the best part of SAO, is SAO itself.
that statement came up when i was in the middle of watching this movie in the theater.
Why you may ask ? let me tell you why.
SAO has always have a special place in my heart. I remembered when the first season came up back in 2012, i was still in first grade of junior high school. Being the first anime that got me into this rabbit hole, i was astonished of how the world of anime has portrayed stories. At that time, i always find myself imagining being transported into fantasy world and being the main character
...
and doing all of those OP stuff. It was a fun childhood memory.
Looking back at it and revisiting SAO now, it was clear to me that the thing that got me hooked really, really hard was not only the premise of being transported into a fantasy world and being OP, it was also the world building. You see, SAO has lots of arc, we have Alfheim, Gun Gale, Underworld, and possibly more. Deriving from an anime only watcher, i always hated the other arcs beside SAO itself for some reason, and now it came up pretty clear of why it is what it is.
The Aincrad Arc was the best, because it only has one goal, to beat the game. By focusing on that one goal, you explore myriad of aspects of the game, you train, you grind, you meet new people, you explore new places, you have fun. And those very reasons is why i really love this part of SAO. The concept of fantasy world mixed with MMO features of games, this is what my 12 years old self loved. Yes, all the other games in SAO has this concept, but one thing that differs SAO from the other is, it was fun. I know it sounds funny knowing that if you die in SAO you die in real life, but that's why it's different from the other. We have real people, trying their best to beat the game, working with other real people, to achieve the very same goal, to escape death. And doing so, we explore so many people with various backgrounds, various personality. They all know what they're going to die if they die in this world, but they still can have fun. That very reason is why i love SAO.
And of course, there's the world of Aincrad. I love the concept of 100 floors with each floor having their own theme. We have floors that only has winter, summer, one that has the theme of a lake, castle, and more. With this being the base concept of the world, we have beautiful surroundings and the possibility of discovering new environment is endless!
I really could go on and make an essay out of explaining the world of SAO but i midway realized that this was a review on SAO Progressive lmao.
This movie is basically a recap of the first two episodes of SAO but with Asuna's perspective. There are some minor changes from the original scene but it wasn't really that major. Upon reading some explanation of what progressive series is, this movie focuses on the details of Aincrad and what they fail to portray in the original anime.
In my opinion, they could've done much more with this first movie but they didn't. All they did was just reanimate the first two episodes and added some new stuff and thats it. Albeit we have new characters, and different perspective, it's still feels like i'm watching the same thing. And that is why i'm giving it a 7.
Other than that, it feels good to experience SAO again and i'm really looking forward for the second movie. I really hope they do more new things with the second one.
I'm writing this review while putting LiSA - Yuke on repeat. and i must say, nothing is more iconic than LiSA doing a song on SAO. She never fails to deliver!

When i first saw the trailer, boy i was excited as hell. Was really looking forward for an interesting story about Black Samurai doing some Badass Shit.
But you know what they say, don't put too much expectation on something, you'll regret it when it doesn't goes as you thought it would.
The story is meh, a typical short anime where main character goes to defeat the villain and then they live happily ever after. Saying the story is "meh" is actually me being generous because holy hell, it doesn't make fuckin sense. I'm okay with the era being the age of samurai with a twist of
...
fantasy power such as black magic and stuff, but why the fuck would you put MECHA. why are there robots in this era?
first it doesn't make sense AT ALL, second, they literally didn't explain shit about how they we're so advance into the technology that a war in a samurai age is literally Robots vs Samurai.
I know it's a 6 episode series, but damn, they introduce us to god knows how many disposable characters. You could write a much simpler story and maximize the potential of a few characters just like Demon Slayer.
The only thing worth watching is the animation. Again, MAPPA did a really good job when it comes to animating it. Everything was fluid, gorgeous, and pleasing to the eyes. I just wish the story wasn't as shit as this.
Overall, the story is shit, it doesn't make sense at all. The animation is a banger, soundtrack is okay i guess, i kinda like the hiphop twist. There's no character development, well it is a 6 episode series, so... cant really argue with that. and Enjoyment, mid to none.
In short, just watch it for the animation, i mean it's MAPPA, so yeah..

This review contains some minor spoiler, though if you watch the trailer or see the poster, you should probably know what's going on.
Violet Evergarden holds a special place in my heart.
I watch it for the first time two years ago, and even made a review about it back then. As time passed, i gradually started to forgot how the story goes and decided to watch it again.
Few episodes in, and i remember why this anime stayed as one of my favorite of all time. Musics, writings, emotions, expressions, everything is in perfect mixture. And i can say that to the movie as well.
While i must
...
admit that the series has made me shed tears more than i should, but for the movie itself, i didn't cry at all.
I'm not saying that it's bad, it's just that it focused on different aspect. Other than delivering people's expressions and emotions, the series itself focused on Violet's journey on understanding the meaning of "i Love You", while the movie focuses on what violet does after understanding the meaning, which is to reply it.
The movie, for me was a great one. though i must say it didn't fit my expectations, but i wasn't disappointed.
Story wise, it's the continuation of the series. while the series is for building up Violet's character, the movie is to show just how much violet has grown. For me, seeing how violet's became who she is now, and finishing her journey on understanding the emotion of other people, just made me smile happily through out the movie.
SPOILER ALERT
I really like how the series really make people think that gilbert is dead. it really brings up the harsh reality that violet has to live with. Seeing gilbert now in the movie and surprisingly still alive, i was in complete mixed feeling. i was so worry that this might turn the story upside down, but in the end, it ended happily.
Not much romantic stuff happened in the movie, which is nice because for me, the highlight of these two's journey in this movie is the reunion.
----
Art wise, *insert violet thumbs up image*
KyoAni never fail to deliver their art. i don't need to explain it in detail because if you watch the series, you already know how good it is.
Sound/Music wise,
again, perfectly performed. everything fits well with the atmosphere. for real tho, who's in charge of the soundings ? i want to thank them personally
----
Overall,
Eventhough the story itself focused on different aspect than how the series does, i still very much enjoy it every single bit. looking forward for a spin-off or even a sequel that focus on the romantic side of the story :)
I really want to quote what Dietfried said to Gilbert at the end of the movie, but i just couldn't remember the exact word of it. It goes like how funny it is that people can't express their true feelings to others.
Hey, if you're reading this, yes i still like you. please don't leave me. i know i'm dumb but that's more reason to not leave me alone
Anyway, i'll be giving a 9/10 for this movie. Let's just hope we got more in the future!
Thank you for reading!
Sincerely,
Senaya

When i first saw the news, saying this movie has surpassed Spirited Away and became the no 1 top grossing film in japan, i just couldn't believe it.
As a manga reader, i didn't remember that this part of the story was worthy of being the top. But then, i decided to watch it today, and well as you can see from my score, it blew my mind.
Kimetsu no Yaiba has done it again. Even though this is a sequel of an anime series, it still manage to overthrow the no 1 spot, which was an original anime movie (not related to any series) and they
...
surely did not fail to deliver the expectations that people gave.
Story wise, it continues exactly where the series end, and from what i remembered before watching the movie, this part of the story is one of the most important ones, and i must say it again, Ufotable did not fail to deliver.
What kimetsu has that no other anime had, was their animation. While we all know the series was a masterpiece in terms of animation, they surpassed my expectations for the movie. It's been a while since the series ended and i forgot how beautiful the animations were, and they did amazingly for the movie. The details of the breathing techniques, the sheer amount of work that has putted on the character's emotions and expressions, this is truly has earned a spot in my heart.
Laughter, sorrow, excitement, i was completely overwhelmed by emotions as i watch the movie. While the animations may have been the thing that separates this movie from others, i couldn't just not talk about the story telling that this anime has given. Yes, it's an action anime, yes the fighting is what people love about the movie, but just the way they portray the characters ambitions and resolve is what i think is worthy to also be praised.
Don't get me started on the OSTs, my god it is truly a masterpiece. When godly animations is paired with masterpiece soundtracks, what you get is this movie. So since this movie is still airing in some countries, please i beg of you, watch it in the theater! The OSTs is too beautiful to not be listened in a theater's sound system.
And for those people who hasn't seen this movie, let me give you an advice. As the movie ends and the credits start, pay attention to the artwork and Homura by LiSA in the end credits. I'm one of those fools who checks their phone while the credits was rolling and i truly regret it until now.
Lastly, i want to thank Ufotable and their team that has once again successfully deliver a masterpiece. Please, watch it in theaters while it still airing, because you may regret not watching it with those big speakers.
Yours truly,
Senaya

lies lies lies lies lies.
.
.
.
the fact that i can't grasp with all the thing that was going on was probably because i never had an actual girlfriend. feeling all the love, lies, pain, sacrifice,..
reading this really opens up new things for me, making me realize everything is not how it looks.
.
but tbh tho, this manga has a strong beginning, promising, yet full of disappointment.
i'm completely hooked with how things were going on at first, but going through the middle of the story and then to the end... i asked my self, what am i reading?
.
i can understand how things unfold into that rute but still,
...
why did it led to this path?
.
anyway, it was quite enjoyable, yet very sad and disappointing. especially the end, lies lies lies, everything is a lie.
.
i'm not disappointed of the manga, i'm disappointed with my self, for not understanding every little bit of it.
.
maybe i should start writing my romance?

the exact time of me writing this review
after watching the last episode, i'm not sure if everyone felt the same thing as i am but truthfully, i'm filled with mixed feelings of happiness, sorrow.
before that, let me explain this series in a bigger picture.
kaguya sama is just a normal romantic comedy, we have 2 main characters who is naive in their own way. im not saying this is a bad thing. in fact, their naiveness of love is what makes this anime worth watching. it takes me back to my high school life where love life is such a beautiful thing.
...
as i watch both of the mc doing their best to have their crush love them back, it really makes me feel happy and sad at the same time. im happy because i get to see their hilarious everyday life as they encounter each other, but at the same time i felt sorrow because it REALLY takes me back to high school life. to be honest, reminiscing high school life is a pain. i just can't get over the fact that the best time of my life is over. the care-free life and seeing all friends in the same place is such a beautiful memory.
welp, enough with that, lets get right to the point.
like i said, kaguya sama is just a normal rom-com. but what really makes me love this anime is their comedic narratives. here we have some kind of moderator who explains everything in such a hilarious way, we have funny everyday skits thats full of surprises, we have the other 2 mc who makes everything even more hilarious and many more. i don't know if im just having lack of research materials but i feel like this is the only anime that has done something like this. in the end, kaguya sama is funny in it's own way.
[SPOILER FREE] this paragraph is something that doesn't really need to be here but i just feel like i should write something about the ending.i watch this anime just for fun, nothing serious, just to have a relaxing time on the couch. but seeing how they concluded the anime is just amazing. i was smiling on my own and damn wasn't expecting to feel this way with this kind of anime. i just can't think of a better ending than what we got, it was perfect. with that, my post-anime depression is back.

tensei shitara slime datta ken is just a generic isekai anime like others.
just a guy transported to a fantasy world but as a slime.
despite the common concept of a story that they use, its still enjoyable. when i say enjoyable, i mean really enjoyable. to be honest, i cant stop watching this anime and i even read the manga and the web novel and with that i can say that this series is a walking masterpiece.
i know saying this anime as a masterpiece is just a stupid idea but in my opinion, i found this series very very interesting. just the idea of starting a
...
new life and then leading a small village to the point where they establish a whole country is just amazing. it makes you really appreciate rimuru's hardwork and want to know more and more.
to be honest, words cant describe how much i love this series and knowing that i need to wait a year for another season is a bit hard for me. well in the meantime, reading ahead in the manga and web novel is always a good idea.
to show my love to this series, i have put everything to 10. well alot of people will probably disagree with me but thats what ratings for right ?

out of all manga that i could read, i cant believe i read a shoujo manga and really got obsessed with it.
maybe it's just that i have a big guy's body with a little girl's heart. but enough with that, lets just get straight in with the review.
i cant really compare to any manga due to the fact that i think its my first time reading shoujo manga. well i can compare it with the anime Maid sama though. both of them really put on some similar vibes.
but what differs them is that amount of insecurities that i got while reading this manga. its
...
just so intense to see those 2 rivals. and with that, they have really made this manga a ton of blast. though its not over yet.
im just craving for some more omg.
a side from all of that, this manga really shows you want a relationship really is between two lovers. just the amount of realisticness that they have put into it made it so relatable to the real world. i just cant stop smiling or grinning to my self when they managed to find some solutions in their relationship problems and doing all of that kiss and make up stuff.
damn i love this manga so much. well theres some part that i dont really like such as shizuka being a little bitch. well i think that's what makes this manga special. that amount of uneasiness that they left to the viewer so that they are craving for more chapters.
for story wise, they really know how to make slice of life really enjoyable. im just happy that they manage to balance the comedy with romance. tbh the story really makes me sad, i feel like i want to go back to highschool lol. god please revive me to another world so that i can live my highschool life again.
for art, well nothing special i guess. i love how they manage to portray all of the characters expression.
for characters, well since it's a slice of life romance, the amount of character development that they have done is just remarkable. its just that you really feel proud of them because you know what they all have been through. i just love it so much.
for enjoyment, well i dont need to say anything other than the fact that i didn't sleep for a day even though i have class (i didnt sleep literally for 30 hours just to read this).
overall, i enjoy it from top to bottom and looking forward for what this manga has to offer more. seriously though, if you are reading this review and you haven't read the manga, i can assure you that you will have a good time reading this.

“Live… and be free. From the bottom of my heart, I love you.” – Gilbert Bougainvillea
as i watch Violet Evergarden, i've come to a conclusion that i hate reality.
reality is a cruel world.
but then without reality, we will also lose ourself in a delusional world.
for such a long time, i've been holding back tears in hopes so that i won't be a crybaby but Violet Evergarden has really easily erased all of that effort that i have put in. maybe i really am a crybaby but, not a single episode has made me not feel emotional.
every episode has been filled with beautiful writings, gorgeous animation
...
and most importantly, love. although they are all an important part in making Violet Evergarden, it will not come close to perfection without reality.
reality plays a huge role in this anime. the broken heart, the feeling of never going to see your loved ones ever again, the words that need to be spoken but yet it's already too late. all of those, are part of reality. with all of that, Violet Evergarden has taught me something that i have been ignoring, and that is death.
it is common in a story but yet has a lot of meaning. surely if a non-important character died, you won't really feel sad about it. but think about it, that person might have someone they love. this is also part of reality.
i just can't imagine if im in their place. the feeling of wanting to see your loved ones, but all you can see is the door of death that has opened.
so before it's too late, let us tell our loved ones the words that needed to be spoken.
Aside from that, Violet Evergarden has really done it. although with those beautiful writings comes a bittersweet story, it has not failed to impress me.
the story is beautifully written, was able to deliver something that any anime right now can't, which is the bittersweetness of reality.
the art, i don't need to say anything. words can't describe how gorgeous it is.
the soundtrack is also something that is out of this world.
and for character, Violet Evergarden has succeeded in showing how a character feels through words and art, and that is something that other anime is lacking.
all of that tears that came out of my eye has made me decide to give a score of 10. maybe you think that i'm a bit generous but for me, Violet Evergarden has really deserved it.

have you really think about what will you do if you know that you only have few days to live ?
i found this manga while scrolling through the top manga list and i was quite surprised to see a 16 chapters manga to be on the top list.
since it's not that much, i decided to read it in hopes to have a relaxing day reading something that is worth the time and oh boy i would say that i would sell my lifespan just to have an alternate version of the main characters not in the same state as they are in the manga.
this manga
...
really teaches you the value of life, well i think of that personally. while i'm reading this, the same thought has crossed my mind. 30 years of lifespan is not going to give you anything if you don't do something good with it. people tend to use their time to be lazy or do something that is not gonna up their life's worth and that is the crucial mistake that they have made. since the manga is too good to be true, what if you could possibly know how much time you have remaining? of course you're gonna start doing something that is not part of your daily routines or so.
then let's take that part and put it in your current self. what if you live your life and think of it as you would die tomorrow?
for me, the future is determined on what you do today. you never know what's gonna happen tomorrow and that is why you should spend your day without wasting any time. well the manga itself is too good to be true, don't expect something gonna happens likewise. instead, use this as motivation that to you live your current life as you were gonna die tomorrow and with that, when you about to reach the limit of your lifespan, you won't be dying with that thing called regret.
Story : 10/10
Art : 9/10
Character : 10/10
Enjoyment : 10/10
Overall : 10/10
the moral lesson of this manga has really affected me in deciding the scores.
