The last episode was so good, I wish that the whole series had been that good. There were a lot of underwhelming moments throughout the series but the events culminated nicely at the end, the backstory of the main character definitely served to advance the plot and not to enrich the character herself. Pretty much all she does is cook; she can cook and it solves all the problem in the story. For me the characters are all pretty one dimensional
The lack of any sort of animation really made the production of the anime feel sloppy. I am sure that the additional level of detail
