Usually you wouldn't be expecting much from these specials episodes. Usually you'd watch it if you're craving more of the original series--and that's the state that I'm in. I loved the original series and apparently there's no English translation of the original novel yet so I've decided to watch the specials. It was surprisingly good. The show managed to create a new story line and the comedy is good as always. You'll get the same queer atmosphere as the original TV series which made the show great as it is. Noticeably, the specials take a more of a darker turn as apparent on how each ... episode ends.

Usually when I see a loli on the anime poster, I would expect cuteness overload out of the anime, even if it's about war or those gritty things, as apparent in "Girls und Panzer" and "Gakkougurashi!". But this show is completely different. From the first episode, you are treated with a psychotic smile, from the one and only loli--Tanya. Tanya is certainly one of the more interesting characters I have seen from this season. As you are watching this series, you travel through the trials and tribulations of a god denying girl, and her wish for a better life. I say it's really an enjoyable ... ride. The show really gets into the Tanya's thoughts, her motivations and reasons. I also like how the show handles it's tone: it's dark and horrid, but there's also these short breaks where it allows the viewers to experience light-hearted humor. This makes the characters feel really human. I have watched 4 episodes so far and I think that this is a must-watch of this season.

Hidamari Sketch is able to drag you into it--in to the everyday lives of four high school girls. "Boring or not?" you may ask. Usually these slice of life anime would have some sort of a twist to it such as the supernatural. As for Hidamari sketch, it's just a normal day to day life that might seem mundane to some. However, I enjoyed this anime more than other with the 'twists'. So, what makes it special? It comes with amazing sound soundtrack and tripy art that helps alleviate the mundane-ness from the simple plot. But ultimately, it comes with a well portrayed human interaction ... which reminds me of the better days in my life.

A sports where you can use only your ass and titties. Just thinking about it makes my spine hurts but that's the point of "Keijo!!!!!!!!": it thrives in its own ridiculousness. With this show, you either like it or you don't. So I would suggest you to watch the first episode and what you see is what you get.
For me, I thought this show was good and really enjoyable. The show lies between being a parody of sports and martial arts anime with all of the girls' move being named every time they use it. The fight scenes are one of the best one ... I have seen so far and the art work with their use of sexy, thick, black, border-outline is wonderful. The character designs are great; however, if you're looking for some kind of good character development then turn away from this show because it has little. It sometimes tries to add some depths to it's character by suddenly throwing flashbacks during the fight scenes I find kind of annoying; I watch Keijo!!!!!!!! because of the sport Keijo itself.

High School Fleet is an anime that when watch really makes me feel refresh. This is one of the first military anime I've ever watch and I'd say that it was a pretty good introduction to the genre. The anime has fair character development for the main ones at least (keep in mind that the cast is huge). But what this anime really exceeds at is giving the me the thrills. As far as I can remember, there was only one episode where things went kind of stale, the rest were well paced and will ensure you excitement. This anime is probably the epitome of ... what I called "an anime that is fun to watch." If you looking for a quick fun time (I ensure you that you will binge watch this) give this anime a shot.

A ten year old mage is a teacher!? When I first heard about the show, its concept really attracts me to go and watch it. The first thing you'll need to understand is that this isn't some fast-paced science fiction. The shows really takes it time to show us the aspect of each character's life, and in the end, making me care more about them as time passes. The show has 31 characters (I'm not even counting the staffs in the school). This could be a huge turn off to some people. It certainly made me feel a bit hesitant when going in. However, the ... show does a descent job in introducing the huge cast. But, honesty, I felt like I cared for only 6 characters, which is not necessary a bad thing, since the show mostly focus on them anyway. Nevertheless, sometimes the show seems to be trying too hard, dragging the main characters along side with the minor characters so that the viewers won't forget about them. This happens a lot with Asuna. I the show can certainly sometimes get boring (especially the 4-mid-episodes of the show), but it was not too mundane to put me off. Sometimes I found my self wondering, "why the fuck are they dicking around instead of doing some shit relating to magic." But towards the last half of the series, I felt that this is a wonderful story about how a group of students had gone through trails and tribulation and became friends. In the end, I could say that I enjoyed the show. This show is for those of you who like a moderately paced slice of life show, with some element of fantasy sprinkled into it.

Joshiraku is an anime about the lives of five rakugo comedian girls. Instead of focusing on the girls rakugo performances, the show reveals what happens off stage and various things that happens in their day-to-day lives.

You would see this sentence being repeat throughout the show: "This anime is full of ordinary dialogue so that viewers can fully enjoy how cute the girls are". This quote highlights the main attraction of the anime: it's dialogue. The show has the ability to turn everyday, trivial matters into something that is absolutely hilarious and even sometimes philosophical. Seeing the interactions between these girls are entertaining. Just like ... in real life, while you are talking with someone, sometimes, you would wonder: how did our conversation end us on this topic? That is exactly the experience of watching Joshiraku, the character would ramble on things, whether it being a thoughtful discussion on today's politics or a lamentation on their horrible childhood experiences, and spice things up with humor. Now, the humor part of this show might cause some people to dislike it. A lot of the humor in this show involves references, whether that be an homage to another anime show or current events in the Japanese society. A good amount of the jokes are culturally specific to the otaku and the Japanese culture, which might be a barrier to some people watching this show to not get what's so funny. I'd say also as you're in touch with the otaku culture, you should be able to enjoy most of the content in this show. As for me, I had a great time with it.
