Apocalypse no Toride is what "Highschool of The Dead" was supposed to be. It's scary, intense, bloody, and gruesome.
Story: 3
The story is a bit bland. The main character gets sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit and gets stuck with assholes, murderers, delinquents, and psychopaths. Then- zombies attack. That pretty much sums up the whole plot. Zombies attack and the four main characters have to survive. Yep.
Art: 9
The art is glorious, the monsters are hideous, and no fan service in this manga. You don't see monster boobs flying everywhere all over the page. No, the art actually makes you
...
focus on the zombies, not the boobs.
Characters: 6
The four main characters have simple personalities. There is the weak ass pussy main character, there is the strong badass, a half-sadistic but not completely sadistic guy, and the smart guy of the group. Then all the rest are douches. This story really has no character development and that's a shame considering a zombie apocalypse is a life-changing experience. Oh yeah, and all the zombies in this manga are fucking OP as shit. They can block, dodge, and shit- they're hella fucking strong.
Oh yeah, and when I said there's no monster boobs everywhere, there's actually like, no boobs at all. All the characters are male. I hope none of them become gay and start raping each other in the prison during the zombie apocalypse.
Enjoyment: 8
This manga feels empty but it's still fun. I like seeing brains, lower-jaws, eyeballs, limbs, heads, and torsos flying everywhere. I like seeing people act like douches and tough nuts then scream in complete fear, hopelessness, and misery when the zombies eat the fuck out of them. I'm still a bit dissapointed in the fact that many of the characters got guns because that's fucking stupid- in a real zombie apocalypse, majority of people ain't gonna have a whole fucking chamber of guns, but whatever. I prefer to see them be resourceful and use whatever is around them but meh, screw it. Zombies don't even exist.
Overall: 8
Fun to read, but you have to turn off your mind first. This mangas full of "fuck you, we gon' do whatevz the fuck we wanna do, we ain't gon' even care about logic or plot or character development. Fuck me, fuck you, fuck everything".
tl;dr- HOTD without BOOBS. Viewer downvotes and doesn't read manga, lol.

"Zetsuen no Tempest" has currently been a fun ride- it's mysterious, engaging, and unique.
The first half of the story is focused mainly on four characters: Yoshino, Mahiro, Hakaze, and Samon. The story is set up in a way so the audience can't identify the main plot for the first several episodes. But the way this is done is perfect- it helps keep the viewer curious.
[Story]
The two main characters, Yoshino and Mahiro, try to help the Princess of the Kusaribe clan, Hakaze, escape an island to which she was exiled to. Through objects called "talismans" they are able to communicate with Hakaze with the
...
power of magic. A member of the Kusaribe clan named "Samon" quickly finds out about their intentions to free Hakaze from the island and sends out his familiars to stop Yoshino and Mahiro. Samon sent Hakaze to the empty island due to a family disagreement about the revival of a omnipresent and omniscient entity, known as the "Tree of Exodus"- which can possibly and ultimately bring the downfall to humanity.
Mahiro's deal for helping Hakaze is that Hakaze will identify the killer of Mahiro's deceased sister- Aika, so Mahiro can exact revenge. Mahiro's best friend, Yoshino, agrees to help him on his journey. But when Samon's lackeys fail to stop the duo, Samon approaches Mahiro and Yoshino himself and persuades them to leave the site of the revival of the tree. Here's where several problems occur with the first half of the story...
-The story drags on a bit too long here. Many flashback scenes about Aika, Yoshino and Mahiro, could have all been condensed into an episode or two.
-Yoshino, Mahiro, and Samon discuss and argue for several episodes straight until the midway point of the anime. The first several episodes bring out fast-paced chases, fights, etc. But all of a sudden at some point there's a huge halt and from there the series begins to progress slowly.
-While some scenes were necessary, others were not.
However, the second half of the story is terrific, a new character is introduced, and past characters are being more involved in the plot. Enemies have become allies and the plot begins to pick up fast from here (there's even some romance). A lot of twists, reveals, and character development begin in the second half and it's great. The second half still focuses on one main thing- the reveal of Aika's killer- but it also begins to focus on the big picture.
[Art and Sound]
I'll keep this part short and simple- the art is fantastic, all the characters are drawn well and the animating is perfect. Every character is eye-candy to one or another. The climatic effects are amazing and overall, there's nothing wrong here.
The opening/endings are decent but nothing glorious. The sound effects are nice and Mahiro's voice actor portrays his character very well.
[Character]
Yoshino is a rather bland character- although there is some character reveal about him later on in the series, he maintains a constant personality. He's a good guy, intelligent, and is kind but a bit boring for a main character.
Mahiro, on the other hand, is brash, and also somewhat intelligent. Just like in Hamlet, Mahiro doesn't care what happens to the world as long as he gets his revenge. While his intentions are mostly straightforward, he's one of the more interesting characters in the show. He isn't complex, but he's usually calculating solutions and possibilities in his mind while Yoshino is also conjuring interesting thoughts, ideas, and some lies on his own.
Hakaze is smart, calculating, and confident. Eventually she develops a crush on Yoshino and although that's a bit unfortunate for her character, something like this has to happen in every anime. Samon is seen mostly as the antagonist for the first half, but is later revealed to be more of an antihero. He uses dirty tricks to do what he thinks must be done. Aika, is a character shrouded in mystery and is mostly seen through flashbacks. Although she remains a key point to the plot, her character still seems a bit insignificant in regards to the story- well, it seems so until you reach the start of the climax.
[Enjoyment]
If you're looking for an action-packed anime, you're not going to find it here. The romance aspect is important in regards to several characters personalities, intentions, etc, but it is not the main focus of the show. But if you're into mystery animes, then this is for you. And like I said before, "Zetsuen no Tempest has currently been a fun ride- it's mysterious, engaging, and unique."
The show IS mysterious.
It IS engaging once you get into the plot.
And it IS definitely unique in a lot of aspects.
Overall- 8.

Before watching this anime, I had my doubts. But in the first ten minutes, I was hooked. Why? Because of the humor.
Ixion Saga DT doesn't really have much of a plot going (yet) but from what I've seen, it seems like an episodic anime to me.
For those of you who do not like episodic animes, then don't watch, but for those of you who like Sket Dance and Gintama, then I recommend. This show is funny, likable, and overall you'll be very pleased with it.
I feel a plot brewing, so don't worry- this anime has a direction!
I can't give a completely accurate
...
review of this anime since only the first several episodes have been released, but I can tell that I'll enjoy this anime in the long run.
The art is good, and all the characters look unique and none of them are an eyesore to look at. There isn't a huge character cast yet, but most of them are likable, so no worries there.
I very much enjoy the characters voices, and those of you who are fans of Gintama, look out for two familiar voice actors!
The OP and ED are both great, and this just seems like this show has a lot of potential if it gets far.
I enjoy this anime and I am excited for the shows progression! I honestly don't have any negative points about the series at the moment, and I hope it stays that way.
My overall enjoyment of the show is an 8.

Watch Beelzebub- action and hilarity ensues!
(Point Review)
-This show is unique and funny, you'll love it no matter what type of anime fan you are.
-The characters are all entertaining to watch and listen to.
-The story is entertaining; a crazy strong delinquent (Oga Tatsumi) enters High School(Ishiyama High) and takes out some of the stronger delinquents there without even trying. Instantly, he is feared by the higehr-ups.
-While trying to live a normal life (or the life as a delinquent) he ends up having to take care of a demon baby (Beelzebub) who will one day grow up to destroy the human race. He
...
really has no drive or purpose for taking care of Beelzebub, he just does it. (Well of course he's trying to dump the baby on somebody else.)
-He has a perverted, useless, but funny best friend named Furuichi.
-A beautiful demon maid named Hilda lives with Oga who is perceived as Oga's wife although she is really just looking after Baby Beelzebub. (How shocking it must have been when his parents discovered this!)
-While Oga is fighting groups of thugs and delinquents such as the TKKH, the MK5, and the Six Holy Knights, a larger storm is brewing in the background (more demons arriving in the human world, etc) leading to a sudden explosion in plot development and more.
-You'll like the show from Episode 1!
-A member of the TKKH (TKKH: Strongest in Ishiyama High) named Aoi Kunieda develops a crush on Oga and she becomes envious when she sees Hilda living with Oga; very funny misunderstandings.
-A bulky man named Alaindelon moves into Furuichi's home and develops a bro-crush on Furuichi. Furuichi see's himself as a lady's man, so he's very sad that a beautiful demon maid doesn't live with him, unlike Oga. Very funny!
-A delinquent named Kanzaki (same voice actor as Gintoki) will eventually just naturally become a favorite character for you.
-Himekawa is always made fun of for his dumb hairstyle, when he thinks its stylish!
-Overall, you'll enjoy this show. Trust me, you'll love it!

Arcana Famiglia had an interesting premise but every passing episode, the show began to get duller and duller. I hope the show will get better soon, and I know it will, but here are my current thoughts on Arcana Famiglia.
Story: About a royal family that holds a fight tournament where the winner will get to marry the beautiful Felicita'. That was how it began. But every episode, it feels like the show is walking away from its original plot. They're having side episodes or fillers that don't seem very important to the show.
They keep having separate episodes for different characters so you can get
...
to know their background story better, but I feel that a better approach to do that, is to just launch off the main plot already and then have the character background stories be revealed during mid-combat.
Art: I really love the art, it's quite beautiful. But what I dislike is when the three main characters always seem to get in a skirmish or battle with some pirates, bandits, etc, but they always walk away unscathed. In fact, they don't even need their weapons. They pull their deadly looking weapons out but they always end up using the blunt end of the weapon or end up just kicking away the opponent. I think they would fight better just hand to hand combat, sheesh. Not once, have I seen them using their weapons to actually slash or kill. I have never seen a single drop of blood in the series yet, and for an anime that's supposedly going to be action-y later, that upsets me. No blood means no intense action. Its like the shows creators are so impressed with their art style that they don't want to stain it with blood...
Sound: The opening and ending isn't too much of a headache to listen to, and the voice actors match the characters nicely. Except whenever I listen to Debito's voice I always think of Bossun from "Sket Dance". One problem though I have is that it's just painful for me to listen to Japanese voice actors trying to pronounce Italian names...
Characters: The characters all look different, and that's good. But the problem is, some of the characters seem too bland. The only characters that aren't always serious 24/7 is Liberta, Debito, and Pace. Besides that everyone else seems so boring. Another problem with the main character, Felicita, is that her character is hard to become infatuated with. She says "eh?" way too much and its annoying. She's pretty and her personality is also pretty, but still, she fails to be an entertaining character.
One cool thing about the characters though is that they all have special powers that only they can use and those powers are called "Arcana" abilities. But a problem I have with some of these Arcana abilities is that some of them seem way overpowered and in a battle with one another, it really falls down on which Arcana power is stronger. And its not like they earned those abilities, they just have it. That's it. They just have it. For example, one character has the Arcana power of super strength, cool right? But another has the power of "death". So basically if he just wants somebody to die, then they're dead. That's it. They're just dead. To me, it seems this whole Arcana system is really unfair and unbalanced and needs better backing.
Enjoyment: My overall enjoyment of the show is a 7. Despite everything I previously said, the show isn't that bad, but its definitely not anything special. It's not something you'll love or remember, but at least its not something you'll remember just because you hated it. Watch it, you won't be overly impressed but its something you can watch every week while you're waiting for the next Naruto episode or the next Sword Art Online.
Overall: Overall, the show gets a 8 because the art style is amazing.

This is my review for both seasons- Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon II is probably one of the most unbalanced, whacky, unorthodox, and weirdest anime this year. Here are the reasons why:
The story doesn't make any coherent sense whatsoever. I really hoped that Season 2 would improve from Season 1 but it did not. If anything, it might have gotten even worse. I enjoyed the very first episode of Horizon and I thought this was going to be the next big hit this year, but after Episode 1 it just started dropping in quality. I swear, the people that write the scripts are on crack.
[Minor
...
Spoiler:]Seriously, how can you ask someone if you can be King and they just give that title to you for no good reason? The story is hard to follow, and it'll just put strain on you if you even try to comprehend what the hell is happening.
[Minor Spoiler:]Seriously, how does going on a date have anything to do with a war? In Season 2, everyone is fighting in a life or death battle just so one perverted and idiot King, can go on a date with a lifeless drone with no emotions.
The action sucks too. It's just so ridiculous that I cannot describe in words how much the action barely makes any sense in several battles. Its just... indescribable.
There is almost little to no thrill at all when watching this show. You will never be at the edge of your seat in any battle. Ever. Maybe you'll go like "Ah, he got hit. Whatever. Do I really care?"
The characters are unique though, but some of them just make you go 'what the heck is this?' Seriously, some characters look like they belong from Alice in Wonderland. Some characters look way too out of place and they look like they got lost or they should just return to whatever freaking planet they came from.
A problem with some of the characters are that too many of them look alike, have gargantuan hair, and so many of them have big breasts that its just downright horrendous. If you're going to have a character who is pretty good eye candy, then the show should just have one or two of those characters but they slam-dunked a ridiculous amount of overly big-breasted girls.
Another problem is the Main character. He is unlikable in every way. He's retarded, useless, and annoying. In fact, his voice gets so annoying that you feel like strangling the voice actor.
And I have never taken a liking to the main heroine, Horizon. And in a show where there's tons of other big breasted girls, that's pretty bad. The main heroine is boring to watch and boring to listen to.
All the characters belong in the Musashi Ariadust Academy school. And right off the bat, they all have a lot of special talents or fighting capabilities and skills. My question is, if you already have what you wanted to acquire, why bother going to school? To me, it felt like the whole entire school program was a waste of time. I felt as if the characters learned nothing from the school. And after 3 or 4 weeks, they graduate from the school and go straight into war. How stupid does that sound...? Again, poor story mixed with poor characters= poor everything.
The only thing that is good about the series is the art and sound. The sound is crystal clear and the art is probably the best this year. So thus, the show comes up from a 3 rating to a 4. Congrats, Horizon.
And here is the last thing that many of you may dread to hear:
The ecchi does not make the show any better. I'm serious. I have finished many animes that were pathetic just because of the ecchi in it. But this show is so horrendous that even the many ecchi scenes does not save the show. Does that sound weird to you? Big-breasted girls and ecchi should equal a pretty good time right? No. This show still sucks. The girls and ecchi doesn't compensate for the rest of the crap this show has in it.
The only good part of the ecchi is that they are ice-breakers for many confusing situations. It'll make everyone go,
"Ah! I understand that! A guy touching a girls boobs should be easy for me to understand!"
Then when that ecchi scene ends, it goes right back into confusing BS supported with a poor story.
Still not convinced that this anime sucks? Well-
They spend one whole episode doing speech and debate. Yes. I'm serious.
I enjoy washing dishes as much as I enjoy watching this show. And I don't enjoy washing dishes. Trust me. And therefore, I don't enjoy this abomination of an anime. My overall rating of the show is a 4. The show was saved by excellent art but was mostly destroyed due to bad character structure and poor story plotting.
The only reason why I'm still watching the anime is because I always finish what I start. But, heed my warning- this anime defines "ugly".

Eureka Seven was one of my most favorite mecha-animes of all time, but I was very disappointed in Astral Ocean. Here are the reasons why,
Eureka Seven AO focuses too much on the action. In the previous series, there was drama and love. I know most of you will think to yourself "mecha animes aren't suppose to have any drama or love, just action" but the drama in Eureka Seven was what made the series. It made you love the two main characters, Renton and Eureka. But in Astral Ocean, you don't have the same connection with Ao.
The story of the show is still strong, it's
...
very mysterious. There are new entities called Secrets attacking the unnatural beings known as Scub Corals. There is a man named "Truth" who is trying to reveal the truth to the world (sorry if that sounded repetitive) and he is the shows main antagonist. There is Naru who was Ao's best friend who decided to go total whack on Ao one day and follow the main bad guy. And there is the mystery behind of "what happened to Eureka and Renton?"
The art is still beautiful like the original show, I love the action scenes and the mecha drawings, it's pure epic. The sound is crystal clear, the openings and endings are amazing, (OP 2- Very Nostalgic to Eureka Sevens original opening), and overall I give the animation and sound effects a ten.
Here is where I get a bit pissy. The characters seem very bland compared to the characters in the original series. Renton from the original series was a crybaby, he was a crybaby but we got to know his character so well that we felt like we actually knew him. He was very true to himself, and he loved Eureka dearly. He cared for others and put his life on the line at certain times. The rest of the crew- members in the Gekkostate (Gekkostate is their flying ship) all had their own unique looks and traits that made us love them. Holland (the captain) was a bit of a jerk but nonetheless I loved him as a character of the show.
But the characters in Astral Ocean is a different story. Eureka Seven had humor and the characters were fun to watch and listen to. But in Astral Ocean, many of the characters seem way too serious and it feels like you can grab several characters and just meld them into one person- that's how boring they are. A lot of characters feel the same to me and I just don't connect with them.
Even Holland (from the Original series) was such an ass to Renton that I actually hated Holland. To actually hate someone that doesn't even exist, means that they're a good and true character.
Here's how bad the characters are in Astral Ocean- I won't be sad if Ao dies. I'm serious. He's the main character but he's so boring like the rest, that I don't feel like I'll be very sad if he died. However, if Renton died, I would be extremely sad and I'll hate the show for killing him, (thank God he didn't die) but if Ao dies, I'll just say "meh the show could still possibly go on without him" (and a lot other characters besides).
The only reason I'm still putting up with this show is because I can't wait to see Renton and Eureka reunite. But Ao? Whatever. He can do whatever he wants to, because he's as boring as the shows pet.
My enjoyment of the show would be around a 6 when my overall enjoyment from the predecessor would be a 9.
Overall the show gets a 7 because the art and action saves it from dropping below a 5.
Watch Eureka Seven then watch Astral Ocean. You'll see a depressing drop and you'll wonder, what in the hell happened?

Sket Dance is a comedic/slice of life/dramatic anime that will leave some of you in tears, laughing. Notice how I didn't address the whole group? Reason being, is that the anime tends to make a lot of jokes and references that the average foreign viewer will fail to understand at times. The show also tends to break the fourth wall every so often which in my opinion, isn't very funny. But some good points is that the show has some serious and dramatic arcs which are enjoyable to watch and some episodes that will leave you laughing despite if you're unfamiliar to Japanese culture.
However,
...
there isn't really a running story behind Sket Dance. A three man school club group called the "Sket Dan" includes Bossun, Himeko, and Switch. They have suffered from their past and because of it they want to help out people in need. But sometimes you might find yourself wondering where the story is going and if there is going to be a climatic ending at all. In some ways, it falls flat compared to the Gintama anime (very similar anime but with action) because a lot of their jokes usually don't try to go overboard in the silliness and inappropriateness.
The art is great and sometimes hilarious. Okay, all the time hilarious. The sound is clear, good music, and funny sound effects. The characters though, have to be the richest part of the show. There is a collection of over 20+ characters who all have a different look and hilarious personality to them. (Ex: The Creepy Occult Girl, The Genius but Lazy Science Teacher, The teacher who resembles Jason Voorhees, The Enigman and Quettion duo, The baseball captain with a huge appetite, The tsundere girl, The wannabe-samurai, and many more.)
Like most animes, the first episode may seem bland, but continue on watching and you'll quickly fall in love with the series. Overall, I give the show an 8.

Deadman Wonderland was a bit disappointing for me. Don't get me wrong, it's a actually a decent anime but this could have been adapted into something a lot greater. This had potential but the lack of a certain character and other aspects leave the show almost impossible to carry on. I read all 51 (I know theres more, although its on a hiatus) chapters of the manga and let me tell you, the manga is far better than the anime. The anime feels to rushed, especially at the end. If you're going to watch the anime before reading the manga then you'll most likely be
...
pleased with the series but if you read the manga first, like me, then you'll most likely be disappointed. Too many loose ends for the anime to end and too many mistakes for the anime to be continued. In Japan, the anime did not do too well compared to the manga so a second season is unlikely. The only way for the show to continue is if they somehow incorporate one important character in a random arc but that seems highly unlikely. And for fans of the anime, Genkaku is definitely not the main villain... Too me this seems like a short anime that's a teaser for the manga. This had possible potential to turn into a 25+ or even 50 ep anime but they squished about 21 chapters worth into 12 episodes.... The story had potential in the manga but is left at a huge cliff hanger in the anime, the art is very good in my opinion, the sound is good, the characters were all pretty interesting, the enjoyment for me was meh-so so, but might be more exciting for you if you haven't read the manga first. The overall quality of the show was about a 7.
