Oreimo or Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai is one of the more unique experiences in the anime genre. The first season is full of messages about relations, societal norms, family expectations, and etc. While the series can be seen just for its fixation on little sisters and the eroge side of the anime genre, a huge overlooked part of the series’ are its messages. These messages say things about parts of society, hobbies, and relationships/friendships. The convey experiences that are relatable and hard to miss.
While the season does a great job in its messages, the fan service as a whole
...
is over the top and can be a big deal breaker. This can make the story uncomfortable to watch especially when the subject of the season is the protagonist’s little sister, while this alone would not be as bad. The particular genre of eroge in question is about little sisters falling in love their older brothers. In combination with the multiple misunderstandings, the title, and the fanservice moments, the tone of the series makes it harder to watch than it already is. The characters while expressive and in depth, the personalities tend to be on the more extreme side and as a result makes it harder to relate to the characters for their struggles and hardships. Especially the tsundere nature of Kirino is harsh and unfortunately does not have any redeeming qualities. Kirino is a huge offender of being extremely natured, she’s otaku culture personified and being portrayed as a “perfect” person on the outside just goes to show otaku culture in lighter shade. This by itself is not a bad thing per se but can be viewed negatively when paired in junction with the overall topics of the show. Kirino in essence feels like a portrayal of otaku culture and nothing more. She feels like has no other purpose but to be act as the doorway to otaku culture that has been mentioned.
Despite my criticism for the series, Oreimo with its extreme approach and characters to telling its story, the characters being as extreme as they are pivotal in helping the story move along its tracks. A part of the show’s charm is how extreme it is with its ideas. In addition, the extreme approaches to the story helps further push the story along the The story being character driven helps the execution of the story. The messages being about society and relationships The messages are fruitful and can easily be applied to ourselves as we have had situations we can use to relate to the series. And the protagonist can be seen as helpful and does not have any deal breaking flaws that make the protagonist hard to like. This goes for the majority of the cast, aside for a certain little sister. However, even when the series can be extreme they are still grounded to reality. While the execution of some of these situations are out of the ordinary, the bare bones of the most of the situations in this series, are plausible in real life. While the series does have an extreme approach to fan service, as the story progresses, the series tones down the fan service towards in the latter half of the season.
Unfortunately, I found the season one of Oreimo immensely uncomfortable to watch even with its upsides and the toning down of the fanservice. The topic of eroge gives the story an undertone that would be hard to miss even when the fanservice gets milder. I would say if you can stomach the fan service or do not mind it, give the series a try because of the series’ messages. However the series is not something I would say a majority of people would enjoy. I cannot say I enjoyed the series because of how much of an impression certain factors of the series give. For example, Kirino if replaced by a male character would have been seen more as a creep due to her interests in eroge and little sisters falling in love with their older brothers. And while I mention the fan service of the series gets toned down, it leaves enough of an impression to effect the subtone of the series. Despite the praise I have given this installment, after some thought, I would say I give season one a 2/10. While this series can be enjoyable and entertaining to some, it caters to a very specific audience. This is not a show to watch without knowing what you’re getting into and definitely shouldn’t pick up on a whim.

Due to the success of the first season, I was pretty disappointed with how poorly season two was handled. One of my biggest issues has to due with the pacing of the series, since while season one had twenty five episodes, season two only had 13 episodes. The characters shaped and formed in season one were just glazed over in season two. Stand alone, rising of the shield hero season two isn't praiseworthy nor is it that trashy to the point of harsh criticism, it just feels like another isekai. Though as a continuation of season one, it becomes a huge disappointment due to the
...
hype built up from the success of its predecessor.
As mentioned before, Season two's biggest issue is the pacing especially at the beginning of the season with the spirit turtle arc. You are just immediately thrust into another problem as soon as you start the season. Though when the spirit turtle arc is over, the pacing issue becomes less of a problem. Besides the pacing issues, the characters start to feel more bland. The other world arc was somewhat better than the arc that comes before it. Though when looking at it with a closer inspection, it just feels like season one but going at a faster pace. Such as the Queen feels overly obedient and starts to feel like Naofumi is the true brain behind the plans in the series because the Queen follows Naofumi's plans like a dog following their owner for a treat. Aside from the Queen, the three other heroes' characterization became just being useless and Naofumi and his party just feels like the one doing the most work out of everyone else in the cast.
Though season two did appeal to me with the characters feeling more expressive than their season one counterparts and expansion of the cast was nice such as the addition of the other world's heroes such as Kizuna the hunting hero. Naofumi not being able to use the wrath shield as a crutch was also a nice touch due to it being a big part of his arsenal with the last season.
All in all, The rising of the shield hero season two was a big disappointment and the pacing issue can be fixed with more time in production. Though the story issue themselves cannot be fixed as easily and would be an issue with the source material. I would generally not recommend this show to anyone except for anybody who wants to watch more shield hero content or are just diehard fans of the series. I would rate this season with a 6/10.

Akebi’s sailor uniform feels like your standard cgdct anime that doesn’t have anything that helps it stand out nor doesn’t really have any major flaws. It’s the type of anime that could be forgotten in the background after some time has past due to not having a concept nor execution that helps it stand out.
The problem with Akebi’s sailor uniform is how plain the plot can be. Though that’s a problem many slice of life can have and is not just a problem Akebi uniquely has. However the way the relationships the protagonist felt instantaneously like you catching a Pokémon in a game. And a
...
few fetishes do come out of the woodwork from time to time.
However some of the touching moments in the show felt well earned and you can feel how some characters get closer. The animation and art style also feel like they draw you in despite the simplistic story.
Overall Akebi’s sailor uniform is a show that would be put on just to pass time and not for anyone who are in a mood for something that would actually be relaxing which Akebi’s sailor uniform fails to do. In the end, I would give Akebi’s sailor uniform a 6/10 and I wouldn’t really recommend this show to anyone.

Oshi no ko was a series I had high expectations for. An anime that was supposed to reveal the the dark side of the entertainment industry. And frankly those expectations were not met and was disappointing. There were some moments that got dark but most of the show was just filled with idol content.
What I did not like about Oshi No Ko was how the story felt, the story itself was good but only on paper. The way it progressed was lackluster like you’re watching someone poorly act out a scene. And the characters just felt like they had one purpose on the
...
screen and felt shallow. The quality of the show just felt mediocre and nothing special and dipped in quality as it went on. And aside from the first episode and a few key moments, it felt like the story ran too smoothly and with no trouble at all.
However what I did like was how each character felt different from each other and can conflict with each other’s goals and wishes. Episode one also showed how drastic life can change and without warning. It’s easy enough to digest in order to understand what’s going on in the story and doesn’t throw that many industry specific terms around. I also liked how they portrayed the cyber bullying incident and how it could affect someone’s life.
All in all, I would recommend Oshi No Ko to those looking for a dip in the water for a darker anime but if you’re well versed in dark anime or want to go in deeper with a dark anime. Then Oshi no Ko is not for you and that includes if you like idol anime because Oshi No Ko doesn’t solely focus on idols but goes into the other parts of the entertainment industry too. Despite its flaws, I would give Oshi no Ko a 7/10.

Bloom Into you is honestly a great Yuri and romance series (50 chapters). At its core it is a lot more than just Yuri, it's a journey of self discovery for these characters in the story. The characters all have issues that the reader can relate or even just understand what the characters are going through. Due to this, the characters feel like they are more alive than just being ink on a page.
I don't really have any complaints or any dislikes about Bloom into You. I wouldn't critique or change anything in the story since I found it perfect the way it was.
What
...
I did like about the show is how it addresses love in reality in fiction. As well as the dynamic between Koito and Nanami and how there isn't a big significant third character that tries to break that dynamic between them. Nothing in the series feels prolonged either.
All in all, I would recommend this series to anyone who is looking for a good romance and not just to people looking for a yuri series. The series is short enough to binge in one sitting. I would give this series a 9.5/10.

First of all it's been a fun experience watching Lawerence's and Holo's travels. Seeing an anime with a merchant instead of a student or idealistic character is a refreshing experience though even an interesting concept can be ruined by a poor execution. Spice and Wolf in my opinion is not one those poor executions.
Honestly I don't have much to say about what I dislike about the series. Lawerence's and Holo's dynamic didnt feel all that special at the start of the series but over time it felt like they had something special. At the times arguments between the characters seem overdramatized to some extent.
...
What did I like is how Lawerence isn't portrayed as some prodigy or super merchant but as a regular person who makes mistakes. Not one or two but a lot of them, makes him feel more human like. I also feel like Holo is an accurate depiction of a supernatural being instead of those who just fall in love with a human (cough cough Ristarte from overly cautious hero cough cough). I also liked how brute force isn't the answer to any of the situations.
Overall, Spice and Wolf is a nice break from all the slice of life, romcom, and action anime out there. Though I would say it's not for everyone because there's a lot of talk about economics, profit, and loss. It can very well go over your head if you're not willing to pay attention to what's going on. It's also not for the people who like morally good mcs because there is a lot of greed in this show. I will give spice and wolf season one 10/10 and season two 9/10.
