...then you might like Fruits Basket 2nd Season add

Fruits Basket's storyline/lore is far more elaborate and some would say grim, however certain characters in Inu x Boku feel and look eerily similar to FB's cast (this is also due to the use of tropes). Both are entertaining romantic stories with a strong mythical/supernatural element to them. Although Inu x Boku is much campier and feels much more like a satire with abundant fanservice while FB's humour is much more subtle. I absolutely loved both and enjoyed finding some parallels between the two.

Perhaps an unlikely recommendation but there are some prominent similarities: -lots of bishies; -Yaoi tropes; -humour that verges on sheer absurdity, cringe even; -highly enjoyable and addicting for a right viewer; -emotional; -has a gothic aspect/aesthetics; -main duo dynamics ar somewhat similar and some side characters are similar as well; -mansions and luxury. I absolutely love both but BB certainly has a higher production level and overall a more serious tone.

...then you might like Perfect Blue add

While the plotlines are completely different, the darkness and psychology of both of these anime are on the same league. The use of music in PB also reminded me strongly of NGE. PB, much like Evangelion, has a dystopian, surreal, a bit schizophrenic feel however the most prominent difference is that PB has no lighter aspects as in the the earlier half of NGE.

Both have a similar feeling and the use of subplots - it instantly made me think of how similar they are on a subliminal level. AB perhaps is more sentimental and straightforward, while FB has more of a mysterious feel as well as fantastic element to it. AB has more direct romance while in FB it is much more discreet. Main characters have an assortment of similar qualities in terms of dedication towards the people who surround them while also being rather clueless... Both have dark sub-themes while retaining overall happy, hopeful feel.
