This should be renamed "The demon army's strongest mage is a modern day human pacifistic dumba*s".
That about sums up why this sucks so much.
Basically, we have this idiot that pretends to be cool and wants humans and demons to get along, despite from what I understand it never actually interacting much with humans in the first place as he was raised by a demon (this is shown from the start, not a spoiler).
He is shown as being collected and "smart" but honestly, his tactics suck and he, despite where he was raised and despite the humans clearly being more evil than the demons in this
...
case, refuses to kill. Not even the most despicable enemy will be killed, when he corners them he simply lets them go, even going so far as to stopping someone who had his people killed and pretty much enslaved because of him from killing the dude. Then when that particular character says he'll regret being a little justice hero p*ssy (slightly modified from the original), he just says nah, who cares, I'll be stronger later. Traitors who literally stab him in the back are also not killed, at most he'll run and tattle to the demon king after confronting them.
Like, what the hell.
Every single other character isn't much better as all of them exist simply to praise him or for the author to try making the protagonist look cool in some way. The demon king has zero personality, the rest have such a one dimensional personality that it's difficult to believe they actually exist in 2D.
Why would they even bother to animate trash like this? Do some people actually go "Damn, I wish I could experience more fake bullsh*t political correctness and self-insert as a bland pacifist justice wannabe teaching those savages in other worlds that killing is wrong even when said people kill dozens, hundreds or even more and do all kinds of vile acts with no law/force to properly govern them."
If you told me this dude is actually a generic shounen protagonist from modern day japan who goes "LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP IS POWER" in his spare time and just happened to get isekai trucked while crossing the road, I'd believe you. This dude just doesn't belong in a medieval-type place with wars and conflict everywhere and to place him there is almost offensive, at least in his position. This dude leads a part of the demon army at the forefront of the war, it's not like he's a random farmer or commoner just minding their own business out of everyone's sight and wishing world peace for their own and others safety. This dude decided that despite seeing all this crap and having grand goals of co-existence, he refuses to sacrifice anyone nor kill anyone and he doesn't even want to allow his subordinates to kill, risking their lives unnecessarily too.
If he at least killed people in defense but not civilians or people he attacks, I'd respect him a bit more, that'd at least be a better stance to have for world peace. No mercy for those who would massacre his underlings, but mercy for the innocent.

Wow, that some trash can even get an anime adaptation is incredible.
I mean, this is just bad enough to deserve such criticism. I don't know how bad the original is, but the adaptation is truly garbage tier.
I kept on cringing and rolling my eyes while watching this, it's as if everyone in this anime is mentally deficient to put it mildly. Hell, the show can't even stick to its own premise, "sweet", it's supposed to be about baking/sweets, the opening and so on is entirely focused on this, so is the initial premise, we're heavily promised this, but when we're thrown in, we realize almost
...
the only baking/patisserie stuff goes on in his empty head as he drools from his own imagination and maybe an apple pie and some minor stuff that wasn't even close to the focus nor properly shown. If a show can't even stick to its premise/title at the starting line, the author is doing something very wrong and that in and of itself is proof that the author can't be that bright, which is reflected in their characters, even down to their names since important characters, even villains, are just named after pastries for no reason (it's ok to let the protagonist have a pastry-related name but wtf is up with everyone being pastries? I guess they do have the intellect befitting of such a name though). It's as if the author is just screaming "look at this, it's soooo weird and unusual, he wants to build a country of sweets, yay, how weird and not cliché, interesting, right?" because he couldn't think up a proper setting, he just wanted the crutch of "protagonist likes sweets and wants to bake" to pretend to be different than the most generic of trash isekai out there, then failing completely as he didn't even focus on that part properly...
The protagonist is an idiot at best and it's just made worse by everyone else being even more stupid than him to make up for him being a moron. His ideas make no sense, he acts as if he's truly 9 years old despite his actual age, he lived in our modern day age yet has zero clue about anything except making sweets. His tactics are trash, his mentality is that of a child, he thinks up "smart stuff" that ends up not only being simple but also a crappy way to use his abilities.
It wouldn't be as bad if he was meant to be stupid, but it's very clear that he's meant to be very smart, which means others around him need to be amazed at his awesomeness and be even dumber than he is. So, they end up even more moronic than he is to make him appear smarter than them.
Oh, and we're also thrown into this not knowing his backstory while growing up, so to us, it makes zero sense that a literal 9 year old child is given so much responsibility, to the point of being left to lead the stronghold when the adults go out to do a suicide rush at the enemy, just 2 people against what, 70? Everyone listens to him and he thinks up "brilliant ideas" that's not brilliant at all but work because the author can force it. Maybe things would make slightly more sense if the anime gave a recap of him growing up first or didn't just rush everything to the point where we don't know any of his abilities until he uses them for the first time? Really, he's also the one taking control of any and all conversations as his father and everyone sit back and stare blankly into the wall, he says simple, innocent and naive crap that would never fly but other characters act as if he's a tactical genius with a great gift for debate... I'm so sad I had to watch this, even if I kept it as background noise while reading something else after the first 3 episodes.
Even his personality sucks, he's just kind and stupid and that's it. The rest of the cast appear just as artificial as him, it's as if they're walking cardboard cutouts with pre-recorded lines and just 1-2 actions they might take, that they're lacking "life" is an understatement, it feels like this is a 10 year old's idea of a "natural conversation".
I don't feel like anyone should watch this, ever. It doesn't deserve to be watched with how trashy it is.
They're truly scraping the bottom of the barrel with this. Surely there's better stuff out there to animate, but maybe this studio just mutilated what would've otherwise been a half-decent story? It wouldn't be the first time.

This show can be summed up as just being mind numbingly boring. The protagonist is dull, the other characters are uninteresting, the comedy is nonexistent, it feels like a half-arsed study textbook.
I'd rather re-watch any decent series than waste my time on this, one of the few anime that are so dull that I had to turn it off to not become depressed even when I tried to use it as background noise.
I wonder what people find attractive about characters that don't seem to even have any real emotions as they communicate in a lethargic fashion. This had the potential to be very funny but
...
is just badly executed.

This had the potential to be a fun and cute RomCom with a relatively unique setting if they had kept with the original setting properly and utilized it well. Sadly, it falls short to the extent that I felt like dropping it halfway through and it only got worse from there.
We start the show with a stupid but decently cute/fun setting, the heroine speaks her honest and true feelings in russian, which the protagonist understands. So, basically it's very similar to if the protagonist had an ability to read her mind at times because she believes these words of hers to be impossible to understand
...
for him. On that note, I think that an actual mind reading ability would've been funnier and had more potential overall than this which feels a bit convoluted, since seriously, if someone I cared about spoke select phrases to me in russian regularly, I would be curious enough to look it up, we don't live in an age without the internet anymore. Normally I wouldn't poke at these points in a comedy series, but it starts taking itself far too seriously quickly which means that I am obligated to care about flaws in logic.
Sounds like a pretty fun idea and it is pretty nice the first few episodes, but it quickly de-rails from a romcom into generic conflict trash where everyone has their own sad or to some extent negative background, even side characters quickly get their own dramas to show off.
It really feels like the author introduced all of this ad hoc, suddenly we have a grandfather in the background that cares way too much about a mere first year high school student's (and previously middle school student's) little running for school council president and is pissed at the talented protagonist for not being his little slave, the sister is pretty much the definition of a caged bird over there, we suddenly have weird characters popping up like her shadowy maid, suddenly we run for president at school and split apart all sides and it irrelevant outside parties end up involved for no good reason. Suddenly the previous running opposition is introduced and for some reason she's the daughter of another company probably opposed to their grandfather's company. Sorry if I don't believe that these settings were original instead of just shoved in there as it wasn't clear from the start but rather introduced a good bit in, the focus at the start was on the russian girl and protagonist, maybe a bit of his sister, but suddenly they're barely the focus anymore since it's an all-encompassing drama now with tiny bits of "comedy" that fall flat.
Oh, and the whole meaning for its title? The thing where she says embarrassing stuff in russian? Yeah, that's pretty much gone halfway in. It happens every once in a while but is completely useless as a plot device at that point. It could've been so fun, but the author never uses it properly. Hell, even at the first few episodes when she does speak a bit of russian frequently, he just deals with it by retorting inwardly and pretending to be oblivious, it's lazy writing at its best. Just hypothetically, what if he ACTUALLY used the information for something? To tease her or something similar? Leaving her embarrassed or wondering how he could, by mere coincidence, guessing her words/meaning correctly? It does have some potential, though once again it would've had far more potential if he could just read her surface thoughts instead. But nah, let's take the super lazy way out where every time is identical and there's nothing past her saying something and him being a bit embarrassed.
This is a disappointment of a series. It had potential but ruined it all with cookie cutter drama that couldn't be less unoriginal. It's a big red flag when the author manages to stray so far that the TITLE becomes irrelevant. The title is supposed to encompass the entire story, it's supposed to revolve around whatever's in the title, if you make an overly descriptive title like this, you bind yourself down to follow up. That's where these long titles instead of vaguer short ones suck so much. If you don't have the confidence to keep with the premise, then don't write it into the title, it gives readers false expectations.
I wouldn't recommend this to others, it was decent for a few episodes before messing everything up.

Hello to everyone reading this. I know, I know, this anime is "horrible", how can I give it a 10/10? Surely the other reviewers can't be wrong!
Nah, they're not wrong that it's not a masterpiece, and it should not be recommended to a lot of people. My 10/10 is more of a mix of my enjoyment factor knowing exactly what I was in for before watching it as well as my feelings that most people were way too harsh with this for all the wrong reasons. It does not deserve this level of hate, I'd call it a solid 7/10 anime overall if you just
...
consider what it wanted to do and what it wanted to be.
Now, hear me out. This is not the story of the century, rather, the story isn't here at all. It knows that, and this level of oversimplified is so clearly intentional. It takes the generic and ramps it up to a thousand to the point it becomes funny/silly because you know they're just messing around. I mean, really, while watching this, it often feels like the ones who wrote and animated it were making fun of the stereotypes by making it even more extreme.
The girls fall so incredibly easily for all the wrong reasons (one falls in love after the most awkward improv kidnapping ever, another one after the mc reminded her of her brother because he wanted "baked apples", another one because he told her the other kids would needed more company). It's no doubt making fun of the usual harem protagonist who makes girls fall in love all too easily by making it very clear it's just silly. I definitely had some "daamn, really?" laughs about it.
Then we have the protagonist, the most generic dude out there, he's got no real personality, like so many other harem protagonist, and this is overdone even more here, where he just goes with the flow and says the most ridiculous things that is supposed to make him appear kind and brave, but it just ends up stupid and a bit funny. It's especially crazy how much he goes with the flow, he's so easily impressionable and seems to have no bottom line.
Then we have an excessively horny and lewd mascot character that spends every episode just dry humping things and being a lascivious menace, pushing the protagonist forward with guide books on conquering girls and setting up various scenarios for him to tell the girls to "have his baby". I personally really liked this raccoon mascot, it's the source of a lot of the crude humor and my favorite is when it pushes him to be gay, which he seems to not be so opposed to despite being straight. This mascot even turns out to be one of the maidens in the end and he conquers her too, before she gains human shape too, haha.
It's just overall a silly, brainrot over the top anime that tried and succeeded in overdoing the tropes on purpose to the point where it's funny because it's clear they did it on purpose and this anime had no story nor purpose to begin with other than poking fun at stereotypes.
I believe, with all my heart, that a big part of the people rating it just got tricked into thinking this was somehow going to be a typical harem anime with a story to tell and that they got c*ckblocked because there's no true ecchi or sex here despite the name and people being led on at the start.
I had more fun watching this than I had watching a lot of 7/10 or even 8/10 anime. If you go into this with the wrong mindset and expectations, you will get pissed off and hate it, but if you know what it's trying to do from the start, you will likely have a fun time as you don't try to poke at the story but rather enjoy the comedy and overblown tropes. Saying you hate this because the story is bad is basically the same as saying you hate pizza because it's not potato chips, or that you hate p*rn because it doesn't have a well directed story line. It doesn't make much sense to hate something it's not supposed to be from the start.

Honestly, this is gutter trash at its worst. It has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. At least some ecchi anime at least have good animation and sexy scenes, while this is a trainwreck that uses 3D models for pretty much EVERYTHING that moves even slightly, perhaps some things that don’t move too. I am very surprised with just how low an anime can fall, the word ”pathetic” barely even begins to sum up how horrible it is.
The manga had great art, fast pace, no unnecessary scenes or drama, lots of ecchi and it felt so lighthearted that even the abuse felt ok even though I’m more
...
of a sadist, because he didn’t feel as offensive as some doormat mcs, at least he’s got balls and gets stepped on because he likes it, not because he’s a wimp.
Then enter the anime, some of the worst art I’ve ever seen in an anime with incredibly clear overuse of choppy and ugly 3D animated models (budget much?), messy and dragged out pace due to added drama and more ”political correctness”, hell, they changed a lot of parts completely and focused far too much on forced, artificial and horribly written drama, the writers for this are incredibly untalented. The ecchi is quite toned down and far worse due to bad art, it’s far from as lighthearted and fast paced, the mc feels more like a true abuse victim, ends up being written as a true wimp and doormat and the girls end up seeming far harsher due to the voice actors’ intonations and even newor changed dialogue lines.
I detest the anime. It’s a train wreck, purely irredeemable gutter trash. It does everything wrong, not a single element is praiseworthy. Music, sfx, art, story, voice acting… It’s rare that everything ends up so wrong. It’s as if this is a joke to them. Clearly it’s just an attempt to grab some cash with zero love given to it. The manga is at least readable, although the story sucks there too, it’s made up for by the art, ecchi, cool scenes and pace that never stops for more than the bare minimum of drama and the characters are likable enough.
Don’t waste your time, read the manga instead if the setting intrigues you.

To me, this wasn't really worth watching, not even as background noise. Yet, I can't bring myself to hate it, it's just so incredibly unremarkable. It's not funny, it's not exciting, it's not interesting, it's not annoying, it's not irritating, it's just dreadfully monotone. Everyone talking in slow motion, nothing even remotely creative happening, the low-quality animation...
It has literally nothing whatsoever to offer to my tastes. It's supposed to be a relaxing comedy or something along those lines, but I personally simply do not understand how the jokes are supposed to be funny. I can see where the jokes are told, but every single one
...
falls flat to the super slow paced, monotone story and voices. Nothing happens, even compared to other slice of life stories, this one is so incredibly uneventful, filled with cheesy and unimaginative jokes at best.
I can't bring myself to recommend this to anyone, but at the same time I believe some people out there will enjoy this complete lack of pace and it's so damn unoffensive, or rather just unremarkable in every way, that I won't give it a lower score than this. It's bad, but I managed to power through it as background noise.
What makes me most surprised is how they could possibly make 50 episodes of this. Maybe they just went on with it since it was relatively easy work with all the super stiff animals and often simple animals, they barely even move even compared to other anime and a lot of them look the same.

This was so fundamentally horrible that I just couldn't resist writing a review to recommend people not to watch it. I usually just write reviews for novels as far more time is dedicated to read through a novel and you truly get to get immersed in everything the story has to offer compared to the short-lived and often disappointing format of anime adaptations.
This is... really, it's almost infuriatingly bad, yet you're left feeling more melancholic about how this garbage had resources wasted on it instead.
The music is crap. The setting is badly executed. The characters can't make you give a single f*ck, not even
...
one of them. The story is just childish at best and the animation feels both low budget and low skill.
We have the protagonist, the dude lacking both will and motivation, who spends every day preaching how abandoning responsibility is great and clearly having no idea of his own worth, not even telling his "hero" sister that he was leaving because the most idiotic in the party chased him away. Now he just spends his time in some godforsaken land where he aims to be an apothecary and live every day the same.
Then we have the big boobs that somehow found him there and forcibly moved in with no warning. This girl loves him and they quickly start flirting, kissing, hugging and whatever. We get some tiny snippets of backstory every now and then. Overall, she's also a boring character we have no incentive to like and that doesn't act human in the least.
Go on and we have various villagers who are only there to be hurt, healed and be friendly. Not a single one of them has even half decent character development, they might as well be villager A and B.
Villains in this story are either instantly finished off or easily screw themselves over, none of them appear particularly evil or interesting. Even demons are either soulless shells or morons that just seem to be yet another stupid human.
His sister, the hero, and the entire hero party are also cardboard cutouts. The foolish half-evil but mainly stupid sage who apparently want to get into the hero's pants or something, some emotionless add-on heroes and then the hero herself, the emotionless brocon who can't do what she wants because the oh-so horrible blessing dictates she be a hero without feelings, completely unappealing.
There's nothing happening in this story. Nothing. Just some forced events. It's painfully slow, every episode seems to be filler, nothing interesting happens and worst of all, none of the characters have anything resembling a soul, it's not funny in any way nor does it even have a real story. We don't get any build up, imagine suddenly starting an anime at the end of a story and just showing some filler episodes of the after-story.
We're supposed to care about the characters with just some words. Life sucks for this guy because he doesn't have a good blessing, this girl is awesome because she likes the protagonist and has big boobs, this hero is pitiful because her blessing actually secretly sucks. He's done so much to deserve this now slow life. Nah, sorry, it doesn't work like that. If you don't show us gradually why we should like them and build their characters up by the actions they take, no one is going to care about them. This is a story of side characters that aren't explained properly, it's just shoved down our throat.
Adding insult to injury, these characters are basically unlikable from the get go. They don't show much in the way of emotion, not a single one of them. All of them are painfully robotic in everything they do. The animation makes a great job of emphasizing their soullessness by being horribly bland, there's no real change in expressions, people are just static dolls, even supposedly emotional scenes are ruined by crap skills. They don't even properly animate a lot of stuff, like just making fluctuating brightness values for almost static candles, not showing movements, instead just the end position, cutting out most parts and for things like lightning, they just phase in and out 1-2 frames of yellow light at high value rapidly, it also does stuff like just moving around a static hand on a static map, not even changing lighting or perspective slightly. Everyone moves like some damn sloths at best. Truly, the animation serves to make this already bland show a disaster piece of shit, I didn't realize just how shit things could get if BOTH story and animation was this bad.
Can only believe this was written as some escapist fantasy by yet another overworked japanese dude or just someone jumping on the bandwagon of that cliché. The blessings are just a shoutout to people's talents and fates to usually just be a cog in society and the protagonist is simply a burned out dude who has given up on life and is now avoiding reality. Not sure about the studio, but if this is their usual quality, they should shut down or boot most of the staff and hire people that actually know what they're doing and doesn't do everything they can to cut down on everything that makes an anime an anime, that is, animation.
Not recommended, ever. This isn't a 7/10 show, this is a 5/10 show by skewed myanimelist rating standards, 2/10 or 3/10 at most by normal standards.

Sigh, tricked by the score. Here I thought it was something special because of how much attention it has clearly been getting.
It was a bit painful to watch this trainwreck right from episode 1. Don't get me wrong, the animation quality, sound, VA wasn't bad at all. It was great. The problem is the story, seemingly a lot of people think that cute girls and action can justify such horrible writing.
This anime is a mish-mash of clichés, cute girls doing cute things, stupidly illogical gunfights and one of the worst secretive organizations I've ever had the displeasure to be exposed to. It's idiotic on so
...
many levels.
We have the secretive organization that trains orphaned kids so that we can have high school/middle school girls(for some reason pretty much exclusively cute girls) running around with guns while using school uniforms and skirts while fighting crimes to pretend to be a part of the public. Oh, and of course they all use the same uniform all the time outside, as if to scream at enemies to attack them, so much for secrecy. These girls actively kill terrorists everywhere and "make japan safe and peaceful". I guess guys just aren't cut out for this(though the male version does show up in a minor version in an antagonistic fashion, they're still just kids though, stupid that there's an all female and an all male faction). Also, I guess immature kids in the midst of their teens(or preteens) are so damn well suited to special ops, they're not even well disciplined. Also, I guess adults just aren't fit for this either, gotta have cute, below 18 females, can't have any guys that aren't old and not a possible target for romance. This secretive organization is also so high-profile that there's no way it'd be a secret, it's run as if the leaders have shit for brains. There's clearly no proper structure.
Then, of course, the super hacker, the best in the world, is a cute little loli that appears 10-12. I was of the impression from the dialogue that this person was present since long ago but I guess not, her reputation is insane, maybe she started using her laptop to hack stuff while in her mother's womb. Overall, she just acts like a typical cliché loli, except she's "sooo smart and collected". As usual the "hacking" is her playing it like it's a game, literally, even including game graphics and mechanics. photo analystics are 1 button auto, she can get everything she wants easily. Not a smidgen of realism.
The other girls also act like typical high school girls in anime. Honestly, I can't stand the two main character girls. The black haired one show barely any emotions and is so stuck in her ways and inflexible it just makes her boring. The other platinum/blonde haired girl is the COMPLETE opposite. She's so high paced, hyper and my paced that she makes someone with actual ADHD look very normal and calm. I really dislike her moronic outbursts, extremely exaggerated expressions and gestures and I also hate that she refuses to kill people despite the kind of organization she is in and how dangerous the situations are, nothing more moronic than using non-lethal means that doesn't even knockout people properly, she's basically she's bringing a banana to a knifefight. Another thing about her, I just don't buy her ability to 100% avoid any and all bullets. Even rapid fire is avoided like it's nothing. I can kinda buy avoiding slow handgun fire by predicting the trajectory from the barrel position and hand movement, but what she is doing is a pure supernatural ability and that doesn't even explain how she can avoid strafing fire where there's no room to evade...
These character templates aren't too bad normally, but the issue is that they're trying to bring seriousness into what is clearly a cute girls doing cute things anime. They fit more into a school setting.
I've rarely seen animes that are so bad that I just feel the desire to drop them all the time. Anime that suck from the first few minutes all the all the way to the end.
I fail to see what the hype was about. This is just plain bad, the 3/10 rating is just for the good animation/VA/Sound. I regret watching this.

I almost couldn't finish this. Not sure why some people like it, though it seems a lot of the people are just fans of the OVAs that I haven't watched. Maybe if I was younger and less tempered by countless anime, manga and novels from different countries, I might've enjoyed this more. Maybe. Or perhaps it's just not for me? Though I'm sure I would've loved it as a kid.
I really can't stand this anime. The story is dreadful, so many question marks about the story. The characters are all boring and seem to be one-dimensonal, they stick too rigidly to their personality quirks, they
...
lack the flexibility of any human being, which makes them seem forced and artificial. In other words, way too simple.
What I can't stand the most is the protagonist. She's a prime example of an overdone ADHD character and I'm using that knowing perfectly well what it signifies. She has the attention span of a goldfish and the hyperactivity and silliness or plain stupidity of a husky. She runs around doing stupid crap 24/7, putting her life at risk, thanking people who almost get her killed, screwing simple things up by acting like a spoiled toddler, just in the first few episodes we're treated to things like her not researching how to get to school, almost getting them killed by not throwing away some salty food, jumping in front of something akin to a magic bullet instead of talking, running around trying to cast spells loudly with no idea how to, making a huge joke of herself over and over again, just not learning from being burned, screaming her lungs out repeating herself when the broom spell doesn't work instead of listening to the teacher's advice and so on. She's nothing but a walking joke.
Do people REALLY find loudmouth super hyper fools to be funny? Is it because she's a girl so it's supposed to appeal to people who like the cute girls doing cute things stuff? Thing is, those animes work because there is no danger, there is no need to care about anything and no getting shamed either and even then they're usually not this hyper or stupid... Screaming and running around doing stupid crap is funny, right? If that's the level we're going for, comedy suddenly became real damn simple. I'm not actually asking her to be very smart or calm/collected, just want her to not act like a nutcase with questionable brain status and a body on hard drugs. Hell, this would've been more bearable if only they focused on some things instead of trying to cover a lot. How about not making the world dangerous and bring into play issues like borderline bullying and class/status conflicts. I mean, if you want to make an airheaded character like this, at least make the scenario/world setting fit her so that it doesn't come across as plain annoying.
The art isn't even particularly good, it feels like they wanted to go for a good visual experience with lots of cool visual effects but ended up half-assing it due to budget and time constraints so everything just looks rushed.
It's really a question mark to me why people like this. Perhaps it would be fairly enjoyable if the protagonist could be a happy go lucky girl that, while fairly hyper, happy and outgoing, actually thinks with her brain as well and doesn't repeatedly and actively make a fool of herself. A character that can stop herself from acting on impulse 24/7 like some kind of a f*king animal. Even your typical beast would act more wise and intelligent than her, at least they wouldn't actively jump into a blazing fire that couldn't be more obvious.
So, yeah, this might be a wet dream kind of anime for kids and younger teens might also enjoy it immensely, but I really wonder about loving it as an adult who values story and characters to at least some extent.
