Art - Character design is ok, but it gets QUALITY a lot. The action in Bleach is even more boring than Naruto. 1 out of 3.
Character - The characters are dumb. Everyone has to talk shit to each other before, during, and after beating each other up. Completely brainless egotistical behavior. I was actually surprised when Ichimaru Gin somehow managed to prevent Kenpachi from fighting Byakuya. But later on I was relieved when the captains finally begin fighting each other - it was only a matter of time. Luckily all they seem to be capable of doing was cutting each other on the shoulder.
...
Fucking stupid. Obviously Death Gods and Hollows have neither parents nor siblings so there's no need to talk about those. 0 out of 4.
Story - Nonsensical ghost story with DBZ-esque power-ups added in. Fights devolve into beamspamming. Nobody ever dies. Whole story summarized: Aizen trolls everyone. 0 out of 3.
Overall 1 out of 10 for having really really boring action coupled with brainless idiot characters and retarded nonsensical plot.

Style - wildly inconsistent. Some parts are very good, other parts not so. 2 out of 3.
Character - Naota is a kid who's obsessed with appearing mature. Haruka is a selfish alien who wants to gain Atomsk's powers. Naota's dad is a moron. The rest of the cast are all weirdos too. So none of the characters are either mature or likable. It seems they're more there to get a laugh than for the viewer to relate to them. 0 out of 4.
Story - Nothing in FLCL makes any sense. The whole thing is designed to be so random that you laugh at
...
it for being so random. Trying to understand flcl is a futile endeavor because there is nothing to understand. Everything is designed to be either cool or funny. There is no deeper meaning. Essentially, what happens is that an alien lands on Earth for her own selfish gains, and manipulates humans in order to do so. Eventually she fails and goes away. That's all. Don't start interpreting shit because once you start it will never end. It's style over substance, end of story. 0 out of 3.
Overall 2 out of 10 for being LOLSORANDUM shit.

Style - It's ok. Some parts (e.g Lee vs Gaara fight) are decent, other parts are not so great. 2 out of 3.
Character - The main flaw with Naruto characters is that they are clinically retarded. Ninjas are supposed to be stealthy, right? There wasn't a single stealthy ninja in the whole of naruto. Naruto wears a orange jumpsuit, Sakura wears red, Sasuke wears blue, the Akatsuki wear black cloaks with red clouds and everyone wears a shiny light-reflecting "forehead protector". Sure is stealthy. You see, normal people tend to avoid fighting for no good reason as it means getting hurt, noticed, and arrested.
...
Naruto characters on the other hand start fights for no reason at all other than to bolster their incredibly fragile egos. Naruto is an impulsive idiot. Sasuke is an arrogant asshole. Sakura is useless. In addition, all of the characters are immature, naive, and lazy. Oh yeah, did I mention the fact that Naruto charges headlong into every fight, breaking formation and getting his ass kicked, every single time? He must have brain damage from getting beaten up so often. 0 out of 4.
Story - The story of Naruto is complete nonsense. Throwing knives are crap as ranged weapons. It'd be easier to just sneak up on someone and stab them with it. Why does nobody use a bow and arrow in Naruto? They already have computer screens. The original Eastern concept of chakra was taken by Naruto and made into magic points that allow you to break the laws of physics. Naruto originally wanted to be a hokage. Now he's more interested in retrieving Sasuke. Okay let's go through the plot. First there was the Zabuza mission, where I thought they should have died. Zabuza alone could have taken all of them out but he wasted too much time chatting around. Then there's Haku, who was about to kill both Naruto and Sasuke when suddenly Naruto's 9-tailed fox guardian came out of nowhere and saved the day. This then happens every single time Naruto is in trouble - the 9 tailed fox saves the day. It gets repetitive and sends all the wrong messages to the kids (no hard work needed, just call the 9 tailed fox!!). Also, how Naruto defeated Kiba in the preliminary exam was just incredibly stupid, needless to say shitting your pants wouldn't save you from someone determined to beat the shit out of you in real life. Oh yeah and Naruto gives speeches that instantly turns villains into good guys. 0 out of 3.
Overall 2 out of 10 for retarded characters and nonsensical plot.

Style - the character design is good, the animation and action are amazing. 3 out of 3.
Character - There is obviously no character development because the short timespan of a movie does not allow for changes in character. But there is at the very least a semblance of a backstory and clear motivation behind the characters. Nanashi is a wandering ronin who regrets what he did in the past (killing people), and apparently likes kids. Rarou just wants to fight someone for a challenge. So at this most basic level, it works out. 2 out of 4.
Story - A bit weird. A group
...
of about 10 Ming dynasty warriors arrive in Japan looking for a kid that they have to sacrifice on top of a tower that they just built in order to...I don't even. Okay. So a bunch of assassins are looking for a kid that they have to capture. And Nanashi just happens to like this kid. Moral of the story is don't try to kill a kid who's protected by a badass. 1 out of 3.
Overall 6 out of 10 for having undeveloped characters and a weird story.

Style - Amazing as expected. 3 out of 3.
Character - There is no time for character development in this 4 episode OVA. The characters introduces are okay though. There's Hei and Yin again, who are the same as before. And then there a random Chinese guy who is ok. There is also a guy with the brain-control power, who has the insane goal of creating a world for contractors and is willing to commit mass murder to accomplish it. The guy's partner is sane however, so that balances things out a little. Overall the characters are somewhat likable. 2 out of 4.
Story -
...
The story makes just as much sense as DTBS2. Which means it didn't. The whole deal about evolving dolls and prophesy and all that. None of it makes any sense. Basically the whole of Gaiden revolves around Yin's newfound power to kill people, and the prophecy. Everyone is trying to capture Yin, either to prevent the prophecy from coming true or to hurry it up. In the end the brain-controller guy got hold of Yin and managed to make her unstable, with the result that she kills a load of contractors. Moral of the story? Contractors are evil. 0 out of 3.
Overall 5 out of 10 for having reasonable but undeveloped characters but a nonsensical story.

Style - I didn't like the character design at all. Too much moeblob for me. The animation was pretty good though, so 2 out of 3.
Character - The characters are childish. Kanata is your given naive pacifist moeblob. Actually all of the main characters in the story are pacifists. Why do I hate pacifists again? Oh yeah, appeasement led to Hitler taking over Europe and WW2. Despite all the time they spend together, very little information is revealed about the characters' pasts. We only find out right at the end that Noel was once a killing machine and one of the characters is a
...
princess or something like that. So not a whole lot of character development goes on, in comparison to world building. Also, everyone treats Kanata like a child, and there was sudden angst from the more mature characters nearer the end. Also, they committed treason by hiding an enemy soldier and not reporting it. So 0 out of 4.
Story - The world building in this anime is pretty good. However, the girls barely do any military training at all. You would expect them to have some practice down at the range once a week at least. Nope. They never have target practice or physical training. That's fine when you're just going around and playing music to cheer up the troops, but they're supposed to be guarding an outpost for god's sake. The only things they seem to do were search and rescue missions and planting crops. Then it suddenly got serious nearer the end with the threat of actual war but no worries! Kanata playing her trumpet stopped the enemy army of thousands of tanks right in their tracks (or legs)! Oh and, Rio suddenly appears at the exact moment that the armies were going to re-attack and announces a peace treaty. Frankly speaking, the anime was boring and random for pretty much all the episodes up till the last few episodes, where it suddenly got serious - seriously preachy, that is. 0 out of 3.
Overall 2 out of 10 for moeblobs, treasonous appeasement pacifists and initially random and boring then suddenly serious and preachy story.

Style - The animation is pretty good, although it did use 3D REALLY badly at some points and faces are often stiff and/or badly drawn. 2 out of 3.
Character - The characters seemed to serve little purpose other than to advance the plot by doing unexpected things. There are very few moments of character development (D'Eon writing a letter to his lover does not count as character development) where we learn about a character's past and his motivations. As a result, the actions of characters such as Durand and Teillagory are completely unintelligible to us, simply because nothing has been revealed about their past
...
or their motivations. 0 out of 4.
Story - Anything but historical. You might do well to know that not only did D'Eon not have a sister called Lia, but that Lia did not even exist, only tales which claim that D'Eon disguised himself as Lia to meet the Empress of Russia. But this is missing the point. The entire anime is based around the Psalms Of The King which has the magical power to choose who will be the king. Oh and, you have to kill the Empress of Russia and use her blood to read the book. Oh and only Lia can read the book because she was somehow supposed to be the king of France. Also, the book only allows certain chosen people to lift it. Also, Robespierre gets resurrected. A certain phrase comes to mind ("It's magic I don't have to explain shit"). Actually, I understand where this occult interpretation of the Bible comes from. When the Japanese first encountered Christianity, they thought it was a book of spells that allowed them to kill enemies and reanimate the dead. So much for that. 0 out of 3.
Overall 2 out of 10 for inconsistent art, incomprehensible characters and nonsensical story.

Style - It is fairly well animated, but the action is often seen from awkward angles which makes it confusing and frustrating. The character design is also not particularly aesthetically pleasing. 2 out of 3.
Character - The characters are terrible, and I have good reason to believe that the director never intended for the audience to like or relate to any of them. Ichise doesn't know any emotion other than rage, and ends up killing everyone and then dying a lonely death. Oonishi is an idiot who doesn't even understand the organization that he supposedly leads, and ends up getting betrayed. Ran practically never
...
says anything; the only thing we know about her is that she can see the future and she doesn't like it. Doc is another idiot who doesn't understand anything and ends up committing suicide. 0 out of 4 for utterly unlikable and completely forgettable characters.
Story - The story is utterly awful, in the worst sense of the word. Texhnolyze would have you believe that in the future, mankind gets divided into 2 parts - the normal and sane people live in the surface world, and the violent criminals live in the underground. The normal people end up dying out because....nobody has any children. NOBODY. The mind boggles at how completely stupid and idiotic this is. Also, suddenly SHAPES from nowhere, kill everyone, and then randomly grow roots and die. Completely nonsensical. 0 out of 3 for making absolutely zero sense.
Overall 2 out of 10 for having a mediocre style, terribad characters and a completely nonsensical plot.

Style - If there's one thing JJBA has in abundance, it's style. The art and animation in this OVA is absolutely wonderful. The character design is very stylish (I don't mind the fact that everyone looks like a bodybuilder), and the animation is fluid. The fight scenes are awesome. 3 out of 3.
Character - The characters have some recognizable personality but are not fully fleshed out. Jotaro is a bit of a thug - he broke D'Arby's finger for attempting to cheat at poker. Polnareff is a manchild, he is arrogant and constantly gets into fights for no good reason. That's about all that
...
can be surmised from the little amount of character building that happens in this short OVA. There are practically no scenes devoted to character development, so we really don't get to know the characters in depth. Actually most of the character development happened in the 7-episode prequel OVA. The Joestars want to save Holly and the other team members are there to get revenge on Dio. So the overall picture is there, but the characters aren't quite fully fleshed out. Overall 2 out of 4 for having undeveloped yet sound characters.
Story - The story is pretty much nonsensical. Stands are somehow related to Tarot cards? This is never explained or explored. The villains are extremely inefficient at trying to kill the protagonists (I suppose if they were efficient, then the protagonists would never succeed) for example Hol Horse confronting Polnareff in the middle of the street and telling him about how his gun stand is superior to Polnareff's sword stand. Dio Brando being terrible at using his stand. Vanilla Ice acting like a complete idiot to get hit by Iggy and killed by Polnareff who was lying on the ground right in front of him. Jotaro suddenly developing the time-stop ability OUT OF NOWHERE just to defeat Dio. Polnareff jumping in to save Jotaro just as Dio is about to decapitate Jotaro. Dio landing exactly on Joseph's body after getting furiously punched by Jotaro. The entire stand thing makes no sense and the whole story is based around stands. It is truly bizarre. 0 out of 3 for not making any sense.
Oh and also, I might add that chocolate EXPANDS when molten, so the whole idea of D'Arby melting chocolate to make more room for an extra coin to be dropped into the cup makes no sense at all.
Overall 5 out of 10 for having undeveloped characters and a completely nonsensical story.

Style - DTB2 has style, this cannot be denied. Even though it had its flaws, animation and art was not one of them. The style is on par with Season 1 and Gaiden. 3 out of 3.
Character - I am not exaggerating when I say that there are no likable characters in Season 2. Hobo Hei? Just a violent drunk child abusing hobo. Suou? A brat. Mao? An annoying squirrel; he barely even features in the story. How did he even survive anyway? He was supposed to have died in Season 1. Yin? Now a suicidal godlike being. I never liked Misaki anyway, she became
...
obsessed with this one random guy for no apparent reason. It's like she has no life outside of chasing Hei. And then you add in the gender-benders, the lesbians and the pedophiles. I didn't feel anything when the characters died. 0 out of 4 for no likable characters AT ALL.
Story - Absolutely atrocious. Unlike season 1 there are no 2-episode arcs, instead there is one 12-episode arc. The story is complete nonsense as expected. The entire thing is predicated on some prophesy about 2 vague characters "Izanami" and "Izanagi" coming together to end the world. Here's what actually happened: Shion made a copy of all contractors as well as THE EARTH ITSELF LOL where they can live happily ever after without having those pesky humans bothering them. Also, Shion made a male copy of Yin who goes around killing everyone (only humans, of course) for no apparent reason. If you thought the Season 1 ending was bad, check out Season 2. 0 out of 3 for complete and utter nonsense.
Overall 3 out of 10 for having no likable characters and a completely nonsensical story.
