Having finished all 12 episodes of Shimoneta, I have to say, this is one of the most pure comedy show I have seen in a long time. On the surface, Shimoneta is a show about rebelling against a system that banned all dirty jokes. Under the surface, Shimoneta is a show about rebelling a system that banned all dirty jokes. In other words it stays true to itself throughout the series, which is rare nowaday since most shows try to teach some nonsensical life lesson.
Story: First of, this is one of the most ridiculous premise I've ever seen for an ero-comedy.
...
Does that make it less enjoyable? Heck no!. The story is flexible in a sense that it allows for various type of experimentation, in other words, you can have fun with it. To describe the plot with minimal spoilers, it's a story about a boy learning to discover his inner erotic-self by teaming up with an erotic terrorist who is also the vice-president on the student council whose goal is to ban all erotic activities. This is a story about their plans to free society from the grip of the extremes of morality laws that have become too misinformed about humanity's erotic nature.
Art: The art for Shimoneta is pretty standard, it's nothing too innovative or too surprising. However, with that said, it is fundamentally sound and the character designs are unique, and erotic (if you can see it).
Sound: S-O-X. Enough said. That is one awesome OP and ED.
Character: The characters are the best part of this show for me. Most of the main characters that are introduced grow and change in their own way throughout the show. In fact, some characters change so drastically that it adds to the comedic elements of the show. If there is one thing that makes this show stands out from the rest, it is the characters. This show is 90% character driven.
Enjoyment: If you are a fan of ero-comedy / do not take a show too seriously, Shimoneta is for you. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Don't think too much on it and just have a good laugh. If you're looking for a deep plot, well you should probably keep looking but then go back and enjoy this show nonetheless.

Since there weren't many reviews for this series, I thought I'd write one.
WELCOME TO SEIKA ALL GIRLS ACADEMY!!!
Honestly, if you enjoy Haganai, chances are you'll probably enjoy this series quite a bit. It's Haganai but more comedic.
First of, the plot. The main protagonist of this story, Kagurazaka Kimito, was kidnapped and brought to Seika Girl Academy to act as a "Commoner Sample". Since Seika is a school designed for girls from wealthy family, most of the ladies there are largely sheltered with little no knowledge of the outside world. As a consequence, when many of these ladies graduate, they become shut-in
...
(NEET w/ money to build super gaming computers) due to the disconnect between the environment at Seika and the outside world. To resolve this problem, Seika Academy kidnapped Kimito, a "commoner" to help Seika's ladies to slowly adjust to the outside world. So why did a guy get kidnapped to be a commoner for an all-girl rich school you ask? Well, apparently, Kimito is a raging homosexual with a large fetish for muscles which make him the perfect candidate since he's still a male and a commoner.
Kimito is fitting as a male-harem lead. Unlike the generic male lead, he's quick-witted and quite arguably, the ultimate troll. He knows how to have fun being the only gay, muscle-loving male, in an all girls school. Other than Kimito, other characters are also highly memorable in their own quirky way though they do follow the general anime archetype. Perhaps its this self-awareness of the archetype that makes the character so memorable.
The art is beautiful, there's really no denying that. The artist gets better with every chapter and the varied expressions of the character is something that makes this manga so visually appealing.
Honestly, if you enjoy a good comedy, go read this. Don't take the plot too seriously and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

In the interest of full disclosure, I have a very strong sense of nostalgia with this manga as I write this review. With that said, I will try to be as objective as possible and provide as few spoilers as possible while providing an overall sense of what this story is about.
First off, a brief synopsis of the story. It's fairly straightforward. The protagonist of the story, Junpei Manaka, has a dream of one day becoming a film director. One day, while resting on the roof of his high school, he happens to see the strawberry underwear of a mysterious and beautiful
...
girl. Amid the backdrop of the setting sun, he falls in love with her. Fortunately for our hero, he discovers her notebook and finds that her name was Aya Toujo. Yet, to his surprise, the Aya Toujo in his school was a plain girl who did not stand out from the crowd, a stark contrast with the beauty he saw on the roof. Thinking that it was probably a misunderstanding, Junpei begins to think that the girl he saw on the roof was not "Aya Toujo" but instead Nishino Tsukasa, currently the most popular girl in his school. Working up his courage he begins to consider asking Nishino to be his girlfriend. At the same time, as he spends time with Aya, he discovers that he and Aya shares many similar interests, especially in film. Stuck between Aya, the plain girl who shares his interests and Nishino, the most popular girl in school, Junpei has to decides who he wants to pursue.
The story starts out pretty silly as you can obviously tell from my synopsis but there's a depth here beyond the silly introduction. This story evolves from Junpei trying to find a girl with underwear to one that explores the changing relationships between the different characters. There are many artfully done twists and turns to this manga that keeps the reader interested and prevent the manga from being boring. The pacing is largely on point, albeit slightly rushed at time. It's a slice-of-life that, in a way, timeless.
When you read this manga, there's one thing that really stands out from the rest, the characters. You can tell that the mangaka puts a lot of love into her character, and this is not an exaggeration. Even minor characters are developed into memorable and lovable character without taking away from the main characters. The main characters, what can I really say...There's a skill to character development, one that this author fully understands. There's a few manga that I've read where I'm constantly torn between all characters in the story. Usually, I pick one character and root for that character. In this manga, I'm constantly torn between who to root for as the story develop. Each character is unique in their own way and rarely follow the typical story archetype.
I'm not going to say anything about the art...You can look at my score and decide that for yourself.
Overall, I highly enjoy this story. Despite writing this review with a strong sense of nostalgia, I can honestly say that the moment I picked up this story for the first time a long time ago, I developed an addiction to strawberries every since. Therefore, be careful about reading this if you have an allergy to strawberries.
