Short anime series- it is four episodes you have really no idea as to the back story to Count D and his pet shop. Basically people buy rare items out of this shop in China town and even though they are given a strict set of rules to follow, the buyers alway break them. It is yet another insightful look into how humans are insatiable in nature and let our emotions overrule our common sense. Instead of Pet Shop of Horrors it should be Pet Shop for Idiots. Count D tells the buyers not to do "a" and soon they do "a" and something ... happens. The fun part of the anime is to watch how they screw things up. I wish there were more episodes because it is half way decent.

I cannot say more about Eureka Seven- the story line is great and has excellent clift hangers- which is why I recommend watching it on the coputer or buying the DVD rathter than on TV. The music- especially Nirgilis Sakura makes you want to get and dance- or maybe that is just me. Either way- it is the best anime and highly recommended to watch.

Elfen Lied begins with blood, violence and killing which is, in my opinion, the best way to capture people's attention. It is the tale of Lucy, an evolved human called a Diclonius, characterized with horns resembling a cat's ears. With their telekinetic arms- dubbed vectorss, the diclonius can do anything within their reach withoutl lifting finger- even kill. This is why the diclonius are viewed as a danger- they are relentless killing machines , thought to bring the destruction of humanity and for this they are killed.

Unless they are captured.

As with any secret government lab, the lab in Elfen Lied keeps ... a select few of diclonius females to study and find a cure for this virus. Among those captured is Lucy, a powerful diclonius. Lucy manages to escape capture, killing countless soliders with her vectors, all while in the nude. The only injury Lucy suffers is a shot to the head and falls a clift into the ocean. The head injury causes a mental split in Lucy's personality: there is the murderous killing machine Lucy, and the naiive child like Lucy named Nyu by two teens who spotted her on the beach.

OKay got that?! This is just a mere summary of the 14 episodes of Elfen Lied. For me to go into greater detail would completely reveal this tale, and you must watch this anime to find out.

You cant help but fall in love with Nyu, her child like eyes and actions are too cute, and you forget she is Lucy, a murderous killing machine. But towards the end of the anime, you learn about Lucy's past and learn the Diclonius are not murderers because it is in their nature, rather they turn because of humanity's inhumane actions towards them. A diclonius are human in their emotions, but what makes them different is- when they get pissed- they kill and continue to kill to protect themselves. IT is the basic nature vs. nurture arguement here, which in my opinion nuture wins hands down. Lucy grew up in a welfare care facility and was constantly treated as an outsider because of her horns, and when the one thing she cared about was taken away before her very eyes, she killed those responsible. Feeling the world would never accept her, Lucy killed and killed again until she was finally stopped.

To tell an entire story in 13 ( well 14 actually) episodes is very difficult, but Elfen Lied manages to do the job effortlessly, and manages to leave the audience with a question at the end-- who is at the door? Everyone in this anime had a problem, and at the end, the problems were pretty much resovled. Overall, I would say this anime is by far worth the time and effort to watch and I would really recommend watching it.
