I had decided that all of Enjouji Maki's female protagonists are misogynists. Then I read this. Wow. This reminded me of Hapi Mari, where the spunky opinionated girl becomes a soulless doormat. This overturns all of that. Of course, this is a fairy tale and the male protagonist is like Mr Darcy, but the girl remains true to herself and sticks to her decisions. This manga is a proper shoujo extravaganza. There are hot guys around every corner. They rescue the heroine from life threatening situations and try to bed her despite not wanting to. Shurikens are used to stop people from kissing. There are piggy back rides galore, intense kissing and what not. However its not ecchi or hentai. Its a gripping manga. The female lead is a klutz ninja and is mistaken for a guy many times. She wins everyone over with her heart. The story is extremely interesting and heartwarming. The art is quite good and appealing. Its a good read and will be a hit

Super fun manga. I laughed throughout. Hotaru is a dried fish woman with no social life. She happily lives on crisps and beer. Her life changes with the entry of 2 hot men. Unlike other josei or shoujo manga, I root for Hotaru and do not want to replace her in the manga. She is fun. Her office is really nice. Its glamourous and the workers help each other. The manga starts off like a Mills and Boons romance. A super rich, handsome and young company president enters into a contract marriage with a cute,immature and poor girl. The characters are developed nicely. They slowly learn about life and each other and become irreplaceable to each other. As the story progresses it convincingly deals with the various facets of marriage. Gripping manga. The story starts off well and gets better and better. Using Russian Orthodox Chistianity and history as the background lots of action is dished out. Each warrior can control an element from the periodic table. They can even form alloys. The story is set in a modern school with more girls than boys. There are ecchi strands and a spiritual milk plot. But its not fanservice. Its well woven into the story. The ecchi panels are not flashy and doesnt try to visually gratify. The anime made a hash of it.

This anime has a nice take on Erich von Däniken's theory. Truly creative. It is a dark fantasy. The cute kids laughing at school belie what is about to take place. The animation is different from the usual. The animation for Sayaka's last two fights was absolutely breathtaking. It was wonderfully expressive. But the anime loses the pace it has at the beginning. It could have been much better. Still its enjoyable. Wonderful theme music.
