Make sure you get real comfy watching this because you're defo gonna cry like a lil bich.

Kono sekai no katasumi ni is exactly what the title implies; it portrays the happenings of a specific set during the second world war. The anime is a magnifying glass and gives us an insight of what life was like during the time periods mentioned.

The story is based on real events that took place in Japan during the second world war. We the viewers see these events from the perspective of Suzu, a fictional character. The story uses both history and a variety of techniques to convey everything from ... emotions, events et cetera at a modest pace with variations in it where necessary for information to really sink in- especially emotions.

The characters presented are genuine in that there's no forced anime cliches and so forth. The movie spoonfeeds us with increasing information about these characters and leaves room for plenty of speculation and guessing. This is impressive since history already tells us how it all ultimately ends, yet you will be put on the edge of your seat and, on the verge of tears.

The sound and art work together seamlessly, the music used fits the overall aesthetic of the movie and does amazingly well to compliment each and every scene.

Honestly can't go wrong watching this. The only annoying thing about this was how many godamn tissues I went through. I gave this anime a rating of 8 but to be mroe specific, it's a strong 8.6 if anything.

The art style was a real selling point along with the overall aesthetic. But what I really liked about this anime was how well integrated the "jokey comedy" bits were. Like you'll have a joke or comedic clip take place in the middle of a clearly intense situation and instead of cutting from story to comedy and straight back to the story, the pan-outs and the story-board style along with the smooth transitions back to the actual scene really impressed me. It just felt so smooth.

The story itself is straightforward and pretty cohesive. You ... have a school and spirits, there are not too many things that seem too far fetched from the boundaries the anime has set in place. There's a sense of playfulness tastefully placed all throughout the anime, which makes use of those transitions in mood and visuals all the more noticeable. But even with the playfulness aspect sprinkled in, I still left each episode wanting to know more and asking myself questions which is an indication of a good watch.

Overall it's a good anime don't get me wrong, but for me personally, it felt a bit lackluster and I found myself confused in some of the episodes reasoning why the hell did x do this and y do that. Regardless, I liked watching it, and hopefully, so will you.

Never had I expected myself to be sinking into my bed trying to cover my eyes under my blankets to deny what just happened in an anime about dolls to say the least. This anime makes you do that.

Rozen Maiden was genuinely a lovely watch, the characters were quirky in their own ways as well as adorable. The action was at a decent level with final fantasy-esque music to beautifully compliment it making you feel all the more immersed. The story... The story is unique to say the least, although there weren't any mind blowing twists or anything, The animators and writers did an ... amazing job at conveying emotions through the dolls and other characters. With good pacing and some episodes there to just make you laugh and feel good followed by the story-rich episodes never really left me feeling starved of both, so you could say this anime had a great balance when it comes to the genres it displays.

Although the ending may not cater to everyone, I really do believe that everyone enjoyed the main course.

This anime gets a solid 8.0/10

The whole mecha genre is like a staple food, you can pair it/ include it in alot of dishes and it comes out tasting different and better depending on what you have it with. In this case, this anime did a great job of pairing the mecha theme with a deep and interesting story.

The whole concept of the hideauze and humans is genuinely interesting, and finding out more and more through the anime left me with more and more questions- an indication of a good anime. The writers did a great job at assigning the characters with their role and well... character! Even the MC ... Mech, Chamber, was more of an older brother to the MC than just some pile of metal. This is thanks to the sensible pacing and use of character development which the anime absolutely nailed.

Animation was decent, lots and lots of lasers. If they had a bigger budget this anime could easily become even better in terms of story and animation, not to mention the sound. I really wanted the hideauze to have some sort of iconic sound seeing how they're meant to be aliens.

Regardless, I loved watching this. More people need to know this exists!
I rated this a 7 but it's more of a 7.6

The thing is, I've watched 100+ anime before finally experiencing this beauty myself. Even then I still found myself at a loss for words, both because of how baffling the events are and just how awesome everything was.

After the introduction of the Nazis I was kinda like "uhhh excuse me wtf" but it was just an accessory to the main main story, if that makes any sense. The characters have their own unique personalities of course but I felt like the animation, camera shots, sounds used and everything else really did a good job of getting their role and character across.

I genuinely love ... this anime, to the point where I wouldn't mind simping for Integra.
