I feel like Aikatsu! and PriPara are about as similar as 2 shows can be without being directly related. They're both idol shows for kids, and neither are grounded in reality. Aikatsu has its special stage, Special Appeals, turning clothes into cards, and etc.; PriPara's idol world is practically a completely seperate dimension. Aikatsu's Special Appeals are also very similar with PriPara's Making Dramas. Other similarities: - Long-running - Immensely popular in Japan, but hardly known outside of it - Ichigo and Lala, the protagonists of each show, share similar bubbly, optimistic personalities - Both protagonists started out as newbie idols but very well from the get-go - The close friend characters to the protag, Aoi and Mireille, are quite similar - The songs are catchy, memorable, and have flavor; occasionally breaking away from the traditional idol mold, separating them from shows like Love Live! or Idolm@ster - Large cast of characters that all end up being important in some way, never a one-time appearence Both series are fun and very enjoyable to watch. Overall, though, I do feel like PriPara is objectively better-- it's less formulaic, better written, and it progressively gets better and better. Plus, the humor in PriPara is absolute comedy gold. I love both shows, and I think that like if you like one, you're almost guaranteed to like the other.

Charlotte

I found Charlotte and Angel Beats! to be extremely similar. They're both original works by Jun Maeda, and are both by the studio PA Works, so it's no wonder why they turned out like that. Everything except the premises, the basic plot lines, of these two shows are practically identical. Art, animation, characters, comedy, pacing, aesthetic, music, supernatural elements... going back to the characters, I'm pretty sure Charlotte's cast is basically a bunch of carbon copies of Angel Beats! characters minus a few people. Now, personally I hated both of these shows, so if you dislike one, you more than likely are going to dislike the other as well. But if you like one, then you'll probably like the other as well. Probably. Although I'd say Charlotte's giant gaping plot holes and inconsistencies are less noticeable than Angel Beats!'s. Throughout my time watching Angel Beats!, I could not stop comparing it to Charlotte. They're too alike!

Shiki

Both are dark horror anime set in a rural village cut off from the outside world. They both feature the male lead (or in Shiki's case, one of the male leads) moving to the village from the city, and a chain of mysterious deaths starts happening. They both have interesting mysteries and strikingly similar settings, not to mention they both contain quite the gorey scenes.

Battle Girl High School

Ange Vierge and Battle Girl High School are very similar series. Battle Girl High School is essentially just Ange Vierge but minus the ecchi. One reason they're so similar is because they're from the same studio, Silver Link. If you like one you'll probably like the other as well.

Demi-chan wa Kataritai

Demi-chan wa Kataritai, or Interviews with Monster Girls, is basically an innocent version of Monster Musume; and Monster Musume is a more lewd verion of Interviews with Monster Girls. Both series' concepts focus on how demi-humans, or monster girls, live in a world that they don't quite fit into. Both series show how the different demi-humans go about their daily lives and overcome the struggle of being different. The biggest difference between the series is that one is ecchi (Monster Musume) and the other is just a fun slice of life (Demi-chan wa Kataritai), but if you like the idea of monster girls and seeing how they live, then these anime are quite similar in that way.

- They both have monster girls trying to fit into society and live among humans- although in Dragon Maid, the girls are dragons rather than complete monsters - Both series are absolutely adorable and lighthearted - Both touch on the subject of humans discriminating against those different than them (the different ones being the monster/dragon girls) - Scarce fanservice, but it's still there - So. Freaking. Adorable. They have a lot of similarities and have a similar feel, so if you liked Demi-chan, you're sure to like Dragon Maid as well- and vice versa.
