This was so good easily in my top 20 anime of all time that I have watched. The arcs didn't feel as defined but that is how real life exists. The character of Sato-kun was somewhat annoying but just a real dude and funny a lot of the time. My main issue was his inability to speak openly about his thoughts and issues. That seemed just to be a character flaw that Sato-kun had. Misaki-chan really carried Sato-kun and that's true supporting love, not that I will ever experience it. Yamazaki was the most relatable to me though and the ending of his relationship ... with Nanako felt very relatable. The self-destructive way that Yamazaki acts before leaving Tokyo struck a chord with me. This is a masterpiece.
