been higher), etc. Even the forshadowing are not connected to Nika/joyboy itself, but instead its gods that already exist in the setting like Kashigami.

2. why are there submarines and airplanes in an setting where they rely on ships to move around? Don't bring the unpredictable weather as an excuse, etc. The manga has contradicted itself when there are people with advanced tech over the whole world (law using polar tang, Enel's maxim, weatheria balloon ships, etc), and yet they live like they are in the middle ages with swords and blunt weapon when there are futuristic stuff around. This means Oda can do asspull moments like how Luffy got saved by Law's crew during wano, etc.

3. Armament haki coating not shown through the whole Marineford war arc despite it was shown during sabaody archipelago arc when Rayleigh saved Camie. This means Oda had to retcon it later in order to make it possible to fight logia devil fruit users without going for their weakness which makes the show less clever when its all about haki that matters.

4. CP9 returning and oddely off powerscale where Rob lucci is stronger than the whole CP0 and could even fight luffy in Gear 5 which remind you crushed Kaido, so Rob lucci confirmed stronger than the "strongest creature among all living things" in One piece?

5. How Sabo was not planned from the start hence why it didn't fit in to the story and him not knowing Ace was around despite Ace had a bounty of 550,000,000 berry and was part of the Whitebeard's crew! Not until the execution was announced Sabo noticed and even then there is a reason (excuse) he couldn't save him.

There are a lot more I could add, but this is some of it.
