Another generic power fantasy plot, but with these damn well written and drawn chapters. Its not isekai, but its reincarnation where the MC gets his passion and underutilised talents transferred from a past poor life, to a richer and well to do royal family, where he can spend his time doing what he loves: Magic Research.
The arcs are powerful, the story writing is gripping, and its clear that the author really enjoys his work. Once in a while, when the MC gets extra passionate, you get full on colored panels, which are done so damn beautifully!! Most characters are cool, but tend to fall flat
...
after a while since they are mostly personified stereotypes, but the way there are presented is just *chefs kiss* :3
Its basically one punch man, but magic

Theres alot of H out there catered to very specific tastes, or very specific genres. But vanilla? We have a massive lack right there, and this is a very big cake to fill that hunger for wholesome :3 Why are you still reading reviews? Go fill that horni wholesome hole in your heart now!!
While writing this review, it doesnt have a full english translation yet, so do take note. But honestly, the settings and the characters, you dont need to have English, to have a good time, so take out the tissues (for your eyes probably), and bust out that lotion (to moisturize your face
...
from the dehydration your eyes will create), and let's a good time down under :>

Moribito is one of the old animes that feel "very slow", at least to me. But it serves a strong and effective purpose of helping us to connect with the world and the characters. While I did watch it in 1.5x speed, I still feel the weight of the writing, so feel free to enjoy it at a faster speed.
A fantasical world where the supernatural meets ours once every few years. The story has multiple strong messages laid throughout the series, and all of them grow significantly from the start to the end. The middle of the story gets quite draggy and a few episodes
...
do feel like it could have been omitted, but in a 12-13 episode season, it would have been too rushed.
While this won't be one of my top animes, its still a good watch in 2022

While better than its predecessor, this anime is still greatly lacking.
The story is adapted from an anime, and as I understand it, is a very good story that is poorly represented here. The concept that a summoned hero is not a musclebrained combat freak that solves all problems with gimmicky cheat powers, is very novel indeed. But it is still weird that a student is the one that can bring about these changes, would be better if in his previous life he was an actual politician that people love, but was constantly abused and eventually assassinated by corrupt officials.
There is still mostly just a bunch
...
of stills, the director really likes to make the characters sit around and monologue the story instead of showing things happening. While I dont need action scenes since this is not an action series, they could still show things like strife, riots and such happening in city xyz, instead of narrating in an office. Heck I rather pan over a still of a scene related to the narration, rather than still of the main characters that we see 1001 times an episode. Hell, the characters have to say "These people are sad", when they can show it. "There is an emergency at xxx" but they talk calmly standing still on the spot. It very much spoils immersion of any kind.
Characters have personalities, but most of the time are turned off to conduct said monologuing. Even in action scenes, the enemies can run for 10 seconds while characters monologue in their heads. They also love to pan front, side, and 3/4 views alot... but that does not develop the characters at all. By the end of this season, there is no development to most of the old characters, even if they do its very minimal. They introduced a new cast of side characters, but it was quite poorly done. "Heres Side chara F, he is good at xxx and he will only be relevant for this episode". They then become another piece of the background in the following episodes.

While at a glance the main poster looks like its going to be a banger, this was an anime pill that was excruciating to swallow. I would not recommend, there are better things to waste time on, like staring at a ceiling contemplating existence.
The concept is already kind of off whack. In the future, gangs can only settle disputes by Xtreme Baseball, and any other form of disputes will trigger some bots to noscope your ass from across the alleyway or something. Even worse, the story doesnt really do any worldbuilding, it just tosses you things cause "its like that".
The art is reminiscent of Danganronpa,
...
and I dig it, but the animation is clear where there is and isnt budget. Early on they spend alot on VFX for the high tension action scenes to hook in the viewers, but the quality just evaporates not even halfway through the season. Heck, the sound balancing is off whack, there are parts where the voice and music are equally loud, making it difficult to hear what the characters are actually saying. The SFX in certain parts is also very misplaced.
Most of the characters are kind of just plain annoying, and there is no real development in their characters since the start. Some are slightly more interesting, but even ruffians change over time. While Tribes are supposedly built up as some "major power" in the synopsis, it never felt that way at all. The characters all feel like theyre playing around at an after school club, hoping to get into the big leagues and beat actual delinquents with kindness and friendship.

I enjoyed the manga, but watching the anime it loses alot of its flair and ambition. Needs more chuunibyo, less monologuing, and more attention to the action scenes. A power fantasy that was converted into more of a carefree slice of life.
The story is adapted from a manga, and follows it well, but the direction and focus of the anime takes away its magic. Its an isekai where people reincarnate into their game characters with all the looks and skills fully imported. While much time has passed between the game and their reincarnation, we follow the main character who is a summoner also adept at
...
close combat, and dubbed the "One Man Army" at some point in the past. The action scenes are average at best. We know the MC is strong, but it doesnt feel that way because we dont get setup to feel that way, we are just shown that she just is.
The art is nice, but I feel there is too much focus on the main character's design that every other character feels bland. The "badass One Man Army" had too much of a child-appealing downgrade that he just looks like any other ordinary wizard. The side characters all are abit too generic, their outfits are just to mention their class and does not do anything in the show.
There is not much character development. They feel the same as they do at the start middle and end. There is no change in motivation, character, etc because there is no goal or trial or be overcome. MC goes to place ABC to do tasks because some other player said to, meet a couple of "strong" demons, and nothing changes from before and after. We are just shown the "threat" and it is verbally said to act as a build up, but there is no weight to the trauma, the looming inevitable villains, etc.
Overall this anime is more of a time killer than an actual art. Could have been greater, but the direction it took did not do the source material justice.

An isekai that should exemplify what modern isekais should aim to achieve. While not a fan of isekai, I do watch my fair share, and I have to say that this is something I truly enjoy. The way the studio presents the world, characters, story, and twists, it is predictable, but still hilarious, enjoyable and cute all at the same time. Literally taking "sometimes it takes a real man to be best girl" to the extreme, and slap in a "childhood friend ftw" route in there too cause whynot.
The story is about 2 salarymen who have been friends since middle school, both extremely eccentric in
...
their own personalities. They get sent into another world, one of them genderbent and both have a curse to fall in love, only to face all kinds of inconveniences and trials that are very serious under most situations, but are diffused due to their lack of common sense and the comedic genius direction of the studio. A generic demon-king slaying story, but self aware and packed full of slapstick humor and meme-worthy moments.
The art is nothing special, but it is drawn well and the colors work very well at different parts of the show. The difference between comedic and serious moments can be compared to One Punch Man Season 1, where it gets simplified to create a tension in the moment that is funny, but still retains the seriousness of the problem at hand.
The development of the characters is what I love in this series. They all have their flaws and strengths clearly spelt out, and get into all kinds of situations due to it, but they still somehow make things work with what they have. None of those "flashback gives me extra power", "Friendship is magic" things going on here. Their lack of concern for the importance of some of these clearly threatening crises also make for a good laugh.
All in all, I love it, might give the source material a read one day. Highly recommended for casual and non-isekai fans too.

An isekai that does not leave behind any memorable nor stands out in any way besides some absurd character moments.
The story is an isekai where neets end up in a game that they used to play but shut down some time ago. They get imported at different times into their game characters, but there is no overarching villain nor goal to the story. We follow a main character that was one of the biggest neets, meet her absurd NPC children, and watch her nonchalantly break the world's "common sense". Theres no continuous plot except for one use jokes, only a few plot devices return only
...
to be the "nuisance of the week".
The art leaves nothing to be desired, nothing really stands out or sticks to the memory, their outfits and equipment are standard RPG clothes based on their jobs/classes, and the background is also standard grassy plains and capital city vibe. While background is not badly drawn, the animation of the characters feel below average standard of today's animes.
The characters feel bland and uninspired, just over inflated to make certain jokes land, but they get tiring after some time and it is clearly shown. A large majority of the show is done monologuing with action and adventure scenes few and far between. I dont feel like I can connect or relate to any of the characters as well, maybe except the lizardman player.
While I dont know the source material, I can say that this anime is not something I enjoy. There are other isekais that achieve better standards by telling and presenting a better packaged series. This adventure did not feel adventurous, the comedy feels very shallow, there is no development that I can feel, and the designs didnt stick in my memory. While I am not a fan of isekais as a genre, there are much better isekai animes out there, such as the couple isekai (Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to) that came together this season.

A very well executed mecha anime that deserves much of the praise it can get. As all the other reviewers mentioned, this show starts off excruciatingly slow, but it picks up well once you struggle your way through the first 6 or so episodes. Though I am watching this in 2022, the story holds up well despite its age, and the ecchi is sometimes overwhelming, but it is understandably the state of the world, and also a very specific "lucky pervert".
Its not a power fantasy where the main character gets stronger and stronger with each conflict, but she already reaches her maximum combat potential within
...
the first arc. There is very little "friendship is magic", "the power of flashbacks" power spike in this anime. They have everything they need in the first 10 episodes, and the rest of the anime they learn how to use it, and learn how to fight together, learn how to get over each individual's trauma.
The characters all grow and develop together, and yes theyre all idiots, but theyre loveable idiots that go through hardship and tough times. No character is infallible, they all have their pasts, their motivations, and their weaknesses. Do expect some plot armor though, but at least its not blatantly written, and the characters do learn, whether right or wrong, from their mistakes. The villain is well written despite breaking character at the end, but it feels satisfying to defeat such an overpowered character.
All in all, great anime, but I wished that they used the song in the anime alot more often than they did, and sing the entire thing dammit. Its a great song, why not sing the entire thing?? :<
