If time travel ever gets invented I will go back in time to tell myself to not waste my time on this show.
The art style was hard to look at, but a good anime watcher knows that that does not equate to the anime being bad. I, like many other seasonal watchers, welcomed Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha (2023) into the Summer 2023 lineup with open arms. I was particularly drawn to the FMC, and with this being a harem anime I checked out the other girls designs and was drawn in.
Fully knowing that harems are not the pinnacle of animes, I thought this
...
anime would change that stereotype and maybe give harem animes a better reputation.
The MC is a loser who has a declining mental disorder of obsessing over the FMC, a girl in his high school class. You might think that this is harmless, as a little crush is common in high school romance animes, but the poor teacher can not even start class because the MC is throwing a temper tantrum about how he wants to sit by the FMC.
The MC goes out of his way to make his love interest feel like a social outcast, and when he sees that her feelings are hurt, he does not set himself straight. When confronted with the FMC, she is disrespectful to not only the MC but also rude to other people with zero involvement whatsoever.
If you think this is how you get the girl in real life... you REALLY should stay away from the female species.
This anime ain't it chief. I'd look somewhere else for a passable harem anime.

Coming from someone who hasn't read the manga and doesn't know which chapter(s) are controversial, I could already tell this 3rd season of Rent-a-Girlfriend is going to go completely downhill.
This show is somewhat of a rollercoaster. The main character, Kazuya, tries to make the girls he wants hard, but is actually making them cringe. This season, Kazuya is trying to better himself as a person and for his relationship with Chizuru, and instead looks more desperate than teachers trying to make a joke in front of the class.
This is frustrating, you see, because as the viewer we want the characters to grow. We see
...
Sumi become more confident and we see Chizuru become more open with her emotions. However, when the spotlight shifts to Kazuya, he still stays the same.
But if you've made it to the third season you probably know by now...
Rent-a-Girlfriend is a rabbit hole that once you fall down you can't walk away from.
It's trash, but it's good trash, it keeps you entertained, but not in the "oh wow this is so good" it's really more like "I've got to put this down and do something with my life"
So in a way, it's motivating.
In conclusion, I would recommend the 3rd season of Rent-a-Girlfriend to those already stuck in the abyss.

The duality of man.
As cliche as the main characters family might seem, this kind of hatred and trauma can only break down a person so much.
If you're looking for something joyful and uplifting, you aren't going to find it in these first four episodes. My Happy Marriage (2023) is an anime about a young womens journey of healing. There is going to be heart breaks. There is going to be sleepless nights. But I do think that it is possible for the main character to make a recovery.
The art style in this anime is very beautiful. Everything is tinted pink to match the
...
cherry blossom flowers. The character designs are very appealing to those wanting to pick their next series based on the art style.
The cast in this show are like night and day. Several of the characters are unlikable, but I'm sure the writers intended for them to be. While on the other hand, there are other characters who want nothing but the best for each other and want to raise everyone's spirits.
The sound is very simple, yet roaring when it needs to be. The hype surrounding this show is deserved. Everything feels right in place and this anime has great potential to become an instant classic in the anime community- if ended perfectly.
I would say that for now, this is a show every seasonal watcher should keep their eyes on.

I'm going to be honest, I have not heard anyone watch this in 2023... or at all for that matter.
Story:
I had to watch parts of it in 2x speed because of how much it dragged on. There are many times where the main character, Lucia, complains about situations she put herself in. The whole plot is easy to follow, but you have to keep in mind that this anime's demographic is for children.
I can't help but feel like a lot of viewers who rated this high did so because of nostalgia reasons, and not because of the story. No one comes to Mermaid
...
Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch (2003) for the plot, they come for the cute girls and catchy tunes.
Art:
The art is very much enjoyable. It presented the early 2000's art style that old anime fans can appreciate. Any anime fan can appreciate how every girl/mermaid had their own colour. It was nice to see each mermaids' human form and wardrobe.
Character:
It was nice seeing the characters interact with each other. Even though they did all have similar goals and interest, at the end of the day, that is what makes them such good friends.
Sound:
There are many songs in Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch (2003), each of them are lively and fun; and also very memorable! Even after months having finishing the series, 'Splash Dream' and 'Voice in the Dark' still play in my head quite often.
I watched the sub and found no major problems or unlikeness towards it.
Conclusion:
Even though I did not watch Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch (2003) as a kid, I can see the appeal others have, and what made it hyped up so much.

Tomato onesie waifu my beloved.
Story:
Yuru Yuri (2011) is a comedy anime about friends who get together during and afterschool to have fun together, with the twist that they secretly find each other attractive while some of the girls are not afraid in the slightest to express their true feelings. This story has made me laugh very hard on many occasions and I am confident you will find it fun to watch as well.
Art Style:
The art style in Yuru Yuri (2011) is very round and adorable. The characters are very cute, just as they are likeable. The character designs are very simple with the
...
art style being rememberable. The animators definitely achieved a certain look that they were going for, with this cute, bubbly aesthetic. They are, however, two characters that are related in the series and look very much alike, so this might be confusing for newer audience members to tell them apart.
Sound:
The voice actors did a very good job at making the girls sound cute and approachable. All of the characters are friends, and the seiyuu's do a fantastic job of making them sound like they get a long but can still joke around with each other.
Character:
Plenty of the main characters have a lot of the same interest and goals, which is why they are club members, and friends. However, it could get a tad bit dull that many of the same characters have a lot in common. The supporting cast fit right along with the main characters with the only main difference being the amount of screen time. There was very few character development, but I see that appropriate with this being a comedy.
Enjoyment:
I would personally rewatch this show to revisit the comedy. This series was rememberable, and I can see myself enjoying it the more I endure this franchise. In my opinion, this anime can only be disliked if the viewer isn't a fan of the genre. This show is pretty much what you'd expect from seeing the genre, rating, and characters.

An accurate representation of insomnia and characters on a whole new level of relatability.
Kimi wa Houkago Insomnia (2023) is an anime that revolves around the topic of insomnia. Poor sleep schedule happens often between teens in school, so it makes sense why there is finally an anime about it. This particular anime doesn't go into the statistics of Insomnia, nor does it talk about prevention or seeking treatment, but instead goes into what Insomnia is like from a teenagers point of view.
I was able to relate to the main characters, and I think that even if you, the viewer can not, that giving
...
this show at least a few episodes will show you a different perspective.
The art style is nice and the colour palette is soothing. Altogether it brings a relaxing and chill atmosphere which makes you, the viewer, wanting to watch this show.
Each of the characters make mistakes, get embarrassed, and try their best to lift each other up. It fills the viewer up with excitement each time they get to see the main characters working together to solve their problems.
Another thing enjoyable about this anime, is the opening. The soundtrack in general is very peaceful and this show hits different watching it late hours in the night!
I can envision myself watching this in the future, I think there is a lot to unpack here with this story! This anime will be remembered for years to come.

Alright hear me out, this one's actually kind of good.
Story:
The story is told between the cast of four main characters. Each one of them with memorable character designs and bright personalities to be around.
Everyone in this show pretty much knows each other already, and with every friendship developing, you can expect occasional banter.
Art:
I found the art style of Lucky Star (2007) very iconic and recognizable. Granted, the background characters are lacking, but if you are looking for something fun and colourful, then this show is for you.
While the mid 2000's Kyoto Animations art style is very unique, the upbeat and friendly cast
...
certainly settles the mood.
Character:
The characters each feel personalized and individually created. Many viewers can relate to the main character, Konata because of how she selflessly expresses her otaku nature. You *may* also find it relatable to have close friends such as Kagami, who question the weeb aesthetic. (I guess some people just aren't men of culture)
Sound:
While some people may find the opening song "annoying", but for me, it always makes me want to get up and dance. The music is always upbeat and fun to listen to, which I think is the vibe Lucky Star (2007) is trying to convey.
Enjoyment:
As someone who considers Lucky Star (2007) as their favourite anime, i enjoyed it a lot. Personally, I have it as my phone and desktop wallpaper, purchased merchandise, and bought the entire show on blu-ray and DVD.
Everything about this show is simply *chefs kiss* and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

If you loved season one, you will love season two just as much.
Story:
Tonikaku Kawaii 2nd Season (2023) is all about the married life. The show tries to make it as entertaining as possible, while still staying true to the first season. It is nice to see a healthy couple in anime every now and then. There is some fanservice, which is to be expected with this being a story portraying the married life. It is nice to see the main love interest, Nasa and Tsukasa, open up to each other more and express their feelings and individual opinions.
Art:
The side characters were fun to
...
see, there hair having all sorts of variety and volume. The art style is very simplistic, while still being able to tell each of the characters apart. I think the art style of this story is fitting for the story, with it being nothing too complicated. Each of the character designs were appealing and they match the characters personality.
Sound:
With Tonikawa Season 01 having one of my favourite opening theme songs, I had my expectations high for Tonikaku Kawaii 2nd Season (2023) opening theme song to be an equal banger. Thankfully, I was right. It was nice to hear the voice actors/actresses again, after watching the first season years ago. I watched the original sub, and a little bit of the English dub, but found the original sub to suit my fancy.
Characters:
Well... Nasa is still kind of a oblivious to Tsukasa's love, but I'd like to think that just means he's iconic. The two main characters, Nasa and Tsukasa and a few others reacted to situations in appropriate, natural ways. Whereas, some younger characters where somewhat annoying just like how any young person would be to two high schoolers. I think I'll remember Tsukasa in the future, She is definitely a contender for the waifu wars.
Enjoyment:
It is high! I am watching Tonikaku Kawaii 2nd Season (2023) as it is airing, and I have no regrets. I was excited to hear when season 02 got announced, and have been enjoying tuning in weekly! It is without a doubt in my mind that if you enjoyed the first season of this wholesome, high school aged romcom, you will like second season.

Arguably the most laid back and chill atmosphere an anime this season has created.
Skip to Loafer (2023) is a simple anime about the life of a girl starting high school. This anime tells its story in a way that makes the viewer feel nostalgic for their teenage years.
Story:
The story is very wholesome in the beginning. As we spend more time with the characters, we learn that they each have flaws of their own they're working on. Everyone in the story is trying the best they can with the most they got at the moment.
Art:
I absolutely am obsessed with the girls hair accessories. Everyone of
...
them looks so cute. The colour palette in Skip to Loafer (2023), is very pastel. Everything is very soft and each of the characters stand out.
Sound:
It is not anything overly complicated. The theme song has a way of singing about the want of being yourself, and gives the viewer to not care what others think of you.
Character:
The characters in Skip to Loafer (2023), each have their own personality. One thing I can actually appreciate about a cast like this, is that they make mistakes and apologize when they are in the wrong. Some of the cast we aspire to be, ashamed to have walked in their shoes, and overall aspire to have as friends.
Enjoyment:
I am watching Skip to Loafer (2023) when it is airing. I am firmly content recommending. It tells the story of youth and freedom, with each episode more wholesome than the next.

Alas, it continued to be good.
Story:
Sailor Moon S is the third season in the well-loved anime, famously known as Sailor Moon. It was refreshing to see our main character, Usagi face challenges she had never faced before and we the viewer can see her growing as a person when she steps out of her comfort zone. It also had a beautifully done emotional ending as well.
Art:
The art is a very aesthetically pleasing 90's anime vibe. I love the attention to detail that every character has more than one outfit. However, it was a little hard to tell the difference between Moon with her
...
hair down and Venus.
Sound:
The use of the main theme song playing slowly in the background during a calming scene was so serene. The theme song is very catchy and I personally sing it all the time. Sailor Moon is one of the only animes where the English Theme Song is better than the original.
Character:
It was hard to pick a favourite character! Each of the main characters was so intricate yet had their own touch to them. The side villains, however, were pretty silly and didn't really scare anyone with this being a show aimed more towards kids. The main villains were cruel and cunning, their victims' trauma was almost too much to bear!
Enjoyment:
My enjoyment was very high. I can strongly recommend Sailor Moon to any fan wanting to start or wanting to continue the series.
