After watching just a few episodes of this anime, I went round my house sticking post it notes on everything which had written on them 'LONG LIVE JAPAN!!'
Yes, that's how obsessed I was.
Code Geass gets you hooked on the very first episode and then drags you into a fictional world of war, mechas, utterly brilliant characters and shocking plot twists of which there's no way to emerge from until the anime's over and done with. It's really that addictive.
It doesn't matter what type of anime you're into, this one has bits of everything from school life ...

Pom poko was.... Slightly strange.
If the characters were humans I'd think the film was sick and twisted and should be rated much higher than what it is, but they're talking, animated raccoons...? Childish characters and a magical theme, yet a mature storyline?
I didn't really know what to make of it. X'D
None the less, good old Hayao Miyazaki once again hasn't failed to make this film utterly unique and get his morals across to viewers; I personally went away wanting to save all the woodland creatures' habitats. :) The characters were origional and the film was ...

God Child (Manga) add
There's no denying it, this manga is incredibly sick and twisted, with particular scenes so repulsive they'd make the faint hearted throw up.
...But you can't help loving it anyway!!

With artwork that beautiful, characters that lovable and unthinkable plot twists in every chapter, there's waaaay too much to love about this manga to ditch it just because it's sick. Kaori Yuki's done an amazing job of keeping the rather dark, 19th century aristocracy theme throughout and never fails to impress you with her wonderful - if not slightly deranged - ideas.
