This is just a breakdown of my own opinion using cons and pros.
- Weak to zero character development
- Incoherent plot lines with more holes than Swiss cheese that leave one with many unanswered questions
- Comical approach + bits of shounen-ai ? + weird characters (trap included) = can't be taken seriously
- Jumps in plot (or what feels like missing information) leads to constant confusion
- A lot of plot devices unexplained which makes me think Akechi and Kobayashi are more like fortune tellers than actual detectives
+ Impressive art style and animation + small touches (like silhouetting unrelated characters)
+ Lovely soundtrack; op and ed
...
are both enjoyable and fit the atmosphere
it is essentially a wacky, quirky anime that quickly distances itself from realistically possible scenarios.
I can't deny that I had fun watching it, but often one just can not take it seriously (maybe the anime was made with that intention; I honestly do not know). If you were expecting a serious murder-mystery with
mind-baffling cases and a coherent story, this will most likely severely disappoint.
On a side note, I thought Ranpo Kitan gave out a similar vibe to Danganronpa from time to time, but that might just be me. I'll end with a warning, though, that it does have a good amount of gore and disturbing material so proceed at your own risk!

I'll try my best to keep this short. This anime is ridiculously horrible. From generic everything to very weird CGI to just very wrong mistakes (an example would be Hijikata who has 3 nose holes for some fucked up reason). However, it is so horrible that everything is too funny. Every time I watched an episode I ended up laughing my ass off. For some reason this anime is just pure fun to watch.
If you want an actually good anime with eye-catching animation (although the character design is not bad) and an interesting, coherent, slightly complex plot this is definitely not for you and
...
I advise you to steer away.
Otherwise, if you're utterly free, give it a whirl and you might end up actually enjoying it like I did.

After watching this, I can honestly say that most of you would not regret picking it up! I love a lot of old anime, because they have this charm that is absent from a lot of productions nowadays, and this one is no exception. A very charming piece that might seem to carry the normal associations of any fluffy shoujo anime, but is surprisingly full of twists!
Story (10)
Ah~ I'm not sure if I can say much without spoiling stuff along the way, so I'll keep it brief. Go into this expecting the "typical shoujo anime" and you will be shocked. The story has so much
...
more going on for it, and there is rarely a dull moment. I love how the anime steps out of the stereotype of typical "love", and introduces many kinds of love throughout. The only thing to look out for is the time-line, because they tend to jump a month or even a year in just a few episodes, so don't be surprised if you suddenly realize that a year has passed since (insert event here) has happened :)
Conclusion: Story-wise, you will not be disappointed.
Art (8)
Hmm not much to say here. The art can be a bit awkward at times, but even if one is used to the all new gorgeous animation, one will eventually get used to it. I thought it was a nice change, and part of what makes old anime charming. The guys, which are in a way the fan-service of this type of anime, are very appealing as well so all is good.
Sound(7)
Nothing special. Both the opening and ending are good; they did not leave much of an impression on me though (although I quite liked the OP) so I kind of skipped them each time.
Characters (10)
The best thing about this anime is its characters. Every character in this show, except maybe for Yui (who doesn't offer much and the show can do without, but is still fun to watch) has a role to play. I honestly loved every character, even the villains You could see that they focused on their development and made sure that every character leaves an impression on the viewer.
Overall (10)
Yup. This is utterly enjoyable, and as I said the dull moments are rare. It is best that one takes it slowly and does not rush in watching this, as it is 39 episodes and if you try to rush it it might end up boring you. That being said, if you have some time on your hands, do not hesitate to pick this up. It was worth my time, and hopefully will be worth yours.

As expected from a Conan movie: exciting and a very nice treat for conan fans :)
The story was good, and I loved how they incorporated real-life details about the Japanese self-defense force and the Aegis system.
Lovely end song. Art is the usual, but I especially liked how accurately the design of the destroyer was depicted. The movie has a nice, smooth development and many thrilling moments. I thought the ending was slightly exaggerated, but I won't spoil anything. The very last scene was really touching :')
I surprisingly enjoyed this more than I thought I would. Overall, it was a lovely thing that many Conan
...
fans if not all would enjoy and works as a stand-alone as well for others to enjoy just the same.

This anime is centered around basketball, where a team of 5 players try to prove their worth and skills and play the basketball they love, overcoming the many obstacles they had to face. Despite its many flaws, it was an enjoyable ride for me.
Art & Animation (5):
It was pretty obvious that the animation was bad. I do understand that this was made in 2003; but slam dunk was made in 1993, and i still think it had better animation than this. The faces get really weird at some scenes, and it didnt have a smooth flow; any basketball anime needs to have a
...
nice flow to be able to accurately and entertainingly portray the action of any match. It was hard to know how they got past the opposing members sometimes, and sometimes the defenders on the other team were not defending at all! The character design wasn't really bad, even though i personally think Aikawa's hair was really weird. Overall, the execution was not well done.
Sound (8):
I really hated the opening at first, but it was somehow catchy, and I got used to it in the end. The ending song, however, was awful; but that might just be personal preference. The sound effects were done well, and the music that played at certain scenes fit them. As for the voice acting, I thought it was very good, and the voices compliment the characters.
Story (7):
The story was'nt really extraordinary, but that was to be expected. Most basketball animes tend to have similar story lines, which are pretty normal. There were some original ideas, however. The whole idea of the club being dis-functional before Aikawa came; also, the addition of a female basketball team. I thought the female team was a great idea and a first in the anime industry, however, it was not well executed. The team served only as practice partners for the boys' team and as support. It should have had its own hurdles to overcome, which were almost none. The individuals of the team faced personal problems, but the team as a whole never did.
Character (7):
The characters were not really that special, but some of them still grow on you. For me, most of the girls, save for Satomi and Mai, were really annoying. The boys were kind of interesting, and we got to explore the pasts of some of them. The opponents were also good, nothing special though. East Honmoku was the rival team that grew on me most, and i thought they were the source of most of the comedy in the whole show.
Enjoyment (8):
Despite the bad animation and the unnecessary scenes, I quite enjoyed this series. The story was so attractive that it made me watch the 26 episodes in 2 days. The more the story unfolds, the more interested it makes you in what's coming next. Although it had its flows, this show was still very enjoyable for me, as I'm sure it was for others as well.

I usually never write reviews, but this was just so horrible that I had to write something. It's not really much of a review as it is just me rambling about how this is the worst of the worst! I watched this expecting a good shounen-ai story that was not necessarily enjoyable, but still somewhat decent. What I got was the complete opposite. You'd think by the time You finish a 4 episode series you'd be saying it was too short, but by the 3rd one, I was already wishing it would just end. I just wonder how I still had it in me
...
to actually finish this that can only be called "crap".
I'm not talking about the story because I was literally left off wondering what the hell was the point of this; I saw no real story in it. Sound and Art were decent. Not really the art style I prefer but I guess it depends on the person. Character developments were poor and the main character, Chihaya, makes you watch just thinking: "How the hell did an anime revolve around this guy?" I seriously went through the whole thing wishing there would be any kind of bomb exploding, killing him in the process. Also, even though I liked Kagetsuya, his partner, I just could not handle how we would just do everything for Chihaya's sake. It was so hard to watch. The romance was just.....dead, all thanks to Chihaya of course!
I can say with real confidence that this was the stupidest, most pathetic thing I have ever seen. Even though the first 2 episodes where somewhat decent, the next 2 just kill any kind of enjoyment you could have obtained from watching. I will warn anyone who reads this, if you want to watch, just watch the first 2 episodes. Do not proceed further, or else you WILL be sorry for life, just like how I am right now.
