Both series revolve around academies specialised in promoting interspecies coexistence, both with human male protagonists (one an ordinary "doofus" who accepts being in a school with mythical monsters and the other an edgy tsundere who claims to hate beasts) surrounded with a group of cute mythical & anthropomorphic girls. Great comedies each with their own set variation of characters, definitely something to watch to relax after an eventful day if these types of shows interest you.

Both series have similar settings and motives to the plots that follow towards the series. As the series is produced along with the same soundtrack composer Hiroyuki Sawano, which explains the god-like music. The OP/ED is done by EGOIST Chelly and AIMER, who Chelly has done the OP/ED of Guilty Crown. Back to the plot, it follows similar scenarios of humanity facing the problem of their existence in the brink of extinction, as Guilty Crown (A rapid crystal like cancer virus) and Koutetsujou no Kabaneri (A deadly rapid contagious virus that reanimates a human victim to a cannibal zombie like creatures known as "Kabane"). The protagonist are denied yet are the ultimate cures to humanity's extinction. Yet there are several diffrences such as time era (Guilty Crown being at 2020-2040) (Koutetsujou no Kabaneri being around the height of the Industrial Revolution 1800's towards the end of 1920).
