*Okay so this is my first review, one of my main reason of joining this site was to make a review on this spectacular show so I'll try to do it right! :D

Wow, how would you describe genshiken? I discovered the manga around a year or so ago and ditched it because I wasn't exactly into SOL's at the time. But a few months ago I was given Quite a few anime DVDs and 2 seasons of genshiken where so I decided to take another crack at the show.

So basically, genshiken is a show about a group of university otaku and there everyday lives.
Genshiken ... is a show that's really built on charecter devolpment, Although not much takes place in this season lots of it happens in the next.

After the first 3 eps or so I was hooked onto the show, I really loved how all of the charecter represented differnt types of otaku (cosplaying, gaming, garage kit building). And each episode explored into the lives of each individual.

But damn episode 9 is what made me love the show, I'll try very hard no to spoil anything but, that was probably the funniest moment on any anime IMO. It really made me get into genshiken and also made me enjoy Saki's and Madrame's charecter a lot more.

The thing that really separates genshiken from any other anime about an otaku club is Saki. In brief, Saki is the 'girl next door' charecter who ends up falling for the extremely hard core otaku Kousaka, Saki is the polar opisite of otaku and fell for Kousaka entirely for his looks, and with that Saki tries many times to change Kousaka out of his otaku ways but fails every time. to many genshiken fans Saki was a very conterversial charecter and many believe that the show would have been a lot better if saki was an otaku girl. Honestly, I think this is entirely untrue, if Saki was an otaku girl then I believe that the should was have been burning and not as interesting.

So to anyone who is thinking of watching genshiken I would definantly recommend it,It has a funny, witty storyline and the personalities of the charecter will defiantly draw you in to this fantastic series!
