Don't worry, no spoilers here.
I'm not sure when I started to enjoy watching, "The Great Pretender." But some way, some how, I felt myself falling in love with these characters. Wanting to know more, observe their heist against bad people, their backgrounds and what caused them to be where they are today.
You may look at this anime and think, "Only 23 episodes?" but I promise you, it's such a fun journey if you just relax and let this show take you on their crazy road trip.
I have only good things to say, any critique I have is all subjective and I would hate
...
to deter you from watching this awesome anime. I wish I didn't judge it so harshly on the first two episodes but what really made me stick around was the ending credits.
Which is weird, I know. But the animation and music was what really piqued my interest in this anime.
Great anime, would definitely recommend.

I went into this anime with zero expectations, I needed to kill time and this was on my recommended.
Komi Can't Communicate did more than kill time for me. Just from the first episode, I was hooked. This review will be biased and it can't be helped.
We'll start with our average boy Tadano with the cute flower on his head. Throughout the anime, he's Komi's translator, first friend, proud father, and motivator. He's the only one who truly understands Komi and cares for her deeply. The only downfall of the show to me is how the other students treat him. Tadano is a kind
...
young man but because of his close proximity with Komi, everyone treats him like garbage. (I'm looking at you Yamai)
Next is Komi, and she is the reason why I score this show so high. Our female lead has severe anxiety, but she's also the most popular girl in the school. Though popular, she's never spoken to anyone and they worship her like a God. Tadano and Komi communicate really well even if Komi rarely speaks or has anything to write on. She's a kind and considerate girl who's working hard to make 100 friends.
The small things Komi and Tadano go through remind me of my school days where I had difficulty talking to people and making friends. Though I am older now, I do still get anxious walking into cafes or a Subway. I gotta give them props for adding those little details. One of Komi's friends, Osana, gave Komi a very detailed order to help Komi communicate with others. Although Osana means well, those tasks were as if Osana was asking Komi to fight a bear.
Those scenes were funny not gonna lie.
So if you're wondering if you should watch this anime. I say be open and understanding. If you have anxiety or if you're shy, this anime might resonate with you. Even if you aren't those things, I hope you can watch this and learn how hard some people have it. It can be informative.

I want so badly to like this movie. The minute I saw the trailer I was so excited to see this. At the beginning of the movie, I was open to anything that was to come. Unfortunately, it fell short, the story began to crumble, the characters seized being interesting and my interest dwindled.
Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop should've had a better story. I wouldn't care if it became a cliche, or if it felt like another movie I've seen. The fact is, this movie had beautiful scenes and beautiful character designs.
And yet the story falls flat. It felt drawn out and
...
that made me sad.
You have our main character Cherry who's terrible at communicating, he always wears headphones and get's nervous quickly. He happens to be my favorite, but it doesn't count for much. I just so happen to relate to some of his insecurities and enjoyed his growth. He expresses himself with his haiku.
Smile and Cherry became close when their phones swapped. Cute meet-up. At least I think so.
Next, we have Smile, she wears a mask most of the time because she's self-conscious about her teeth and she's a famous vlogger/streamer.
In the beginning, I would consider her a second favorite, but because of the vinyl, she's a little lower.
I would talk about the other characters but I don't care about them. I know how mean that sounds but their personalities faded out when the show ended. Despite having unique styles.
My conclusion?
I think you should watch it. The movie wasn't my cup of tea, but it could be yours. I didn't hate the movie, but the story could have just fleshed out the two main characters. We didn't need all the extra stuff with the old man. Because I certainly did not care.

Don't worry I have no spoilers nor am I even going to give an informative review.
Basically, I cried a lot, then at the end I cried more tears, but they were happy tears.
I saw Shinji go from, "I wanna die," to "I wanna live." That's all I wanted, to see someone who went through so much trauma, come out on top and be able to smile.
Because it taught me that if Shinji can do it, then so can I. I saw Asuka tackle her demons and didn't let it bring her down, a round of applause. We met "Rei" who...lived a life learning things she's
...
never seen before. We saw Ms. Misato become almost unrecognizable but in the end, she was still a friend, no, family. I'm going to skip over a bunch of people and say that Gendo is still a piece of shit, but a piece of shit that I understand. I hated him for the longest time, but this movie managed to make me hate him just a tiny bit less.
That is all, 10/10 would recommend. Animation is pretty dope too, but the story is like 100/10.

How do I even start? I've watched a lot of anime over the years and yet Evangelion was unlike anything I've ever seen before. I'm not sure if my rating is biased or it was just so mind-blowingly good. In each episode I go through, each character I met felt like an extension of myself. I went in thinking this show was overhyped, I'm here to say this show deserves the hype it gets.
I know this isn't the most informative review but this wasn't just a show for me, it was like a mirror.
When I was about 11 to 14 years old, my feelings
...
were almost aligned with Shinji's. At the age of 15 to 16 years old, I understood Asuka's needs and struggles. When I turned 19 years old, Ms. Misato made it feel like we were struggling with adult life almost the same way. Obviously, I can't relate to them when it comes to fighting Angels. Everything to do with their personal lives was spot on.
All I have is good things to say about Eva. Some of the slow-paced scenes made me anxious. It was so well done.
For example, the scene with Asuka and Rei when they were riding the elevator down. With any other show, I would've skipped that entire scene. But for Eva, I could've felt the tension and if I fast-forwarded it, the moment would have lost all reason.
Give Eva a try, if the first episode doesn't pull you in, just keep watching. I didn't have issues with the first episode. It's the reason I kept watching but understand if it doesn't strike your fancy, Just be open to the experience. It might teach you a few things.

First off, I have no issue with the music, the animation, and the action scenes. Just want to put that out there.
The first half of the movie, in my opinion, was great. We understand why our main character, Suzu, is more or less depressed. She lost her **** at a young age and in a very traumatizing way too, we understand her trauma very early on.
Down the line, we get introduced to some minor characters whom I personally liked.
Then everything goes downhill when we meet the Dragon. I won't say who he is, but I truly thought he would be "you know who."
I
...
don't want to dislike this movie, but I can't deny that the story was doing too much.
Suzu went from being a troubled young woman to saving abused kids. But the more I thought about it, the more I figured it was a nice way to show that Suzu is just as kind as her mother.
Usually, I can sympathize with characters like Suzu but as the story progressed, I didn't care about anything she was doing.
The movie has a good way of revealing things and leaving me pleasantly surprised but not enough for me to call the plot of this movie great. There are so many things I dislike but I don't want to make it sound like I hate the movie. It wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst. I just wish they stuck to Suzu's development a little more and had the supporting characters make more of an impact. As the movie was nearing its end I lost interest, certain things weren't answered and I kept trying to give this movie the benefit of the doubt. Spoiler Alert, I couldn't find a good reason to enjoy the movie.
