The art style is very similar. Also each main characters starts off as a whinny self- pitying brat and slowly becomes the best at whatever they're doing. through constant hard work they gain the recognition from many others. What i especially like about the art is that you can actually see them growing older, unlike some manga that only declare the passing of time but the characters look exactly the same.

It really similar in so many aspects. The art, the story, the main character, etc. At first both of the main leads think that badminton is a joke, but they come to realize how difficult it is after being defeated by a really good player. Both main lead then become much more serious and strive to be much better players.

On his way there, he is saved by Nezumi and they escape to the land beyond no.6 Other similarities: The main characters are similar in their naive way of thinking. They both just want to live peaceful lives. Teito and Mikage made a pact to never abandon each other when facing trouble. Similarly Shion and Nezumi saves and support each other. The art is similar. Super GALS! Kotobuki Ran
|
First off I'll introduce the stories: (Super Gal) Ran's story: Ran is the top gal. She's stylish and fun. She spends her time protecting the streets and often help others in need. Her police parents want her to follow their steps, and start police training, but all she wants is to have a good time with friends. (Cheeky Angel, aka Tenshi na Konamaiki )Megumi's story:One day a boy comes across a magical book that belongs to a genie. His name is Megumi, a strong, energentic boy. The genie said he will grant him a wish. His wish was to become the strongest man. The genie tricks him and turns him into a girl. Six years later, he grows up to become a really beautiful girl. This is where the story begins. He continues his search for the genie, hoping to reverse the spell. Now that the stories are introduced: Sure the plot seems really contrasting, but it turns out that they're really similar. The main character for both series is strong-willed, athletic, and attractive*(Cheeky Angel:Megum) and (Super gals:Ran). They both help others in need. Many girls envy them and many guys admire them. ( BTW, I know Megumi is a boy) Other character similarities: Aya (super gals) and Miki (cheeky angel): Helpful, supportive friend Rei ( super gals) and Hitomonji (cheeky angel) : cool, composed guy Yuuya(super gals) and Genzo (cheeky angel) : annoying but devoted Both series are comedy-based and don't have complex plots. The art style is similar. Overall, they are fun to watch.

Captain Tsubasa: Road to 2002

Although Captain Tsubasa(all series) is about soccer and Major(all series) is about baseball, there main characters are quite similiar. Goro and Tsubasa both love the sport they play. They both are outgoing and competitive. They are not afraid of getting hurt, while playing and can be quite reckless sometimes. They also have similar supporting characters. To list a few----- The cooperative Best friend/ combo: Toshiya Sato (Major),Taro Misaki (Tsubasa). Then there's the tomboy love interest: Shimizu Kaoru(Major), Sanae Nakazawa (Tsubasa). The famous older player they admire/ want to play a match against: Joe Gibson (Major), Roberto Hongo(Tsubasa). Although Major is more realistic, has better quality drawing, and is more recent, give Captain Tsubasa a try (less annoying characters) they both are well known and fun to watch!
