Story: 8

By the first chapter the MC is looking pretty good as character design and "development" so far. He starts like shaky ass dude 'til he becomes freaking Billy the kid with his gun and Kratos with his AXE! (maybe I overexaggerated a bit). Anyway, the story is looking surprisingly interesting and if it keeps getting the same treatment like this ... first chapter then we might be in front of one the hugest adventures in WSJ.

The environment the story takes place in feels refreshing since we are used to locations like schools, cities, kingdoms and so on. This time it takes most of it's action in the forest which I think is cool.

Characters: 9

Like I named before, I think the characters designs are DOPE! I didn't know you could make such cool designs with "Hunting" as the main theme. The author seems to understand what kind of outfits match with the nature aesthetic as well as it gives the reader a very pleasant sense of adventure. The MC is pretty good so far, but I expect some kind of development in order to polish his skills as a hunter (which I think he has) due he has shown to be more logical and tactical than just going berserk.

Just read it bro, it's good. 9/10

IF YOU ARE GOING TO TRY THIS MANGA, READ THIS FIRST !

This is not a review at all, it's more like a motivational speech of why you shouldn't drop this manga just by reading the first chapter.

Story: 8

The first time I read it, I was like "oh cool, another shonen taking place in the past", but it's not. The story moves slow forward, but worth it! (imo) by the time I'm making this review the series has shown that it has great potential, but judging by the pacing, it might take a bit long to get to it's climax. The story is not bad ... at all, but I wish there was a bit more of action, because most part of it is strategy (which I think it's cool!), but I feel that the pacing could improve just a little.

Characters: 7 (~8)

The main character is quite young compared to most of the shonen protagonists that are currently publishing in WSJ. The MC has plenty of room for development and so far I think it's a pretty good protagonist, but I expect improvement in the future. Side-characters in this show has some screen time, but didn't make feel any interest for them. They do fit perfectly in the roll of supporting characters, but that's it (I wish we get to know something interesting about them in the future). On the other hand, the antagonists are very funny to keep up with along the history due to its designs and dialogues. (Great Job Matsui-sensei!)

Art: 8

For being weekly, it has really good art, but since is Assasination Classrom's author we are talking about, I can already see even better panels made by him in a not so long distance.

In conclusion, give this manga a try and you probably will find it very entertaining as well as interesting. If you liked what you read give this "review" a like... because likes makes this brain go brrr.

I'll go straight to the point:

"So there is this manga where the protagonist is John Wick, but Japanized as heck that lives his normal life until he meets again with his ex-pupil that happens to be an esper and read minds... READ MINDS BRUV! Then everything makes a 180* turn and now they fight criminals and mafia bosses that want to to erase the main character due he is too OP"

As I said before, is like John Wick, BUT BETTER! This manga truly deserves more attention because is not afraid to show violent scenes when necessary. I dont want to tell too much about ... the plot because the less you know, the better. This manga will surprise you since the first chapter!

Art: 10/10

Bro, for being weekly, I think the art is Top Tier (In my opinion) The fight scenes are easy to follow as well as the choreography. You can see the passion and hard work in each panel.

Character: 10/10

I'm not lying when I say that every character makes me want to know their past (but I hope that will show up eventually) Anyway, the side characters have amazing designs and not only that. They also have very cool personalities that doesn't feel forced and their own reasons to do what they do.

Overall: 9/10

I love everything so far about Sakamoto Days, but the reason I don't give it a 10/10 is because I feel that they need to show a bit more of "darkness" when the murder-topic is shown in the panels. I feel like there is not enough "Impact" (Besides the 1st chapter). I know it's weekly shonen jump, but I'd like to see that in the future.

I wouldn't be surprised if the anime gets announced at the end of 2021 or beginning of 2022.
