I write this review years after I finished the manga. So don't really count my review as accurate or in-depth. This is just a very quick review.

When I found this in my local bookstore, I decide to buy it due to the synopsis. A story about executioner(s) hunting down mafia seems interesting. Usually, manga about mafia focus on the mafia side. But here, we are focusing on the other side, which is "law enforcement/executioner" side. In here, they will try to take down the dirty mafia from continue corrupting their cities/town.

After I finished the whole series, I was thinking, "Why the hell don't they make ... this an anime adaptation?" It's still valid in my mind even to this day. The story is so great, the characters are great, and the action is amazing. I was quite surprised there is no Anime for it considering how great this is.

If you find this manga, please read it. It won't disappoint you.

This manga simply, very unique.

A story about a Girl who raised by death, and then her caretaker disappear. in search of finding her caretaker again ('the death'), she needs to find clues about him. the Girl is not normal. she is a reaper in a cute girl form. her techniques and power are out of this world. and this caught my eye from the first 3 chapter.

She's very overpowered. like, really overpowered. there is no magic or mystical things in this world. it's basically like any other medieval era with swords, bow, etc. Olivia is her name, and her goal is to find Zed, the ... name of her caretaker, aka "The Death". this story focus not only on her journey to find Zed, but the surrounding faction too.

The plot is heavy, but yet, still have some light moments everyday thanks to Olivia. the manga has gore, so bear in mind of seeing some nasty stuff. and with the introduction finish, I will give you my personal review.

Story: 9/10
It's unique. normally, a manga with OP MC inside a dark plot will be heavy, serious, and sometimes overwhelming. but this manga is not. the author of LN really made it well for casual readers who want to see a heavy plot, but with some breaks.

And let me clear this up, the comedy did not break the immersion. so you can still feel the heavy tension even with some joke dialogue appearing.

Art: 9/10
Amazing art. Support Characters did not feel left out, most of them can be distinguished by their facial appearance rather than anime hair.

And the manga adaptation really helped me to imagine the scene from the LN more clearer. as a person who got introduce from the Manga first before the LN, It's hard for me to get the scene in my mind when reading the LN

Character: 9/10
Olivia is the best girl. She's OP, Smart, and very cute like a cinnamon roll. when you see her slashing people, it feels so freaking good in a way. not only that, Olivia develop some "common sense" too later on, even though it's only a small improvement since she's raised by Death for 12+ years...

Now I will tell the main selling point for me with this manga: The support characters are well fleshed.

As you read the story, you begin to hope that none of the support characters (who is not the antagonist) will die at the story. and if they do, you will have some slight hope that Olivia give some nice revenge to avenge them. or heck, just show her anger emotion to unleash all hell for those who killed her friends.

There is one character that I hope become the "Love interest" later down the road. but for now, I don't want the story to progress that way. let's just focus on seeing Olivia slashing enemies! Yeah!

Enjoyment: 9/10
A Manga about Cute Girl who did not have fear nor common sense and Super Dangerous? Let's go!

But in serious talk, This manga somehow very satisfying to read. seeing the antagonist got obliterated by Olivia is a beautiful sight. and seeing her enjoying herself surrounding by her allies is filled me with joy. (I really hope most of them are still alive by the end of the story)

Overall: 9/10
Just simply Amazing, Unique, Satisfying, and Cute. the Heavy plot makes it much better because it makes Olivia shines even more.

Synopsis: A story about retired adventurer adopting a baby he found from the forest, and after a few years, the girl move into far city to be an adventurer. from there, the once adorable helpless baby grew up to be a fine woman with undeniably monster strength.

The daughter raise into S-rank in the adventurer guild after being separated from her father for 5 years. now her goal is to go back to her hometown and be reunited with her father. [End of synopsis]

Well, this story pretty much talk about a daughter and father relationship. compare to other father-daughter stories out there, this one is truly ... wholesome and has no "romantic feelings" at all. the daughter is just a normal girl who missed her father.

Many of her friends in the story said she is a father-con, which isn't too far off, but the daughter action clear up all readers prediction from going into 'incest route' by claiming "If there's a woman out there want to marry my father, they need to fulfill all of my requirements before I grant their blessing" from there on, it's clear that she doesn't see her father anything more than parental love.

Story: 8/10
Finally, I find a wholesome manga about father-daughter relationship without any romantic feelings at all between them. and the daughter is not jealous when a woman close to her father, she's more like angry since most of them did not fill the requirements.

Art: 7/10
Good artstyle. not too detailed but not too simple either. the characters have their own characteristics to easily be distinguished. the author did a great job drawing a background wide shot when it needed.

Character: 8/10
So far, the characters in the story are well made. some of them have big development too later in the story and not just 'Good and Evil' trope, just what I wanted!

Enjoyment: 7/10
It's nice to read when you wanted a light-hearted but still have some big mystery around them to make it interesting. yes, you read it right. there's still a lot of mystery in this story since it's not only focusing on two of them (father and daughter), but their surroundings too.

Overall: 8/10
-Father-Daughter relationship without romantic feelings? check.
-Wholesome? Check.
-Each Arc made some impact on their surrounding/the story keep developing? Check.

Overall, RECOMMENDED!

DISCLAIMER: I'm not really good at reviewing in depth. but this is just a simple review for y'all that stumble this manga by accident (like me for example)

Story - 7/10:

The story is pretty good at the beginning. in fact, this is so far the most satisfying character development i have ever seen in Isekai manga. the MC is not overpowered. hell she neither do any combat. which is bloody rare for Isekai genre. and the MC just try to live a peaceful life. little action, more drama and character development.

Art - 7/10:

Usual Isekai artstyle to be honest. but the artist did a good job to ... show emotions in some chapters.

Character - 7.5/10:

I am interested toward the MC more than any characters in the story. she got a huge development which i love. the MC will got 8 rating score from me. but for overall characters cast in the manga? 7 rating.

Enjoyment - 8/10:

Pretty good story. rare action until the late chapters. the drama buildup is good which what i wanted from Isekai manga.

Overall - 7/10:

Good Story Building, The MC HAVING a PEACEFUL life compare to other Isekai, The MC actually intelligent and not focus on love story of her life sometimes. The Characters is decent except the MC. The manga has Above Average Artstyle, and last but not least, It's not using much cliches. like really. i just realised the cliches scene or trope is only used very few times.

Recommended if you like Isekai but not having overpowered character and want slice of life and romance focused instead of Action and Adventure.

I'm going to straight to the point.

Story: 7/10 -
It's a kid who ruled a country because his father died unexpectedly. so you know, the story is following her ruling a SOCIALIST country. and lot of mess has been made but it's understable because "SHE. IS. A. KID" literally. that's what 9 years old do when they have control of a country.

I'm happy to see what kind of a scenario if a kid control an "authoritarian" nation.

and oh yeah, it's lighthearted.

Art: 8/10 -
... Pretty simple and refreshing quality to the eyes. very good.

Character: 8/10 -
I love her personality and people around her. there's one guy who I like with a very chill personality and just obey her order.

Enjoyment: 9/10 -
Totally Recommended. this is the manga you wanted to see after you saw some dark stuff. pretty funny and enjoyable for everyone.

Overall: 8.5/10 -
Like i stated above. enjoyable for everyone in any kind of ages. funny and lighthearted.

I'm just gonna straight into reviewing this after reading 5 chapters for the simple introduction if you found the manga by any chance.

This Manga is a fresh breathable air that I've been waiting for so damn long in Isekai plot. the last time I ever have this kind of feeling is when "Konosuba" and "The Black Healer" (Isekai de "Kuro no Iyashi Te" tte Yobarete Imasu) was out.

This one so far, took a route where the character is NOT "Reincarnated" or "Summoned" into another world like usual Isekai out there.

This one, is where the MC still alive and well. he goes to another world by ... sleeping, or you can say, "Dreaming". and he didn't want to live in that world either and still work like usual adults.

And well, you see by the name of the comic, The Elf got transported into HIS world aka Our Universe

and let just say, this kind of plot have some ORIGINAL potential to be a light of Isekai genre. let's do a quick review!

Story: 8/10

because it was original. I love every single original plot that blend so well. and this manga didn't copy the usual isekai manga as you can see.

Art: 10/10

The Author suuurrrreeeely have been making some other works before this. like seriously, the art is very beautiful. it can go from chibi into maturely detailed character that is so beautifully drawn like a popular slice of life manga.

Character: 7/10

Pretty good character. the MC is not dense and neither weak or strong. meanwhile the girl (the Elf) have some reasonable personality and not overaggressive like usual lead girl character.

Enjoyment: 9/10

It's very nice. it is light-hearted (so far after reading 5 chapters). probably recommended when you want to relax.

Original, Did not have typical Dense or Overpowered MC, Very good art style, and enjoyable story plot.

An Anime/Manhwa about "Actual" Sibling relationship without any "Romantic Feelings" between them. Very surprising right in this world of animes? and not only that, You actually can relate if you have a sibling and a similar type of friends in this story.

It's pretty amusing about their relationship, especially both of them grown up and not very distance age. the brother quite troublesome while the sister try her best to eat ton of bs action from her brother decision. they fight here and there just like any siblings, but they will end up like it's nothing in the next day! (even though a new problem will ... arise each day)

Enough said, go check it out and stop reading reviews!

I've watch this anime for 3 times now. it's just so relaxing after you watch ton of crazy stuff or experience stress in real life. my favourite Slice of Life anime of all time for sure.

The story is 9.5/10:

The story is so happy and you can take a relax and enjoy it. don't expect any action happened. i literally calmed after getting angry when losing in a game after i watch this anime. not to mention that story is all about Happiness and Relaxation!

The Art is 8.5/10

Not too beautiful but still good. pretty surprising with the opening art style. but nice to feels something new. ... the character design are very good. the scenery is like, "holy crap i want to live there". it make me think to moved out from the city and live to a countryside. just calm nature without noise pollution. really good overall.

Sound is 10/10

Pretty amazing OST. very relaxing soundtrack that i can just hear it over and over without getting bored. the opening is very refreshing. i recommend to download the Soundtrack (all of it) so you can stabilize your mood if you ever get stressed or angry or sad. or all of them.

Character is 10/10:

The characters personalities are realistic and not overly dramatic. I like every single anime that is having realistic personalities. all of the reaction are pretty realistic that i somehow connected and relatable to their emotions and reactions if i ever encounter the scenario. Makoto is the best girl out of all Slice-of-life anime i ever watch.

And, all of the clothes she used (well, all of the characters) is respectable and not sexy neither too shorts. i really love her school uniform with that big legging socks(?). i can't ever hardly think even just a little about sexiness in these anime because how well their clothes are.

can we just, copy these style of fashion into every anime please? so i can watch it without awkward panty shot or awkward camera boobs/butt shots? because i watch for the plots. and those shots are unnecessary.

Enjoyment is 11/10:

Like come on. when i found out about this anime from a clip in youtube, i was a bit confuse at same time have a string that pulling me to "watch this!" anime. so i decide to take a shot and my god, it is very enjoyable. you can watch it with whole family without having any awkward conversation or awkward scenarios. and plus, no such a thing called emotional ride in this anime. it is literally flat out relaxing and happy anime.

Note to all new watchers: forget everything you think about and just enjoy the episodes. Make a comfortable position when you watch it to have full experience. i recommend to watch it in the day right near a window when there's not much noise.

Overall ratings from me, 10/10. i just hope the second season showed up already so i can take a chill from the stress i got.

I never join the hype train or know about this upcoming anime last december. but myanimelist give me a recommendation what anime to watch so i decide to take a look at Violet Evergarden.

And damn it was a good choice. the first 3 episode was slowly build-up story. i didn't like slow build-up but somehow i managed to watching through. i think what make me stay in Violet Evergarden is because my gut telling me 'there is more than this.'

i stay in the train and then my wait finally over after they give me episode 4 and 5. the people that left would probably missed ... out most of emotional ride.

so far every single episode of Violet Evergarden is full of emotional ride. each episode have a different character "customer". the story is a big emotional ride. you may cry if you have weak-heart, but since i don't have fragile heart i managed through all episode without a single shed.

don't think that i'm cold hearted, i did feel the emotions each episode. but it won't give me enough long ride to make me start feeling want to cry. Episode 10 is far by most the most emotional ride i ever had in this anime.

I feel the anime is rushed and missing 40% of the story in the manga.

1. they missed the interaction between Hishiro and a group of boys when the school festival came in.

2. not only that, they missed a Oga and Kariu development about his brother problems. it's the literal drama in this whole story.

3. They miss a lot of development chance for the characters. their background, and their own story.

I feel a bit sad because they didn't input the Oga brother Arc. it is literally the best development story for a support character. overall it's 8 because of their awesome ending execution.
