Bakemonogatari, like all anime from the Monogatari series, I could basically describe briefly as audiobooks on steroids. Sure, not everyone may like the form in which Shaft creates animation, but this unusual style combined with a great soundtrack creates an amazing atmosphere. And the mood in this series is very important. Although the story may seem simple at first, it is full of various references to myths, legends, and folklore, but also there's a hidden meaning to discover. pure gold. At times amusing, at times sad, at other times touching, but almost always full of linguistic traps and ambiguities. So, words, words, and more words. Someone once said that a picture is worth more than a thousand words, but in relation to Monogatari series, you can't be any more wrong. Whoever gives this series a chance will not regret it, not only will experience a great story, but will also start to look at Japanese language in a completely different way. Just like I mentioned at the beginning, before you start watching better read the books, otherwise keep your finger on the stop button to catch all the pop-up textwalls (they're fast). Otherwise, you may not understand the story.
