I think there is one main problem with Killing Stalking. It was marketed as, the crazy fans treated it as and it is even marked as a yaoi. It is a psychological horror with gay people. That does not mean it has to be a yaoi/bl. It does not have to be labled seperatly. If you treat it as a psychological horror I think it will fix some of the problems people have. I cannot speak on if you don't like the plot, or disturbing images which is perfectly alright.

I'm going to preface this with two things. One I am known as a heartless viewer who crys infrequently and is very desensitized in general. I did not and will not cry watching Grave of the Fireflies. two, I watched Bokurano in July 2019 and it still carrys with me as one of the most emotionally impact pieces of media I have ever seen.
*Expect Spoilers* Writing children in media is a touchy subject escpacually when confronting the sensitive topics Bokurano presents. While I cannot tell you the same or even remember every kids face I can almost certainly remember each story and each death. Which shows ... May 31, 2020

As someone who just watched this at 2am in 2020 my immediate reaction was.
"Reminds me of early Imaishi works (Dead Leaves comes to mind) but with the same lonely feelings of a world of alienation as Kaiba" probably one of the strangest comparisons I know. I didn't get much from any of the characters other then the father. But the art, music and even premise were able to hold it up for me. My conflicting feeling is this though. If they lengthened it to about an hour (like Dead Leaves lol) i think the characters would have been done a favor and would have had ... |
