Arina Tanemura's manga are best known for it's beautiful artwork, interesting plots, quirky characters and tragic romances. Each of her stories always have something good to offer, and Zettai Kakusei Tenshi Mistress Fortune (MisuFo for short) is no exception...even if it is on the more "relaxed and fun" side.
MisoFo is a one-shot manga, meaning that it isn't meant to be a long, tear jerking love story like some of Tanemura's previous works. No, MisuFo is meant to be something that you pick up and read just to pass the time- but that doesn't mean it has to be bad for you to do so. The
...
story is rather simple, but still interesting; A young girl has Psychic powers and works for the government to help rid the world of Aliens with her cute bishonen partner. The catch? She just happens to be in love with said partner, but her work makes it hard for her to confess her undying love. One of the things I like about the story is how much she does with it. You see everything from the heroine forced to keep her job a secret to her wishes being granted in the worst way possible. However, these points in the story are a bit cliche and the story gets kind of boring at times, only to be quickly brought back by a comedic scene or a romantic one.
As for the Art, it is nothing short of amazing. I have never disliked any artwork that Tanemura produces, so this might be a little biased. Still, anyone can tell just how much work she puts into every panel. The character designs are lovely and the action scenes are very well done. The area Tanemura shines most, though, is the romantic scenes. As always, they are top notch, but sometimes they blush a little too much, haha. It is a shoujo manga, so that is to be expected!
The characters are fairly average. The main cast is very small (only 4 real characters of importance), but my personal favourite has to be Giniro. He's a pervert, but is also very kind and funny. Kisaki, the main character, is basically just your typical shoujo girl, but has large breasts to add a comedic effect. She isn't really anything too special though. Then their's Ebo-Ko, one of the Aliens that is now the duo's pet of sorts. She is the character that adds the most comedy to the story, and even if it's not always really funny, it's enough to put a smile on my face. The last major character is Gunjo- basically Girino and Kisaki's boss. He's lighthearted and feminine, but can also be a bit of an annoyance to our young Psychics in love.
My enjoyment for this manga was fairly average. I knew I would like it because it was created by my favourite manga-ka, but putting that aside it was just your average manga, only with a bit more spunk.
Overall, if you want to sit down and have a quick read that won't bore you to tears and are into the shoujo genre, Zettai Kakusei Tenshi Mistress Fortune is a good book to pick up.

Gyakuten Saiban (Or Ace Attorney, as it is known as in North America and Europe) is a series of visual novel/simulation video games developed by CAPCOM. The series has gotten pretty popular over the 10 years it has been around, so it makes a lot of sense to have a manga series to go along with the games. Even though this is not the manga series I am talking about, this is still an amazing collection of doujins in one nice manga volume, so if you are in any way a fan of Ace Attorney I would highly reccomend this to you.
If you are not
...
a fan of Ace Attorney, I would recommend not reading this manga, due to it's several nods at the games' plotlines and "inside jokes" that could only be understood if you have played the first 3 Ace Attorney games.
Story: 7/10
There isn't really one specific plotline or story the flows through every chapter, since it is just a collection of doujins all written and drawn by different artists. However, the base premise of the Ace Attorney franchise will always be there; the story about a rookie Defense Attorney set on getting that guilty verdict. I think this is a good thing because it makes this manga that much more fun to read. Instead of finishing a chapter and feeling like you wished it went on more, a brand new chapter with refreshinly new art and such appears in front of you, which really gets you hooked to wonder exactly what the next author/artist has come up with for our favourite AA characters to be in. And that leads us into the next part of this review, the characters.
Characters: 10/10
The characters' personalities are almost exactly how they are portrayed in the video games, and that is a very important point when reading a manga based on a video game. They also keep the "who is buddies with who" matched up with the games. Of course, the series' protagonist, Naruhodou Ryuuichi (Phoenix Wright in the English translation) is portrayed perfectly, right down to his somewhat sarcastic tone of voice to his never-ending need to save people from injustice. Wright's lonetime rival and friend Mitsurugi Reiji (English Vers. Miles Edgeworth) is also very well shown, and the Ayasato women (Fey women; Mayoi (Maya), Harumi (Pearl) and Chihiro (Mia)) are as energetic and in character as they always are, even when Mia loses it at times because of a "certian problem" she has. Overall if you fell in love with the characters in the games, chances are you will fall in love with them all over again while reading this manga.
Art: 7/10
The art is definatly a mixed bag in this one; don't expect the clean art in the official games. However, every chapters art is unique and gives a nice spin to all the characters designs. Even though there are certian chapters' art styles that I did not like too much, overall the art is pretty well done and soft on the eyes.
Enjoyment: 9/10
I enjoyed this manga as much as I possibly could. From the full-out chapters to the hilarious 4-koma shorts included between chapters and at the end of the manga. A nice touch that I love was added was how the series' signature "OBJECTION!" bubbles are featured in every chapter, with "HOLD IT!" and "TAKE THAT!" making several appearances as well.
Overall Rating: 8/10
Overall, this collection of doujinshi is really nice and a must have for any Ace Attorney fan, as long as you've played the first 3 games (to avoid being spoiled). Put these facts together with enough "you had to play it to understand it" jokes for a lifetime and nice chapter plots and art throughout, and you've basically got one manga worth reading.

"DON'T MESS WITH ME!!"
that is one of the things I remember when I hear Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu 2.
After completing Haruhi season 1 I continued on to season 2,which welcomed me with a great new op/ed,the same great animation, and all my favourite characters(save Asakura). The first episode "bamboo leaf rhapsody"left me,again, wanting to quickly advance to the next episode, which I was well aware of as the infamous endless 8.
Now I know that many many anime fans saw endless eight and went on the spaz train, but I see endless 8 diferently. In the original light novels(I think it was the Rashness)Endless 8 was there.Fans read it.In this season of
...
haruhi,KyoAni decided to re-create those chapters,re-drawing,re-recording and re-airing basically the same episode 8 times. The haruhi team must have put a lot of effort into those 8 episodes, and I respect them all for it.
The remaining 5 episodes re-tell The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya LN,which I have read-and adored.I must say I really enjoyed watching something I've already experienced on paper, and I liked how true they were to the original LN-especially Tsuruya's amazing moments.
Overall I enjoyed this season as much as I did the last, especially Itsuki in a speedo! But I would only recommend this season to Haruhi fans only, basically because of the fact that endless 8 is just something that gets almost everyone annoyed.

Kamichama Karin does one thing perfectly-Making you read it again and again even though you know the story isn't that great.
The story revolves around a young girl named Karin Hanazono. In the beginning she is a girl who is no good at sports or school, lives with her mean auntie, and has really no talents except for self pity. Both her parents died and her cat Shi-chan just passed away. Then she meets a handsome boy while visiting her cat at her grave. His words to her are:"what are you doing stupid?Stop crying. You'll catch a cold if you stay out her stupid girl.Girls are so stupid..."What does little miss
...
Karin do? *punches boy repeatedly"
Then she meets a lovely young lady named Himeka Kojou. She hangs around with her, gets her make-up done by Himeka, and then a handsome young boy comes by. Himeka states that this boy is Kazune Kojou-her cousin- and the very same boy that called her stupid a while back. Later,Karin finds out that the ring on her hand that her dead mother gave her as a present, can make her transform into a....GODDESS!
And our story begins.
The thing with Kamichama Karin is that it is extremely confusing and not very well planned. Koge-Donbo* has a bunch of ideas there in the story-but none of the questions get answered. Some in CHU (the second series of kamikarin)but other than that none others. Also,it could be very serious and then come to a seriously un serious note, such as a joke or guy-guy kiss that gets all the girls startled.
The art is perfection-much to expect from Koge-donbo*'s brilliant artwork.and the characters are nicely laid out too. Sometimes they also are not what they seem AT ALL. And you'll be saying WTF about every five minutes with this one.The enjoyment is...well i enjoyed this one a lot, being one of the first manga i ever read.Who couldn't resist?A little girl who turns into a goddess, saying I AM GOD!!! every time she transforms,yaoi-ness once in a while, comedy, romance, even genderbending.Kamichama karin has something for everyone.

Bakugan: New Vestroia is extremely disappointing.
I ended Bakugan hoping for a decent second season that i would enjoy, but sadly, I was wrong.
The story is actually not that bad. A new bad guy is here along with a handful of other people from the new Vestroia and out of all of them only a few go to Dan's side. Masquerade aka Alice is no where to be seen, but they don't talk about her often anyway. And they all have new bakugan excluding Dan. Which is confusing since Drago is the new core. Oh and when I say "they all" I mean Dan,
...
Marucho, and Shun. Thats right, the girls are left out of all the excitement, which bothers me. The original bakugan anime was fair, having three girls and three boys on the team to save the world from utter destruction. But now their literally just girls who sit on the sidelines and cry for our mighty Dan to win. It's so pathetic. Runo's bakugan; Tigrerra, is stepped on by the new bad guy and Tigrerra dies. And Runo doesn't know it. Julie want's to help the new battle brawlers and she almost succeeds, but she doesn't have a certain item so she can't and is left out. I'm a big fan of Julie so this really bothers me.
The sound, art, and characters are basically the same, but the enjoyment Ii had watching this was very low: a 1. And for all the right reasons.
Please, if you like bakugan, don't waste your time watching this trash. Please.

~I have read volume 1 and volume two at the point of writing this~
If you really want to experience The Haruhi Suzumiya Phenomenon then this [the light novels that started it all] Is a defiant must.
Kyon is a normal High School Student. He comes to his first day of high school to experience a normal high school experience. But when his turn to introduce himself is finished, and the teacher goes on to the next one,Kyon-and the rest of the class, are speechless.
"If there are any aliens, time travelers,or espers here, come join me.That is all"
wouldn't you be speechless too?
The anime adaption of these novels only takes some of the
...
story, and even when the huge parts are there, that doesn't mean your getting all of it. For example,Tsuruya-San.She isn't introduced until The Sigh, and doesn't play a huge role, but she is still a character in the story and has a role.I am a fan of her,but am dissapointed at the fact she's been pushed aside in the anime. Some of the chapters where she shines aren't even in the anime, and that makes me angry.
The art,of course,I love.Drawn be Itoh Noizi,Four colour inserts in every volume, and pretty black and white illustrations every now and then,it really makes my day.The characters are great, each is different and i feel like with any of them missing from the story,I wouldn't like it as much.I enjoy reading the two volumes i own (The Melancholy and The Sigh) over and over again, and every chapter is a ride.I'd recommend it to anyone, but this is the type of series that if you like it,you like it, and if you don't,you don't.

Bamboo Blade is one of those manga that you find on a random manga site, and decide to try it out. Then you come across it at your local bookstore and only bought it because you had the money to spare.
At least thats what happened to me.
Bamboo Blade is a manga that has a very slow pace.If you've watched the Bamboo Blade anime you probably notice this, since it is also very slow paced. The story is quite simple;Tojiro needs to win a kendo match, and get together five girls for this match,or risk giving a bashed up trophy to his sensei.I gave the story a seven since it's a
...
very normal and plain story plan.Nonetheless it's still entertaining.
The art is good, but i certainly wouldn't call it a masterpiece. The art is just, well,a little lacking for me.I find, though, that the art is beginning to stick to me,and man tama-chan is soo cute!
The characters are great. Why?Because they all fit together nicely, and have distinct personalities. the five girls on the team for example:Tama-Chan;the quiet, underdeveloped, and not to mention unbelievable kendo skilled girl,Kirino: the bright, funny, sarcastic girl that seems to illuminate whatever room shes in,Miya-Miya:Dan-kuns gorgeous girlfriend with a split personality and a sadistic love for whacking people when he's not around (she's my personal favourite),Saya:she always quits in the middle of doing things and looks too tall to be a girl, and finely Satori:a naive strong kendo playing girl who is always concentrating on her studies and was tricked by Miya-Miya to join the club thinking kendo would improve her studies. Hows that cast for you?
The enjoyment is a ten because I find that a lighthearted story with a nice crop of characters fights and laughs,is an enjoyment in it's own,and i highly recommend it to anyone who likes corny jokes,all-out kendo battles, and gorgeous sadistic girls.

NOTE: let me just say that i watched the Dub on YTV first, then i started with the subbed version since i was tired of waiting for the new episodes on YTV.
Ok.Pretty cure. How did i start watching it? Oh thats right.Because of the lack of anime on Bionix,YTV put pretty cure on.
The story is your typical Magical Girl anime. Save the world with frilly outfits, abnormal powers, and beat up bad guys. But there is one aspect of pretty cure that sets itself apart from every other magical girl anime out there. The fighting. the fighting is much more shonen (like punches, kicks, throws) yes there is a huge amount
...
of rainbows and light and sparkles, but Cure Black and Cure White can only use it when their together, unlike anime like Sailor moon, when each girl can use their power wherever, whenever. Also, another huge aspect in pretty cure is the fact that no boys come to the aid of the superheronies, nor do they really need it. In most magical girl anime, there is a boy doing the whole puch-out! aspect, while the girls use a magical spell or wand type thing to help out the guy. Pretty Cure do it all on there own.they destroyed a huge minion of the dark side by using a really cool attack called "pretty cure marble screw!" No boys allowed to interfere. the Art is so-so,but none the less pretty. The sound is average(in the sub) but if you seriously want to try this out,DO NOT WATCH THE DUB.IT SUCKS!! The voices and script are totally mixed up,and the opening is trash.just don't.please.the characters are also quite average, but Nagisa and Honoka cannot be one without the other.
Overall I very much enjoyed this anime, untill the second half, when the whole Pretty Cure thing got boring and i dropped watchnig it. If your looking for a fresh, new twist on magical girl genre, watch pretty cure,or even shugo chara!

First, let me point out that I love Metroid games, so of course I had to try this manga.
Learning about Samus Arans' past is quite entertaining, as I got to see her grow up. There is the Chozo, Mother Brain, Ridley, and many people that I've never even seen in the games (because they aren't really needed in the games)
The art is plain, boring, and simple. I wish that the author would have taken more time into the art, because it was kinda hard to get past it at first.
Overall I am enjoying this manga, as many metroid fans would. If you're not a metroid
...
fan...well you might just look at the art and the alien bird things and go "Wow. Creepy. Time to pick up some Bleach"
