So, we have the latest addition to the teenage girl army of "Cures" and soon we will be watching another movie mix-em all together just for the giggles.
For starters, i have to admit that i'm not a big fan of the series, but i don't hate it either, i think its ok in general, and i have enjoy what i have watched of it.
The story starts pretty much straight forward, and just like any other Precure story, we have the fairy magical kingdom endangered by the bad guy in turn and his pack of followers, who just wants to do evil things for the

sake of being evil, in this occasion by the means of stealing the Score of "happiness" or wherever and turn it into the Score of "sorrow" and making everybody in the world practically an emo, but thankfully the queen take the notes and spread them all over... you guess it, Japan, and sends the little annoying speaking cat to get some girls and turn them into Cures and save the world.
So far, just another standard season of Pretty Cure, but there's some thinks that just annoys the heck out of me and make it less enjoyable that it could be.
Art
I think its ok, and sightly better that the previous series, as always its colorful everywhere you look, even the villains that use dark colors, use dark colors pretty strong and appealing, and besides i think the CGI its used pretty well, specially in the ending.
Sound
Well being a series based around music i think they do a good job at it, it has catchy tunes and the OST just fits very well, its not something amazing but it pretty well done and fits the purpose of the series, and i don't find it annoying like other shows of the same tone.
Characters
So ok, here is where i'm gonna start to rant, despise that i actually like the two protagonist, Hibiki and Kanade, i just don't find them as interesting as it should be, yeah they have some development and the focus of the series revolves around her friendship to the point that when they are fighting or arguing between them they can't even transform into cures, and that's actually very good, the problem is that the "problems" that they have, felt forced and/or over the top.
I'm actually more interested in the relationship between Siren and Hummy, who are the "talking cats" in turn that can sing the magical song with the magical notes, well, actually i'm interested in the Siren part of the story just because i find Hummy disturbingly annoying, but its just that i cant stand his kind of "everything will be solve with love and kisses and the power of friendship". Don't get me wrong, i have not much problem with some characters like that, but Hummy just make it so over the top to ludicrous levels that just stop making any sense.
Getting back to Siren, she for some reason just appear as one of the bad guys, latter is suggested some kind of brain washing, but that just make her more interesting, because as the story progresses it became obvious that she's having serious conflict about what she's doing and start to develop a kind of love-hate relationship with the main protagonists, and i don't know, that just make her a more interesting character to me than the main protagonists, and for the same reason i like the other mysterious Cure that nobody seems to knows anything about her so far, as for the main villain i'll talk about him on the "story" part.
Story
Here is where i have serious problems with this show, and maybe i'm overreacting but just follow me on this one.
So the main plot line so far is that Mephisto, one of the most stereotypically villains in history, wants to make everybody in the world sad and make them cry by performing a song named "The Melody of Sorrow" with the notes that i mention at the beginning and witch, so far, only can be used by the talking magical cats...
Where... do i... begin...
So lets put aside the fact that the name of the main villain so far is "Mephisto" why does he want to make everybody sad and cry? why are he gaining from all of that? what make him want to do that in the first place?... there is not even a clue to start solving any of that questions, seriously i know i can't ask to much of this kind of show, but at least in previous seasons the villains wanted immortality or destroy everything, you know, standard stuff, but why make everybody just cry. I got to admit that its pretty diabolical that he wants to make everyone in the world an Emo, but it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
And by the way, this whole thing of the happy melody vs the sad melody just remembers me "Jem and the Holograms" is not that they are saying that the "emo music" is bad or evil (witch some of it actually is) but come on, music is one of the few things that could be a masterpiece without matter if it happy or sad, strong or calm, serious or silly. I mean, that doesn't have any sense, its like saying that i'm evil for making a drawing of a crying clown, its just doesn't work that way, people can feel sadness form a song, but at the same time that people could enjoy that same song equal or even more than a perfectly happy song.
Enjoyment
So here is when everybody would think that i don't enjoy this series at all, and you are wrong, its a pretty decent show, its very enjoyable despise the main threat doesn't make any f****g sense, but hey its not like someone would expect a masterpiece from a Pretty Cure series.
It's fun to watch, the battles are pretty cool, some characters are very well made for this kind of series, has some good music, has some decent mystery elements on it, and no, i don't mean the mystery of why the villain wants to make everybody an emo, and sorry i just can't get over that fact.
Overall, its not the worst things i ever seen but it could just be so much better with a megalomaniac or destructive villain, and if you are fan of the series or the magical girls kind of series, its not bad choice.

This is the very first review i made on this site, so please dont kill me.
When i just saw this anime, and base only in his title, i really dont expect anything beyond decent. Fortunally i was wrong, and maybe my rate on this anime is strongly based on that, dont get me wrong, it is good, but the low expectative that i have at first help to rate it high.
