This is gonna be a short review since reviewing is not exactly my strong point, but I love this anime, so I'll at least try!
This is a show with a practically non-existent story, instead it's basically pure comedy, and that was originally the reason why I stopped watching it after watching it for 5 minutes a year ago lmao, but I gave it another chance recently since when I first watched it I just wasn't in the mood for this type of anime, and God!, I love this shit. It's a brilliant mix of amazing comedy and relatability.
IMO, the comedy is best in the first
...
two episodes, those being the ones where I laughed a ton, but after that it calms down a bit, at least in my opinion; the comedy doesn't exactly get bad per se, but instead it's just not AS funny. I laughed a lot throughout the entirety of the show, the first two episodes were merely the ones where I laughed the most per individual episode. If this is sounding like a turn-off (for some reason) for you then don't let it be, humour is entirely subjective, so you may think the same as me when watching it, or maybe you'll love it even more, heck you might even hate it, my point is give it a go at least. As I said, I originally dropped it after 5 minutes and wasn't even willing to give it a chance, not because it was bad but because I just wasn't in the mood, so I gave it another chance when I was in the mood and I am so glad I did, because I love this anime to bits.
Now in terms of relatability, it's also subjective. I've seen reviews saying how it's not relatable in the slightest, and I've seen ones where they say it's extremely relatable. For me, It's very relatable. Sure, it's exaggerated and over the top for comedic purposes so it's not like it's a hundred percent on the relatability scale in comparison to what my high school life was like, but it felt really similar, especially with certain parts. Hell, I could write so much on how it felt so similar to my life in high school, but this ain't my biography, it's a review lmao.
Overall, I gave it a 9/10, you may disagree or agree, but give it a go I beg of you!

I feel like this is a great season, it has kind of stopped progressing, that is true, but I feel like that's fine. this season feels like the characters just living life since the main story ended in season 1, nothing wrong with that, in fact it feels refreshing.
I will say though, the new girl with pink hair (forgot her name already) got really annoying. She doesn't have much impact on anything at all and just seems like she's just there...for like no reason. she's also just annoying, ill be enjoying a nice scene, and then I hear her annoying ahh laugh, and it just
...
ruins the mood, it's like she's there just to overcomplicate things for little to no reason. Her backstory with Yuuta was good, and I actually liked that part, however I feel like the writers were just trying to push her into every scenario and give her more importance than she actually needs, and so it ends with you knowing she was 'important' in season 2, but you're left confused as to why, at least that was the case for me.
Another thing that annoyed me was how Isshiki felt completely forgotten about since he only appears a handful of times, I don't know why. He was there since the beginning, he was Yuuta's first friend, and yet he's treated like nothing now.
Other than all that I really liked the season, it felt refreshing and nice to just watch these characters live their lives, especially Rikka and Yuuta. Basically it felt like season 1 was the main story and season 2 is like the after story which just shows their lives after the story is over.
Overall I recommend it if you enjoyed season 1 and want to see more of the characters, but if you weren't too interested in season 1 then don't expect this to be a 'successor' that improves everything or something. Whether you enjoy this season or not is purely based on how you liked season 1, some will love it, some will not.

The first season was drastically different to this season, that's not a bad thing though. Many watchers saw that this season was a huge change of pace and different and didn't like it, and that's fine, its not for everybody.
This season as i stated before is a huge change of pace; its not action packed for the most part and it's set in mostly just one place, because of this it is often seen as lazy and generic. As a light novel reader i can say that it has a lot more to it than many realise. The whole point of this season is having
...
Rudeus and other characters settle down, and don't forget that the whole university thing was the whole point of Rudeus ever meeting Eris. I can tell you now that very soon the plot changes up and it gets hype. The world isn't necessarily meant to be a huge action packed setting, it's meant to be a mix of action and immersion, also a lot of what happens in this season despite seeming pointless and meaningless actually serves major roles later on.
As for the animation controversy, its really not that bad, in fact it isn't even too noticeable. I think because the past season spoiled us with such amazing animation, when this season showed to have great but not quite as good of animation many seem to think it's worse than it actually is.
Overall I HIGHLY recommend watching it if you were a fan of the first season, it is a much slower paced season but that helps add to the immersion and character development, and as i said before, it gets f#cking hype later on so just wait till April 2024 for the second cour and you'll realise how good it gets, and the plot later on does not go in a direction you'd expect and by that i mean their are a lot of plot twists that are very very well written, plus its only uphill from that point, but i won't spoil anything.
