Many similar plot points: -A poor highschool girl forced to work in a Bishounen paradise due to her unexpected/accidental debt to the business. -The customers are all women who want to escape from reality and bask in the services provided by all the handsome bishies. :p -The main character is perceived as being very boyish, and has been forced to crossdress. -A couple signature personalities in the bishies. (Sadist, Quiet, etc.)

They both are short little episodes about significant, beautiful moments in people's lives. Also, they both have extremely minimal animation.

Both manga feature the main character moving into a boarding complex and falling in love with one of the residents. The other residents of the complexes have eccentric personalities, and the landlord/lady being rather okay with the ruckus. They are both light hearted romantic comedies that you can just sit back and relax to, and will have some suspenseful places in the story that will keep you aboard.

They are rather similar in more ways than one. First of all, Umaru and Kohina are very much alike in that they are chibi in the majority of their shows. Umaru shrinks into her chibi version when she gets home and basically wants to laze around all day and watch anime. Kohina is chibi when she is showing indifference and no emotions whatsoever (like a "doll"). They both love food. (Umaru loves snacks, Kohina has a obsession for cup noodles) Another aspect is Umaru's brother and Kokkuri-San. They both care for their little sister/?haunting victim?, and often do things for them. Buying food, cleaning, daily household chores. They are both Slice of Life. Their contrast is that, with Umaru, it's more or less a slice of life anime, and no doubt is exceptional, in my opinion, while Gugure! Kokkuri-San has more things that are supernatural/fantasy based. I enjoyed both of them quite a bit, and love Umaru and Kohina to death! >o<)/
