Both feature female android main characters who's job it is to save humanity and the world in a conflict between humans and machines. Both take place in a future setting including far future, with incidents of hacking, cyberpunk themes, and battles. Both feature important personal growth for the main characters and deeper aspects to the story as they unfold and both are well produced. If you like one you may like the other.

Both feature beautiful female main characters who are soldiers (or in the case of Violet, former soldiers), who are involved in long violent wars, and who have to come to terms with the reality that their wars they fought or are fighting may have broader implications for themselves or the world they are in, than they first initially considered as ordinary soldiers, leading to personal revelations and growth. Both are also very well produced, and feature gorgeous animation and settings. Violet also has cybernetic hands of a sort and 2B is an android so they share some cyberpunk themes.

Both Nier:Automata and Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence feature many similar themes. They both are well-produced cyberpunk works, both feature action and battles, and cyber hacking as part of those battles, and both have themes of cyber-marionette kind of artistic themes that take place in beautiful post-apocalyptic settings. They also both have introspective story layers that give a sense of mystery and that there's more to the story that will unfold than what appears at first on the surface. Additionally, the art styles are similar. If you like one, you will probably like the other.

They both involve strong female characters with quiet presence, who continue onwards for the purpose of their mission, and evolve along the way, with elements of being a warrior. And both are masterpieces of anime. If you like one you should definitely check out the other.

Both stories revolve around a cybernetic being that involves deep introspection, character development, and scenes of combat. And both explore the theme of what happens when AI life has a soul of it's own? And they are both easily very good masterpiece-level anime. I definitely recommend both.

I honestly don't know why no one has recommended this yet. Rage of Bahamut is so similar to Escaflowne in so many ways. While not an Isekai like Escaflowne is, they both have a very similar world feel, especially in the epic music and grand battles. They just have such a similar feel, I have to believe Rage of Bahamut was inspired by Escaflowne. They are both really good too.

These both involve similar themes of a world where plants attack humans, and people with special powers connected to the plants, are used to fight them off. It also includes a main character dynamic between a girl and a warrior-type guy. There are many similarities, and I'm surprised no one has recommended this yet.

Very similar tone, with a young driven female lead, with lots of comedy, action and a very similar animation style. Kill La Kill is a little more over the top than Deca-Dence but they are very similar and Deca-Dence definitely brings to mind a Studio Trigger animation.

Very similar in tone, playfulness, and genuine light-hearted warmth with lots of action, and a good dose of comedy. Led by a female lead young girl with lots of drive and determination. You'd be forgiven for thinking Deca-Dence is a Studio Trigger animation because of how similar they are.

These both feature a medieval Asian setting where the main character is paired with a younger male character. They both feature a lot of demons and spirits, and medieval combat. Moribito focuses on a strong female main character who is a Spearwoman, and Dororo focuses on a strong male character who uses swords. But they are very similar in that they are "Strong characters of few words" who are extremely competent in battle. You will very likely like one if you like the other.

These anime are so similar in feel it's very likely indeed you'll like one if you like the other. Dororo focuses on demons, and Stranger on assassins.

Noragami has similarities to Dororo in that they both feature main characters who are samurai-like who are killing demons (or spirits in the case of Noragami). They both have a main protagonist who is accompanied with a younger side-kick like character. The main difference between the two is the time periods (Noragami takes place in the modern era) and that the main protagonists have different personalities. Still, there are enough similarities that you would likely like the other if you like one.

add

Like Outlaw Star, Cowboy Bebop shares some similarities with Iria, in that it is set in world with multiple settled planets, each with their own customs, and where space travel between them is cheap and common. Kind of a cyber-punky world. Where they differ, is that Iria and Outlaw Star, definitely have a more "far out" feel in that they seem very removed from our own world, like far future, or another galaxy. Cowboy Bebop on the other hand, clearly takes place in the future of our own present world, and includes references to the Earth, and so has some elements that tie it in with our own timeline. Cowboy Bebop is a story set in our own future, whereas Outlaw Star and Iria are much more abstract, especially Iria. However, they still share some similarities. And if you liked one, you may like the other. One interesting similarity is that both Iria and Spike and Jet are bounty hunters. Wheras in Iria that's something of a side story, as her main priority is finding out what happened with her brother, in Cowboy Bebop it's more front and center as it's how they get paid. But both stories have many similarities both in worlds and in that the main characters are bounty hunters.

One of the main things that these two anime share, is very unique set designs. Both Nausicaa and Iria: Zeiram, feature some of the most unique set designs ever featured in anime. Many anime feature run of the mill buildings, or worlds that seem very similar to our own, but the toxic forest in Nausicaa and just the general world entirely in Iria, are very interesting visually. If you like anime with very unique set designs and world designs you will probably like both of these. They also share a main character of a girl who in many respects are similar in their feel. Nausicaa is more in tune with animals and nature, and is focused on her projects. Iria, is more sporty and care-free and devoted to her brother. But they both are about a story of girls who must find their own way in some aspects, though Iria is more on her own.

Iria: Zeiram The Animation
add

These anime are very similar, especially in their world aspects. Both feature a universe where there are multiple settled planets, each with their own unique customs and technology. Both feature very diverse and unique props, vehicles, and cultural designs. You will see props being used in these anime that are very unique. You could almost think that they are different stories about different people in the same world, though they have a slightly different feel. Iria is about a girl searching for answers about her brother who has disappeared, and her interactions with a strange creature that seems to have some political aspects surrounding it that are more than meets the eye. Outlaw Star is about a captain of a special ship he has acquired, (and his friends and crew) that are dealing with searching for something called the Galactic Ley Line, and having to dodge shady crime syndicate people who want his ship while searching for his goal. One of the things that makes these anime similar also, is that Gene Starwind and Iria are similar characters in some respects. For example, whenever they get into a pinch, they both use a lot of interesting gadgets to get out of it. However Outlaw Star is more of a team effort sometimes, and Iria goes it alone mostly, they're still very interesting characters in similarity. Gene is more of a grumpy hot head, and Iria is more of a sporty girl with a motherly side who is devoted to her brother, but especially in terms of their gadgets and such, there's a lot of similarity. Both anime are very similar in some aspects. If you like one you would probably like the other.

These anime are very similar in many aspects. Both feature a post-apocalyptic world featuring a boy and girl main character. Both feature the boy having to protect the the girl from some danger and politics. Both feature serious elements as well as lighthearted elements at times. Conan is done by Hayao Miyazaki, and so features a lighter tone that it wraps it's more serious elements up in. Green Legend Ran is a bit more serious and features some graphic violence, romantic themes, and even some downright pervyness at times, so is more "grown up" in it's feel. But both are very similar in many ways. Green Legend Ran has a kind of "Final Fantasy 7" sort of feel to some aspects of it's story. Both are also classic anime, and definitely worth checking out.

Both anime feature children who have to survive in a world with adult themes going on and politics. Both involve character development over a period of time. Both involve very good people behind the anime. In the case of Kemono no Souja Erin, masterful writer Uehashi Nahoko who also wrote Moribito, is behind the story, in the case of Mirai Shounen Conan, master director Hayao Miyazaki is the director of the series. Both have very good stories involving children who must come to terms with adult realities in their worlds while not loosing heart and keeping a sense of lighheartedness in the face of aversion.
