Wonder Egg Priority is what I'd call a missed opportunity. Without making it long, it started decently, setting the anime and introducing the characters in a good way, then it began focusing more on the real world life of the main characters leaving aside the dreamworld battles. The fact that the girls get some OP pets that work as little deus ex machina clearly shows how the show's purpose wasn't to be just about magical girls fighting monsters. All the characters have their own problems and it isn't like they overcome them trought the power of friendship, actually, not much changes in their life, what
...
changes is their behavior and their personality.
In the first 7 episodes the anime manages to touch and in his own way to denounce some social issues and problems Japan is facing (high rate of suicide, bullying in schools, hikikomoris, bad "teaching methods" ecc...).
Until this moment, it was a good anime, a really good one, but from the episode 8 on it starts being something really interesting, but completely different, still beautiful in my opinion. Plot becomes darker, more confusing and mysterious, with twists. Now, what I expect everyone here said the problem with that anime is the ending. I can't blame them, this is not how you write an ending, it just has too many plot holes, to many questions unanswered, it really feels like there are some episodes left that are unrealeased. From what I heard the staff had budget problems but it still feels weird, the animation tier is remains decent so I doubt they decided to change the finale when the anime was broadcasting, the storyline must have been the same one of the final result.
Maybe it has been an ending full of symbolysm and other stuff, but still it doesn't resolve any of all the question marks built in the previous episode. How did the girl who befriended Ai die? Was the teacher a good or a bad person? What is exactly the temptation of the death? Where is Frill by now? How did Frill kill the girl in the bath tub? What is her power? How did the "girls" Frill created arrive in the dreamworld? Why the "Innocent sadness" Kotobuki mentioned was important to resolve the mystery of the two Accas? The hipster Acca actually reveals all that depressing backstory but he doesn't answer anything, on the contrary he creates new question marks.
Really, if only it had had a few more episodes it could have been a masterpiece, too bad it will always remain in the mediocre zone

Deca-Dence is what I'd call a "brave anime", at a first look it may seem an average post apocalyptic and action anime with nothing special except for an outstanding art and a very good animation, but then the second episode comes and upsets everything, I'd say showing a sadist twist, in fact most of the people dropped there the show, what a pity. That episode reveals the truth behind the world of Deca-Dence and it does it astounding and amazing the spectator in the probably most effective way I've ever seen. There the story splits beetween the world of Natsume and Kaburagi, and while in
...
episode 1 Natsume seemed to be the main main character, Kaburagi proves himself being a more interesting and round character, well Natsume remains a great character too, who represents the human spirit and determination ecc..., but Kaburagi is just amazing.
The show from what I remember has no big clichès, well you got it: the plot and the story are good, the real problem with Deca-Dence is something I really can't ignore: the characters.
As I said both Natsume and Kaburagi are good, the problems come with everyone else. Honestly the part of Natsume was a bit worse than the Kaburagi one, it had on his side only the art which was without any doubt way better, the main problem with it is the fact the characters are wasted, for example Linmei who I really expected to be an important character appears in the whole show for like 1 minute overall, it's too strange, I wouldn't be surprised if it was due to some timing problems during the realization of the anime, which are understandble after all that "coronavirus stuff", but still it's a problem, also Kurenai could have been an interesting character, and she does her best in order to, but she just fails; on the Kaburagi side there are plot twists, suspence and a lot of cool stuff, the characters are not even that bad so his part is much more interesting
The opening was good, never skipped it, I don't remember the ending
Deca-Dence is an anime about dreams, war, the limits the fun should have, the inevitability of fate, the importance of invididuality and one's opinion, the getting check without knowing, asserting your thoughts, sacrifice and probably even more, it's a good anime, go watch it as soon as you can, it doesn't have the attention it deserves
Even if... well, Deca-Dence could have given much more if only it had 3 or 4 more episodes, unlucky it had not.

Talking about FLCL sure is hard, because nobody has fucking clue what the hell is going on, but that's the point, so it's good, probably.
It was created by Gainax to try some animation techniques, a normal studio would have just tried them on some random sheets and never publicized them, Gainax made a 6 episode anime out of them, how wholesome. The result is an anime which as both a multitude of different animation styles and a multitude of situations, which the plot tries somehow to link to each other, sometimes successfully, sometimes not.
The show is about, ehm, something...
In a city below a giant and
...
misterious factory which every now and again emanates a dense fume that covers the city itself, here a girl called Haruko hits on a Vespa a boy called Naota, on the whose forehead appears a bump/interdimensional portal, oh and there's also a girl called Mami who loves Naota's big brother, who went overseas in order to become a professional baseball player and later in the story a television robot with diarrhea will join the cast and... you know what? trying to explain the FLCL plot is just stupid. don't even try to understand it by yourself, as I said it's just nosense.
The goal of the series is to show the coming of puberty and how it is lived by a young boy, but putting the viewer in the same condition of the boy: the condition to don't have idea what it's happening, to be confused and to feel stupid.
Every character is unique, not always deep and all, but it's ok, some of them grow, some don't. Probably the biggest growth is seen in Mami, I won't spoil why but it should be pretty clear to anyone who watched the show.
Gainax was famous for its experimental tendency, in FLCL you can see this also by the soundtrack: all the osts are actual songs, with singers, and they are good, actually, I can't tell that much when it comes to music but I'm pretty sure The Pillows songs are good rock songs
The show is funny, self-refential, gainax-refential, obviously strange and mindblowing, but it's also an experience, when it comes to FLCL it isn't the viewer who has the control and the knowledge of what happens in the anime, on the contrary he's at the mercy of it, he can only watch it in silence trying to get something
What I'm trying to say it's that watching FLCL is like being in a stormy sea, you can anything but being tossed here and there while desperately trying to stay afloat, and we love it

A toucan, a lizard and a lion enter in an office, no, it's not a joke, it's Africa no Salaryman, which is way better.
The show tells about some african animals working in a japan-like society, the whole point is to criticize the japanese society, or maybe not, in any case it's amazing, the art is so terrible it becomes appealing, the characters are so nice and friendly you can nothing but love them. there are like 7000 punchlines per episode, they are not always that funny, but sure there are plenty of them that will make you at least smile.
in the opening the main characters
...
do the fortnite dance
in the opening
the main characters
do the fortnite dance
no, it's not cringe, it's epic
I reccomend not to watch all of them in a row, one or two a day is the ideal

If you are now here you sure aren't a completely new weeblet, I bet you have at least already heard of Anohana, Darling in the Franxx and Kiznaiver, you probably have watched one of them and maybe you even enjoyed it, now, if you have watched more of them you may have noticed they are the literal same, mc with family problems falls in love with strange girl (ghost, dinosaur, just a strange girl) and then affairs of the heart come in the group of friends and ruin everything, drama, saddness and many tears flow.
Before watching Ano Natsu de Matteru you better know the creators
...
are the same of those shows I previously mentioned, and the plot is basically the same, and this is the matter indeed: you can tell more or less everything about how the show will go after just one episode, it's so predictable it's embarassing, it wouldn't even be that big deal if the anime didn't try to make you cry and say "oh no, poor *childood friend* I can't believe *mc* chose the alien girl instead of you". If you want to make me cry you have to surprise me. So told, this is a defect only if you watched those anime before this one, Ano Natsu de Matteru is from 2012 so it came out even before Anohana, it's not his fault, now let's try to analyze the show faking to have previous knowledge of what will happen, as I should have actually done from the beginning.
The art here is the best thing, costintent and beautiful, the animation is good as you would expect from J.C. Staff, the characters designs are nice too
I'm not sure I can talk about the sound part since my knowledge about music is near 0, all I can say is I didn't like neither the opening and the ending, but some soundtracks were ok, take that like a mere personal opinion, you could love the op and ed
The character development could seem good at first sight but no, it sucks, their actions are not always understandable and they just accept some strange facts like they were normal "oh so *strange girl* is *the reason why she's strange*... ok no problem*, it seems like the creators prefer to show character development using love triangles, squares and pentagons instead of things that should actually be the fulcrum of the whole thing and that should actually put their friendship in danger. WHAT IS THE POINT OF MAKING A GIRL STRANGE IF YOU DON'T USE HER STRANGENESS IN THE STORY ARGH, the *strange girl* could also be a normal girl like anyone else at this point
The show is still enjoyable it can be just seen as an unpretentious slice of life, the problem is it IS pretentious.
Watch Ano Natsu only if you have nothing better to do, just like I did
I don't have anything else to say, this was my first review, I hope I'll get better with the time, wish me good luck
